I am looking for games that do not rely on a powerful cpu but rely on a good gpu I know tomb raider is one that does (I think)

I may be speaking for just myself here, and I'm not saying this is the same with everyone. I ran the Cinebench OpenGL benchmark on my PC with my original GTX 980, and it scored about 130. I ran the same exact test when I got my GTX 1080 ti, and it actually scored significantly lower, at 70. The card itself is perfectly fine in every other game or benchmark, but the results seem to be so screwed up here. My CPU showed similarly skewed results. Cinebench gave my i7 4790k a 777 score, which makes no sense. I ran geekbench 4 and this was my score https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/3572787 . (which is on par with most non OC'd 4790Ks) I'm just saying it's definitely a bad test, it seems like an unreliable benchmark PC hardware according to these odd results i've encountered (even after running the tests multiple times). Maybe it's just me, or have any of you encountered "off" cinebench scores too?

So I recently purchased these items: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4XzB3F with my PSU being the Corsair RM750x. I plugged in everything and I get no response from any of my fans/GPU/LED The only thing that shows is this blue backlight that I think is coming from the motherboard. When I power up the system there's no beep noise or anything and nothing pops up. PLS HELP

Alright so all my computer's usb 3.0 ports and audio jacks (on the front and back of the case) have stopped working, as in when I plug something into them nothing registers (it doesn't register in windows, asus bios, or linux running off a CD), the usb 2.0 ports on both the front and back of the case still work, however. I've tried everything google and the LTT forums suggested to see if it's a software problem and I can pretty safely assume that it's not that. So I'm thinking it's a faulty component that I'll have to replace, my guess is the motherboard. My question is: if you were in my situation what would you do, would you replace the motherboard? Or could it be a different component? Thanks in advance neighborinos

Hello, I was looking for people to put their suggestions for the worst (but functional) keyboards, mice , headsets, and mics for gaming in here. Recently, I've had the feeling to pick up CS:GO. However if I am going to subject myself to hours and hours of torture, I figured I mind as well put some salt in the wound by ditching all of my gaming gear and using the worst peripherals possible. We're talking cheap membrane keyboards without legible key fonts. Those mice that have the trackballs on top of the unit! New headphones that sound like they came out of a motherboard and feel like they're made of barbed wire! We are talking about THE WORST! Thanks for suggestions. - Paul.

This is a simple question, The sli bridge that came with my board and it is a 3 way sli bridge, did not work. It will only work card 1 and 3, tested the cards and it's all fine so it's the bridge so my question is not about the cards as i know now so i gotta ask.... why is the included bridge a partial dud and is it normal for them to be kinda crappy.

Have a computer where some parts were fragged by water. No water made it to the PSU. But when I do the jumper test on the PSU the fan spins but only for a second. PSU is a HX750. I've had issues with corsairs psu's in the past so I wouldn't be surprised if this is dead or on the edge. Thoughts?

CPU: i7 4790K Cooler: Dark Rock Pro 3 I used the cooler when I first got this PC. Needed to RMA it but took me months to do so due to one reason or another. In the meantime I used the Intel Stock Cooler. Temps would often go OVER 90 degrees when under load from games when I installed the stock cooler. RMA'd cooler and got a new one. I re-applied it a couple weeks ago and was stress testing it with AIDA64 and Intel Extreme Tuning utility. I even went as far as doing the FPU test all by itself. CPU temps would go up to 85 degrees celcius. Could this have damaged the CPU? I suspect damage because when I removed the cooler to re-apply the paste (I was shocked my temps were going over 80 degrees when I had such a good cooler), there were some kind of dark coloured marks on the CPU. I could remove them with my finger but I didn't know what they were. Almost looked like burn marks. Also, there was some kind of thin layer of liquid between the CPU and cooler metal surfaces, which on first glance looked like condensation. But it was weird. The cooler and CPU had an EXTREMELY tight seal so I don't see how moisture from the outside could have gotten in. It's worth noting at this point the thermal paste covered maybe less than half of the surface area of the CPU. So I suspect whether heat directly transferring between the metals of the cooler and CPU could have caused some permanent damage and the burn marks to the metal surfaces? I'm less concerned about high temps inside the CPU because while it was hot, it was within limits. I'm more concerned about the surface of the metals. That water-like substance around the thermal paste had trails connecting it to where the thermal paste was. Moreover, the paste looked kind of like it was burnt? What I mean by that is it looked like it had hardened, hence my thinking it had been burnt. Could this be as a result of faulty thermal paste? I purchased this paste in January 2016. It's the HT-H1 by Noctua

Hi! So i've had my PC for 6 years now and its been getting worse and worse. However, i dont really play that many games more than LOL and CSGO, which it has been holding up with. Rough specs: i7 3770 16gb hyperx RAM gtx 670 128gb SSD 1TB HDD Today when i tried to play league, my game lagged morew than anything i have ever seen (maybe 1 frames per 3 seconds) and then it started artifacting and after maybe 1 min my pc crashed. I could restart it and browse internet and all that without any issues, so decided to try again and ofc same thing happened. I tried it with CSGO as well, and same thing there, so it's something with my PC. I assume it's my GPU because of the artifacts. I opened my PC and tried to take out and put the gpu back in, but nothing changed and i still can't game. Any idea what this might be? is it finally turn to buy a new PC (I wanted to wait until ryzen 3000 series Thanks in advance!

OK, so basically i dug up my parents old PC from the closet under the stairs to check what exactly did it have in it back in those childhood days of professor fizz wizzle and nitrome. And i thought i might as well share it with this community, i ended up with the specs below, and i want you to rate it and guess the price for this amazing piece of hardware from 2005 that i dubbed "the beast" (Sorry for no pictures i may provide some in a follow up post as it is not currently in my possession) Specs: - CPU: Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.8ghz locked (1 core, 1 thread) - GPU: ATI Radeon X300se, 128MB DDR VRAM - MBD: Unknown, i couldn't find out what this was but by the look of it it seemed to be made by dell specifically for this PC - PSU: 460W Cooler master, probably the most expensive thing in the whole system - RAM: 2x 256MB DDR2 sticks @ 400mhz (Total of 526MB) - Storage: 1x 95GB HDD @ 3200RPM (OS) & 1x 135GB HDD @ 3200RPM (general storage) - OS: Windows XP - Case: Dell, made for this PC - Other: 2x Optical drives, (one is broken as i remember trying to run Lego Indiana Jones on it)

I'll share my RMA experience I also have some words for ZOTAC I wrote this in anger... note that the post almost turned in to a letter to ZOTAC at some point... I also wanted to let you all know how poor the company is handling the product quality, and after service. 1st RMA I bought 1080ti amp extreme core edition on 2018 september through amazon... considering the machine I was planning, I was short on cash so I delayed the project until october. but when I finished, the computer was somewhat malfunctioning. My game kept on crashing. I struggled to find out that the gpu is malfunctioning. The chip couldn't handle the factory overclock. It took me two months of struggle. Trust me I've tried every trouble shootings I can try. so I contacted zotac USA at about november 2018, and they approved the RMA I paid for the shipping since I live in Korea. It cost me 140$ both ways They were cool and fast responding. They found the defect and they said they were going to replace my unit. I was feeling good until they noticed me that they are replacing my unit with a refurbish?! I asked in frustration on the reason why factory defective product is being replaced with refurbish?! of course Due to their warranty ' Warranty claims will be serviced through the repair or replacement of the defective product, with ZOTAC USA holding sole discretion over the option to repair or replace. Any replacement product will be based on performance equal or greater than the original product, at the discretion of ZOTAC USA. ' Yah you have lawyers working huh so what they are saying is performance wise, refurbish is same as the brand new GPU... of course it is better then my factory defective product!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I bought a new product with defects!!!!!! Shouldn't you have some kind of terms covering your own fault for producing and shipping a malfunctioning unit? but why the hell did I buy new product? to get a refurbish???? The warranty it self is a total disaster I tried to make it right but they kept on saying its the terms on the warranty. How can you people in USA live with that? Customers have their rights to get a fully working new product when we pay for it. but I gave up. I am nobody living in Asia nobody cares, nowhere to claim this to about other then CS. I even sent a mail to the HONGKONG HQ in a frustration and they replied.... ' Dear Sir, Please refer the reply from our colleagure.Thank you.' ?????????????????????? I just became a stupid idiot who bought a refurbish product with more money then a new product. I received the replacement, no Zotac approved seal(they sealed it with normal tape...) had some scratches but was okey, game worked fine, clock bench came out fine but guess what, it's not over. 2nd RMA My computer still had weird symptom. When ever I played video, sound sync started getting separated and it eventually crashed in almost every 30 minutes. Video stops and sound repeated like an EDM forever. I started going through troubleshoots. I thought it was nvidia driver, or something. Time passed by... since the games were working fine, I tried to ignore the video stopping symptom. I was planning a second computer and started buying things. When I bought a 1660ti(I am a sucker I bought a ZOTAC again) I put it on my original PC to test the card and boom!!!!!!!!!! Problem solved. No more video stopping or sync messing up. I was in my darkest mood that day... I contacted ZOTAC again. RMA approved... 140$ both ways all over again... Except this time they couldn't point out the defect, but they replaced it anyway. I was thankful, I didn't want to argue any more. I received it today and had no more patience to endure this mess. They sent me another refurbish with a crap condition this time... at least they sealed it with ZOTAC seal... Some parts with hex key screws were clicking...I don't have a hex key to tighten them I'll add the video... Why are the fan wings all chipped out? Why is thermal compound not even touching the chip??? You gave me a 2080ti inner box with some magic eye thing.... gee thanks... Are you treating me this way because I'm a nobody living in who knows where??? I bought the product I paid my money to get a proper product. I know what your gonna say when I claim about the condition. Its esthetic, our terms of condition..... performance... equal... that's what says on the terms...bblah You failed to manufacture properly You failed to take responsibility on your factory defective unit. You failed to fulfill your crappy warranty by sending me another defective product You failed again by providing a not properly refurbished product with your stupid ZOTAC seal on. I've had enough of you ZOTAC USA. ZOTAC You are a multi national firm. You should take a better care of your customer. How can you make customer take responsibility for your own factory defective product??? How can you replace a new product with a refurbish at the first place? How can you fail to refurbish properly? twice? only to me??? SHAME ON YOU ZOTAC From this amazing unboxing experience to.... This madness.... KakaoTalk_Video_20200304_1436_22_864.mp4

Hey all German fellas! I need help to do my school project. I am making a video about my room in germany and i need help. I am not that good in germany so please pardon me. I do not have the video yet so these following phrases will be odd. Thank you! The phrase is in english then done with my germany skills. Can you help me translate my project from english to germany. Oh what a intense day. Im very tired. Lets go into my room. Oh, es was ein schwer Tag. Ich bin seh müde. Gehen wir in meiner Zimmer. What the hell! What is that smell. It smells like ass. Oh Mann! Sheisse. Was ist das. Es riechst Arschloch. Here is one of my too many chairs. This chair I use for my school backbag and my used clothes (not dirty used) Hier eine vor meine zu viel Stühle. Dieses Stuhle ich benutze für meine Rucksag und fü meine ein bisschen gebrauch Kleider. And there are my press, weights and my biceps bar. I do not use them often since i usually lack motivation. Und da sind meinen Betonung, Presse und gewichten. Ich benutze die oft nicht, weil ich oft keine Lust habe. There is my table with shelfes under it. In the table there is my fan for hot summers and my school books. In the shelves are technology staff. Da ist mein Ebene und unter die sind meine Schenkel. Ebne ich benutze für mir Ventilator für scharch sommer. In die Schenkel habe ich teknolog. Oh and there is my too small bed and white shelves containing clothes. Oh da ist mein zu klein Bett und Weiss Schenkel für Kleider. Oh, and i almost forgot. My gaming computer and 2x monitors with peripherals. These i use for homework and gaming. Oh, und ich fast vermisse. Meine gaming Computer und 2x Monitoren mit pheripher. Hope you enjoyed my room! Hoffentlich ihc habe meine rum geniessen! Do not judge plz.

Hi folks, long time since I last had troubles with my computer, but right now my computer has an unidentified problem where I strongly believe that you guys will at least help me to identify the source of this issue. The whole story: one day everything was working flawlessly, the next day I was using my computer when suddenly my monitor went black while the computer was still working. I confirm that it was a monitor issue cause if I shut the monitor off and turn it on again it showed image for 2 seconds until it went black again. I concluded that my monitor just got old, so I didn't get stressed, as I had it like 8 years ago and it served me well. Then, I wasn't home for some days, until today that I came back, then connected an old LCD tv I had laying around. I got amazed of what I saw, Windows' colors weren't the same, the light blue of Windows now is orange for example, but the real mess comes next as the output gets messed up and it stays like that, nothing more happens and it doesn't allow me to even reach the log screen. Even if I get to the BIOS, it eventually crashes with all those weird colors, random numbers and letters where they shouldn't be... I don't have an idea of what could be producing this, as everything was alright, I was very happy with my computer's performance, etc. My specs are: -AMD APU 7700k -16gb ram kingston(2x8 @1333) -Graphics integrated in cpu -Motherboard MSI A68HME33 V2 -PSU EVGA 500W 80+ silver Photos: https://imgur.com/a/HOR96x8I didn't want to believe it was a computer problem so I tested it with another working led monitor, but I got the same output. Things I already tried: -change ram, tried with one stick, with different brand also. -tried a dedicated gpu. It somehow didn't even show image, all black since the beginning. Note that is a working gpu and I installed it correctly Also, would it be possible that a virus is causing this? It all went bad suddenly. So far, my strongest belief is that this is problem either of the integrated graphics or the whole cpu. But I am no expert, some of you may be, so what you say? What can it be? I really need some help here, if you have some free minutes I will love your kindness, thanks!!

Has anyone else had any bad experiences with Zotac? I bought a refurbished 1080 AMP from their online store on the 20th. I received the new (to me) card on the 26th. It was dead on arrival, now they are making me pay return shipping. The only reason I went with them was because they had the cheapest used 1080. Now I am regretting not going with a manufacturer with better customer service. Lesson learned. Never buying from Zotac again. I will have in total paid around $50 in shipping fees (if the replacement works)

35% Of the time it takes me to a webpage provided by bing, 45% of the time it doesnt show me what I typed and the last percentages it shows a file with the same name before the actual setting. How can something so easy work so bad, have you ever tried searching for updates but instead of updates it says: Lets search online, it only fixes itself after you delete a few letters of the word update.

i have a brand new PC and have tried everything i need to know if my PC is just not what i want or if there is another problem. i recently had a PC built by Ironside Computers and it is not preforming how i expected and what people are telling me it should. the specs are as follows CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX 32-Core Processor GPU: GeForce RTX 2080Ti RAM: 64GB Monitor: 1920x1080 144Hz Drivers are all up to Date as of 2/3/2020 On the Assasins Creed Odyssey the benchmark i get is 61FPS on escape from tarkov im getting anywhere from 47-70 FPS but id say a AVG of 50 on the Forest im getting around 42 FPS These are all on the highest or very close to the highest settings. I am new to the PC world but i have tried many things to "fix" the FPS i get such as turning off multithreading, and assigning games to certain cores. also here is the benchmark for my PC by userbenchmark https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/24333637 I want to know if theres something i am doing wrong or if i should just re-do the build all together, if i should re-do the build please LMK what the specs should be in the new PC. <3 please help

Just picked up a new router the ASUS DSL-AC68U and cant seem to figure out why I am getting considerably worse WiFi speeds on very specifically my Windows 10 PC (Yes due to annoying circumstances I am stuck with WiFi atm) vs Android phones in the house which work fine and get expected speeds both on 2.4ghz. My PC is getting 1-3mbps on this router vs my expected speed of around 40mbps which I can achieve on the old router. I've found similar issues with the same router online and have tried the fixes to no avail. I am extremely confused please help.

My PC gaming performance was perfectly fine before I decided to watercool my PC! I did have some mishaps on the water cooling. The back port of the gpu was loose and it leaked a bit on the GPU PCB. I left it overnight and hoped it worked. I did all my tubing and finished my loop. It worked! I boot up and Run Modern Warfare. Only to experience horrendous PC performance. It wasn't like this before I water cooled! 30 frames on 2k at high settings. Temps are Fine. Specs: Asus Maximus IX Extreme Intel 6700k RTX 2070 Super Founders Edition Corsair Vengeance Rgb 16 gbs How can I fix this?

Hey I have been having problems where games like CSGO don't run as well as they should because I have a pretty beefy system and I only get around 120-140 fps on the new cache map, and even on mirage I get max 200, and I've seen other people with the same graphics card getting 500 fps, is the 7800x really that bad or is there something I can do? Along with this I can play battlefront 2 max settings at 150% resolution scale and get over 144 fps. I've tried a fresh install of windows, I've uninstalled display drivers with DDU and reinstalled them and it still runs badly. Help would be greatly appreciated.Specs:i7 7800x @ 4.6 GHzAsus Dual Exo GTX 2080 Super4x8 GB DDR4 RAM @ 3200 MHz

RX Vegas running hot when NVIDIA has no heat issues in the last decade RX 480, 580, 590 having massive driver issues with modded Terraria and others and being consistently outperformed by NVIDIA cards for a similar price Secondhand value being utter trash, no one wants them because NVIDIA is just the better choice Recalls due to being utter crap and killing PCs Radeon VII being a laughable crapshow AMD can't do tesselation and doesn't support CUDA Did I mention drivers? And overlay being screwed up for many thousands of users RX 5500 being terrible value for the price No ray tracing Oh and did I mention heat and driver issues? AMD Radeon more like GayMD Gaydeon Friend got a secondhand (*shudder*) Vega 56 and I told him he would have been happier with an NVIDIA card, the AMD card will go out quicker than he can spell AMD, he tried to argue that undervolting the card will fix the heat issues but you shouldn't have to do that in the first place! There's a good reason why laptops have Intel CPUs and NVIDIA cards. /soapbox

So, basically I have a pretty good computer as you would say. Specs listed below. But what I can’t understand is the trash frames I get. For example Tony Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, I’m averaging 40fps, Fortnite averaging 100fps, Overwatch 100fps. I don’t get it, is their something I’m doing right or am I forgetting something, just wanna know why I’m getting bad FPS. Thanks to all who help. Specs: Core i5-7400 500GB-SSD 1TB-HDD 16GB RAM DDR4 Gtx 1070 Running a 144hz monitor.
