Hi all, I have a Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT NITRO+ 16GB few weeks now has been great but the day I got it I installed the Trixx software did a fan test and got a red fan in the middle, checked no bigger cable resting on it, fast forward about 4 weeks or so, ran another test and all 3 are red and hardly spin up during the test past 600rpm. If I run a stress test in the AMD software they do spin up and I don't believe I'm having any issues in the game, did a load of benchmarking last night and nothing odd. If I use MSI Afterburner and set to 100% it just goes back down to 0, I guess due to no load. Ran Furmark (Side pannel off) Max 62C Fans at 25%? Just an issue with Strixx software? GPU had power two separate 8 pins no daisy chain. Just an issue with Strixx software?

Troubleshooting Help: CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X MOBO - ASUS ROG B450-F Gaming II GPU - ASUS TUF 4080 OC PSU - Corsair RM1000x https://pcpartpicker.com/b/KKDcCJ My new 4080 from Asus will not work on my PC, I've narrowed it down to software issue at this point after trying many different configurations GPU works in my I5-7600 build with B250 mining board and multiple different power supplies and cables. Reinstalling mobo bios, AMD chipsets from AMD's site and a clean install of nvidia display drivers. I've done the UEFI gpu bios update from nvidia. I haven't done a full windows reinstall yet tho. With the lack of onboard graphics, I've put my 1070 in PCI slot 1 and the 4080 on slot 2 to boot with a display. Card shows up in device manager only, with a code 43 (sometimes without the error) If I try to swap their slots, mobo just gives me a VGA error light and no display output on either card. With no display drivers installed, I don't get any display from the card and a VGA error light on the MOBO but I think it is booting since AURA lights do come on after a little time. I've got a corsair 12vhpwr 2x8pin connector to try different power setup then the splitter provided. So in summary, I know the card works with multiple power supply configs since I've ran some test gaming sessions on my intel mining setup but every normal software troubleshooting step has not got it to work on my AMD setup

Hi everyone, Whilst I am gaming and I press on the Windows button to go into my desktop, the system will black screen and making a buzzing sound and reboot. This has happened several times before, although not always but it is frequent. I believed it was a PSU issue so I replaced it however I still had the same issue. The CPU is new, and the same issue sometimes occurred on my old CPU. I did a system stability test on AIDA64 and left it running for an hour and it did not crash. I also did a CPU test and it did not crash. Cinebench does not crash. I'm lost for words at what component is causing the issue. Please advise, thank you. Hello, I'll be upgrading the core of my PC (ram, cpu, mobo) to AM5. I've done a bit of research and it seems for the most part the x670 mobo is not really worth it at the high prices, however Newegg has a combo deal going on right now, These are the pieces I have mostly landed on, these are in USD location and prices: * 7800x3d for $340 (it's -30 due to combo) * Gigabyte x670 Gaming X AX V2 at $180 (-30 due to combo) * Team T-force delta 3200 32 GB 6000 CL30 at $99 (-10 due to combo) Total $663 My current pieces that I already own are: * Nvidia Asus strix rtx 3080 12gb * Seasonic focus 850w plat What do you guys think, worth it? My reason for upgrading is that my current mobo has a dead Gpu slot and broken RGB pins so I thought instead of buying a new mobo I might as well platform upgrade now

Hi everyone,im just another victim of a messed up rx 580,I used it for like 10 days and it was working perfectly fine and on low temps, but suddenly all sort of crashes were happening once a slight load was put on the gpu,I've been trying to troubleshoot it for a month now, tried a lot of drivers and nothing worked, and the only solution left was trying different bios's,but i still can't find the right one, some bios's allow me to get to desktop, but evrytime i clean and reinstall different drivers, still the same screen flickering and driver timeouts, any helpp?I really can't afford a new gpu rn

Hi there techies, I've experienced a weird AMD bug recently, and I wonder if it's only AMD-related. Randomly, when playing a game or just using some softwares, the whole app crashes, and an AMD Adrenalin error window opens saying "AMD Driver timeout" ... reporting error - blah blah "send us information". The window shuts down (in the case of a game-crash) or just stays here while covered by a black square (see below in "effects"). I've been troubleshooting that for a couple of days. * I disabled some options on Adrenalin (didn't fix anything). I didn't go to far on game tweaking for it happened on other apps as well. * My system is up to date (Win11 x64) * AMD Adrenalin is up to date I don't know if this may be a driver issue or a simple AMD Adrenalin issue (I'd like to find a better option to manage my drivers, though - maybe one that allows to manage all the drivers and download them? Don't hesitate to give me sont hints about that as well). On their last release notes (here), AMD said that some timeouts may be experienced on Helldivers 2 (a "patch", yes), but I didn't play this game, only Lysfanga (not the most resource-intensive game atm). Related, maybe? On the other hand, the last time this bug occurred, no game nor fullscreen app was running (only good'ol chrome and git bash). I'll continue troubleshooting this and will try to look more closely on power usage and error reports, but it seems that AMD Adrenalin is just a bug-nest I should get rid of... Did anyone experienced this recently? *** Effect: It makes the game, or any software the bug interacts with, crash (game freezes - the screen blinks with black briefly - then crash and return to windows with the AMD Adrenalin error report window opened). More: it makes the windows file explorer crash as well (rebooting the process via task manager solves the issue). In rare cases (when it occurred on Git Bash, god knows why), it creates a black blank square atop of the window that closes when the application is shut down but somehow, this space becomes interaction-proof: I can't click anything on any app while it's within the bounds of the square (even though the square is not there anymore). *** Thanks for reading, don't hesitate to ask for additional info - I'll keep the thread up to date with newer discoveries. *** BUILD * CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900 12-core processor * GPU: MSI AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT 12go * MB: ASUS Prime B-650 plus * RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance DDR5 32gb (2*16) 7000MHz CL40 Intel XMP * STORAGE: M.2 CRUCIAL P3 plus 2To * POWER: GIGABYTE P750GM 750w * OS: Windows 11 home x64 * SOFT: AMD Adrenalin version: 24.1.1

Current Specs: Intel i5-12400F MSI RTX 3050 ASUS Prime B660M-A AC D4 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3600mhz 1TB MSI M371 2TB Samsung 980 Pro I'm getting pretty serious with MSFS these days and also would like to explore City Skylines 2 which I know is another resource intensive title. I'm fine with my current setup at high settings in General Aviation aircraft in rural areas but if I use add-on scenery combined with an airliner near say NYC or LA I struggle to get 30FPS and also get frequent stutters so I need to upgrade to do those things. From what I've been able to tell researching GPU's a 4090 is probably overkill for me just wanting to do 1440p at Ultra Settings so I'm eyeing the 4080 Super as my GPU upgrade. I just can't figure out which CPU to pair with it. Do I stick with Intel and do a 13900K or 14900K or are those overkill like the 4090 is/was? Or do I do a complete platform change and get a new motherboard and look for one of the AMD X3D CPU's like the 7800X3D or 7950X3D? AMD seems to score higher on the various benchmark charts I've seen but is it worth upgrading a motherboard just to go with one of those CPU's? Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated especially if you're a MSFS user yourself

Budget: 850 CHF (965 USD) Country: Switzerland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cities Skylines 2, Frostpunk, GTA 5, mostly Simulation Games, no professional workloads. Other details: Hello Guys! I've been using cloud gaming for a while now and want to finally switch to a real PC. I've spend some time researching and landed on the Ryzen 7 5800X and RX 7700XT. They would fit my budget quite nicely but I'm not sure about the bottleneck? Also PCPP gives me a warning about the Motherboard and CPU compatibility, should I be worried? I've created a list with all the parts (I already have a case): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Bt6zjH. I'd love to get some feedback it's a lot of money for me so I don't want to waste it. I don't need high resolution or FPS I just want a nice playable experience. It's my first build so please be nice. Thanks in advance!

Hello all! I have a Ryzen 5 5600X with 3 broken pins and 3 bent pins. The 3 bent pins are highlighted in yellow and are "MB_DQS_L[3]", "MB_DATA[30]", and "MB_DATA[26]". The 3 broken pins are "MB_CHECK[2]", "MB_CLK_H[0]", and "MB_CLK_L[0]". I would like to know what these pins do, and if the CPU would function after I correct the bent pins. On the Vermeer pinout diagram, these pins all correlate to B channel memory, I was wondering if this was the case, I could use the A channel only, but I don't know much about this topic. Any help/information is appreciated. Thanks!

I currently have a 3200G with A320M and the current bios ver is 7.00 should I upgrade the bios to 7.10 and then to 7.20 or can I just skip straight to 7.20 (or is there a better stable ver?). I'm kinda scared to update cause I saw some forums on Reddit and other websites of people having problems with their 5600X on A320M and problems from 3200G to gen 5 ryzen I just wanna know whether it's safe or not, Should I wait on the 5600X to arrive first then update it to 7.20 with 3200G? Hey Guys, So I am looking to upgrade from my i9 9900K and I am going to get one of the Microcenter CPU, Mobo, Ram combos with either the Ryzen 9 7900X or the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. I am looking for the communities thoughts though with what you would recommend for my situation. I will use this PC for Gaming however I am about to go to college this Fall for Comp Sci Software Engineering with a possibility of Cyber Security. With that in mind, which CPU would you recommend for my situation?

Let's say that you got two graphics cards that are nearly identical in price and performance. Is it safe to say that NVidia seems to offer much more features than AMD? Am I wrong?

First time PC builder here. Rocking a 7600 with an ASRock b650m riptide. I recently watched a video from optimum tech where he demonstrates the use of PBO. I've tried it and its great. My 7600 is now at 5.150mhz at -30. However the second part of the vid where he puts the limits is where I'm confused. Can anyone explain the process behind and also give me any additional ways to improve temps, performance etc?

Hello everyone, So recently I've built a new pc from scratch, like a few weeks ago, everything was just amazing, and now these past few days the PC has been making some weird sounds from inside, my guess would be that it's coming from the motherboard, but can't tell where exactly. I have not picked it apart yet, will be doing that tomorrow, so I wanted to ask for suggestions here, maybe there is an easy fix, or no fix at all? Please let me know, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance. PC : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cnD428 IMG_2748.mov

Hey people I'm a QA tester and I need some analytics info for a game I'm currently testing. Platform: Windows Game Engine: Unreal Engine Query: Is there any tool that allows me to check if FSR is working? (FSR 2.2.2) From eyeballing it... I'm not able to make out the difference and I need something concrete to show for the bug report because anything less would be met with "it works on my system" from the Dev's end. (I do not have access to the editor build). Any tool that lets me see a difference between the levels of upscaling quantitatively would be perfect. Thanks in advance!

Hello Fellow AMD users, I have the following CPU: 7700X MOBO: Gigabyte b650i aourus RAM: Gskill 32 gigs of ram running at 6000 mhz expo1 GPU:6950 xt PSU: 850 watt CASE: corsair 2000d case AiO: arctic liquid freezer 360 AIO Bios F21 win 11 updated to latest available At the time of writing its 11 pm. The whole morning it ran 95 degree hot while I was playing Witcher 1. At 10 pm I ran benchmarks with cinebench R23 with the side panel open and AIO out and everything closed together. The score is exactly the Same 1982 with max temp at 65 degree C. This temperature spike is not consistent. At startup it runs 95 degree C and after I open witcher it either goes down to 40 degree or it doesn't. 1 restart later fixes the issue sometimes. I can't pinpoint why this is happening and I need help. I ran Corsair icue and temp jumped to 105 C and turned off itself. After I restarted, it was running at 45c. My room temperature is 20 degree C. bios is F21 and I haven't touched any bios settings. Fan curve is set to silent. Everything is updated and this is a New PC. I built it during black friday last year.

Ever since I built my PC back in November I've been getting random Kernel power 41 crashes when playing games. It's been almost exclusively during games, but it did happen once while simply browsing chrome. I have also been getting random memory exceptions in some games (albeit not as often) which don't usually crash the PC completely, they just crash the game. Here's my specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 w/ stock cooler RAM: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory Motherboard: ASRock X370 Gaming X (AM4) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2, 80+ GOLD 550W Storage: 500gb Samsung 960 EVO & 1gb Western Digital WDC WD10EALX-759BA1 Event Viewer screen shots are linked. So far I've tried moving RAM, moving GPU, tested RAM, stressed CPU & GPU (no crash during that). I've noticed it seems to happen more in fullscreen games over borderless windowed (not sure if that matters). This has been a 6 month long issue, and it's frustrated me as I was so excited to finally have a good PC to play games. If you need any more information please let me know.

Status: Final Important Notes: I've design this to work on my AMD Frameworks motherboard and the Intel boards are untested. Follow this guide at your own risk. Spoilers: Framework has hamstrung the AMD Ryzen chipset by throttling the CPU to a paltry sum of just 17W. Under all core utilization the max that I can my chip to clock upto is 2100 Mhz, and 1750 Average Mhz. I was able to clock the 760m to a boost clock of 2400 before the performance starts to fall on it's face. For overclocking I am using AATU though not fully supported I was able to clock the iGPU higher than what I was able to by default. I had ambitions of making the cpu holder customized to replace the Framework cooler with desktop eniterly but this mod is all that is needed to keep the fan from making an absolute ear piercing noise. With the fan directly contacting the heat pipes it's able to keep the whole package under 42C. If you are able to get the 7000 Series Mobile processor to overclock please let me know. Till then this project is done. Description: I've spent yesterday modeling a replacement cover that holds the heatsink in place over the top of the heatsinks off the cooler-master heat spreader. Similar to the design as Elevated Systems design but adapted to suit the model of Nactua heatsink I've selected. It utilizes the holes in the aluminium sheets and the actual heat tubes to compress the heatsink down onto the existing heat pipes. Printed with rigid enough material should apply enough force to compress the heatsink down to effectively transfer heat to Nactua heatsink and fan. Works in progress: *Automatic speed controls depending on the CPU temp via eBay +12VDC adapter. Example: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/305269828606 Community Ideas: (Suggestions here) Things you'll need *Frameworks/Cooler Masters Standalone Case *Frameworks AMD Motherboard *3D printer with build volume of 200mm*150mm *2mm thermal pads to pickup a few voltage regulators (optional) *2x M2x8mm bolts Reference: Link to Elevated Systems video - Hopes and Dream: Future projects on this are to integrate the standalone case and external GPU case. Though after exhaustive research it's not currently worth the investment of the hardware. Maybe after USB5 comes out then it can be more worth while but till then it's just simply not worth it. Happy printing Framework Fan Mod Right V1.0.STL Framework Fan Mod Left V1.0.STL

This is a Driver Timeout Issue with the GPU a 7900 XTX. This has been 6 months straight now, my current set up; GPU 7900 XTX (XFX Merc) CPU 7900X RAM Trident Z5 Neo 64gb 6000Mhz CL30 (AMD EXPO) PSU A100G PCIE5 1000W MSI MOBO MSI X670e Carbon Wifi OS Windows 11Pro Attempted fixes in order (working alongside XFX and AMD for 6 months now) I've written out the majority, and counted this out how many times I've done; Windows 10 Install fresh computer 32 - 64 GB of RAM (DDR5) Turning off EXPO for RAM Turned it back on for RAM Windows 10 Reformat when issues first showed up in a game POST WINDOWS 11 Windows 11 Clean install new NVME Turning off EXPO for RAM Turned it back on for RAM Attempted to turn off super sampling etc. DDU, new drivers DDU, new drivers DDU, new drivers DDU, direct drivers DDU, new drivers, uninstall wallpaper engine DDU, new drivers, attempt to run games without LD Player running DDU, new drivers, 1 monitor only We have a community-based survey we were passing around on AMDs SubReddit and the FORMERLY support section of it. Recently after one of my threads was deleted within 5 minutes of being posted, they changed the policy that no support should be on the Reddit and directed us to the AMD forums. This is my post; https://community.amd.com/t5/drivers-software/7900-xtx-drivers-crash-multiple-games/m-p/599145/highlight/true#M173161 This is NOT fixable. It is completely random, you can't tell which game your GPU will not be able to run. Fresh windows install does nothing, and I have a 1000W PSU with the HPWR to 16 (8x8) splitting and a single dedicated 8x pin. It's not just me, there are people on the 7600X getting the same issues. And another amazing thing? Running in the Unreal Editor, it crashes on me. I am a game developer. A GAME DEVELOPER, going to move into unreal soon, leaving Unreal behind., Linus and the team recommending AMD despite the issue STILL hitting their cards is ridiculous. DO NOT PURCHASE AMD. They don't know how to fix this issue, I have been talking to them for 6 months straight now, and they have NO IDEA why this issue is happening... and it hits you at complete random. If you want a GPU that won't randomly crash on random games, then you need to be using either Nvidia or Intel. And I say this as someone who has used ATI and AMD GPUs for literally 26 years now. I hate this, I spent $1500 on this... the 4080 wasn't much more than this, and tbh I wish I just saved up for the 4090. I could have put it off a few months. But if this card worked across every game, application, etc it would be fine. It would be near perfect. But with the 4070 and 4080 out there, do you want to risk your game not working in this? You can clear windows 100 times. You can run DDU 1000 times. It will never solve this issue and the GPU will always break on some applications and programs. This is what you are risking with AMD right now.

My motherboard (Gigabyte Aorus X570s Master)'s rear ports can't recognize my keyboard and mouse plugged into its USB 3 ports in UEFI/bootloader. In this picture, the only ports I have yet to try are the USB 2.0 (few years ago, my keyboard or mouse doesn't seem to power at all, IIRC) & the USB-C. Front panel ports are confirmed to be working in UEFI/bootloader. All ports are working when it's fully booted on Kubuntu. What's the purpose of the blue one with "BIOS"?

Budget (including currency): $1,000 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: ? Probably F1 2023 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sdTTDZ My question is about the "14 total / 10 usable" Native PCIe lanes here: https://www.amd.com/en/product/14086 I am ready to spring for an 8500G. Assume my 8500G choice is locked. What is a good motherboard that has 2 x USB4 to take advantage of those pins coming from the CPU, and as much PCIe expansion as possible? Assume I'll keep the motherboard for 15+ years. Eventually I'll get some faster AM5 CPU to put in it. The ASUS ROG X670E crosshair hero almost seems like a good choice. (The manual is here) Explanation: The ROG X670E strix has 1 DisplayPort 1.4 output on the rear I/O but no USB4. The ROG crosshair has 2 x USB4 display outputs from the CPU. And the 8500G has 2 x USB4 ports. But I'm still nervous I missed something that's going to bite me later. What will be the limitations on PCIe slots? If the CPU had a full 16 lanes for the x16 the manual then talks about bifurcation on p. vii "specifications summary" -- The second PCIe 5.0 x16 slot works only in x8 mode: "(support x16 or x8/x8 mode)" And "When PCIE 5.0 M.2 card is installed on PCIEX16_2, PCIEX16_1 will run x8 only." Some of that is pretty normal for X670E motherboards based on [1]. What I'm wondering is what happens when the APU only has 10 usable PCIe lanes? Will the second x16 stop working at all - same for the slots M.2_1 and M.2_2 which each use x4 of PCIe 5.0, they prob will just not work at all. So I have to use M.2_3 and M.2_4 which are PCIe 4.0 x4 - that doesn't seem so bad. I do see that pcpartpicker flags the 5800G CPU as being so new I'll need to flash the motherboard BIOS before I can install it. That's the $650 ASUS board that I'm looking at. Now, I hear you, you'll cringe at spending that much on the motherboard. Motherboards have gotten pricey lately, so I'm looking to buy an excellent one and to really peer into its guts. I mean, I looked at the ASRock X670E Taichi Carrara for $623 and it has the same warning, "support x16 or x8/x8 modes*" and probably has the same gotcha if M2_1 is used. Gigabyte seems to have discontinued the X670E Aero D, and the AORUS Master limits its USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4. MSI has the same DisplayPort 1.4 limitation. Anyone already have the ROG crosshair or ASRock Taichi Carrara? [1] https://www.techpowerup.com/review/asus-rog-crosshair-x670e-hero/

Recently I turned on the fTPM on my asus B550 wifi motherboard because of the new Windows 11 TPM 2.0 requirements, after I did that I started getting random stuttering on everything, heavy cpu or gpu load don’t seem to trigger it, I tried running the heaven benchmark and doing some heavy renders in blender but nothing happened , its just random and everything stutters, discord calls, games, YouTube, it happens randomly at least 3 times a day I turned off fTPM and the stuttering went away, anyone have a clue what could be happening? I have a 3090 and a 3900xt
