Good day everybody I ordered myself a new ryzen CPU, AM4 Mainboard and Ram the cpu is going to be the r71700 and im going to combine it with and Aorus AX370 Gaming 5 But my problem is that i already own a dedicated soundcard that was gifted to me by a friend (X-Fi Titanium fatal1ty) and the onboard sound on the aorus looks quite decent and i wanted to ask which one i should use i mostly play games but casually edit videos and listen to music i have decend headphones and im going to get a 5.1 Set up quite soon too. if i listen to music its mostly Nightcore EDM or some Psy-trance. Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.

I'm not sure which one to buy. The b350 is 50 eur cheaper and has usb 2.0 on the back (which I need, and x370 doesn't). All the while, x370 has 4 fan headers and b350 only has 2, and I'm planning on having a 4-fan build and I want to control them. I'm not planning on SLI. Is there anything that I might be overlooking in the greatness of x370 that might not be listed in the specs section? Greater audio, perhaps, i.e. less interference? Thanks in advance! Bonus question: x370 has 2 more slots in the "audio" compartment. They're black and beige. What are they for?

does anyone know of any good air coolers that support am4 without having to wait for a bracket to be delivered? i know you can get a motherboard that supports am3 coolers but i don't really want to spend that much on a board so if anyone knows of any good coolers that already support it that would be great thanks

I don't have mine yet, but thought it might be a good idea to share what motherboards and ram we have, so that others that are looking into buying can see exactly which ram has worked well with certain motherboards. Info should have:- Motherboard make and model BIOS version DDR4 make and model part numbers and expected speed The actual speed you managed to get working stable or not I will get mine in a few days time and add it here.

So just built a Ryzenc1700 build, I used the amazing Stock Wraith Spire, But it turns out that the motherboard I got (Msi B350 Tomahawk) has it's own software Msi Gaming App and for some reason you can't turn off the ugly red motherboard LEDs without turning off the CPU cooler LEDs but I just want the CPU LEDs on, I'm looking into getting the NZXT hue+ but I want to know if the Spire's 5pin would work with the Hue+ Or does anyone have any better software to control the LED zones seperate

I am well aware that this is a highly subjective topic but I just think that some basic principles of design seem to be violently brocken with these motherboard designs. About my own taste: I am not against colour but I usually prefere something subtile and organized. It might come as a surprise but I don't acctually caer to much about the colour of my stuff. I have a MSI Z77-GD65 which is brown/blue with a mix of 2x Kingston HyperX RAM in blue and 2x Corsair Vengeance LPX with a Gainward GTX 1080 Phoenix (red ...) which I bought for performance and great cooler not the colour. In the back of my Fractal Design Define R4 sits a poop-brown Noctua NF-S12A and I bought windowed sidepanel after the fact. When it is dark I don't see it that much but i will be starring at my screens anway. Why do I care? -Idk, I just see a lot of people caring and despite the fact of not caring feel that i have a sense of what a well desinged board looks like. In the end I felt the need to ask some more people like you if feel the same way. Additionally Jayztwocents recently made a video with a strawpol under it asking if we would rather buy neutral looking gear. I would if the performance wasn't a compromise but it usually is and feel like neutral doesn't meant whatever the hell some of these manufacturers do with their 'neutral' black/white/grey/silver boards. I would like to know if you guys feel the same about these motherboard or is is just me? CAUTION, spoiler below is huge. If you are just here to simply the ask me why I care please do me a favor and just ignore this post and move on. I would really like to hear your opinion in this topic though.

Hello my friends, my friend want me to build him a gaming pc with the budget of 2,000 USD. I have everything set and am curious if the X62 Kraken with its AM3+ Mounting hardware will fit onto this AM4 Hero MOBO. Ive read on amazon on their FAQ's that this board comes with the AM3+ mounting holes, so no biggy right? Also the NZXT Website says this AIO is compatible with all AM4 Mobo's. Now is this true? Because ive seen people freaking out about AM4 brackets and how to order them. Or will I scrape by with an old AM3 backplate and call it a day? Thanks in advance! Hello! I'm going to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 1700x CPU and I'm now looking for a nice motherboard. I found this Aorus Gaming K5 and it definitely looks cool and it fits into my budget which is max 200 € Is there something why I shouldn't buy it or is there a better X370 motherboard for max. 200 € Link: http://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-AX370-Gaming-K5-rev-10#kf Thank you!

Preceding the launch of Ryzen 5, the AM4 motherboards have gotten some well-needed updates to help iron out some of the early bugs. Article: http://www.pcworld.com/article/3186443/computers/amd-preps-for-ryzen-5s-launch-with-a-helpful-am4-motherboard-update.html The update includes the following changes. Ryzen performance seems to be impacted by system RAM quite a bit thus far, and so the latency tweak should help to improve performance a little bit. However, the big deal is the axing of the HPET requirement. Hopefully, throwing out Ryzen Master's dependence on HPET will allow us to get better overclocks on our Ryzen CPUs. While Ryzen's OC potential isn't awful, any way we can squeeze out more performance is welcome. The BIOS updates that will include these changes won't come out for about a week or so, but I'm happy to see that the AM4 platform is finally growing out of its infancy. To compound this, the article takes note of some upcoming Ryzen optimization updates. Sounds good to me!

Hey guys, I recently helped my roommate purchase the components for a new gaming PC. For the CPU we got a Ryzen 7 1700 and we paired it with the MSI B350M Gaming PRO. After getting it all put together it will not post, with the motherboard "ez debug" led saying there is a problem with the CPU. We took the CPU out and reseated it just to make sure it was in correctly and we double checked the CPU power cable were properly fitted. But still no post. Do you guys think we just got a bad CPU? RMA time? Thanks for the suggestions. Here are the full specs: ryzen 7 1700 MSI b350M Gaming Pro corsair vengeance 8GB ddr4 evga 600W PSU asus rx480 WD blue 1TB

Okay, I could use some assistance here if anyone would be so kind. I bought a Ryzen 1800x and a Gigabyte GA-AX370-Gaming K7 and a kit of 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz RAM. I happen to work at a computer store, and I've also had the opportunity to test the exact same RAM on a customer's Asus Crosshair VI Hero, also with an 1800x (we're building it for him). Now, neither system will POST when the RAM is pushed to 2933, but I was about to get the Asus system to POST at 2666. My Gigabyte system, however, will not POST above 2133. It tries, then it just resets the timings and reboots at 2133 again. I even tried flashing with the latest beta BIOS (F3b), but no change. I do realize this is all new technology, and it may well be sorted in future BIOS updates, but I thought I'd take a crack at manually adjusting the settings. I've messed with overclocking before, but it's probably been at least 12 years, probably more. I typically just let the MoBo set the timings and leave it alone. That said, I'd appreciate some assistance in determining the correct settings I should shoot for to get this running at least 2400, preferably 2666.

Hi all, Looking to purchase a Ryzen system in the not too distant future, I'm a little stumped with the selection of motherboard. As the title suggests, I'd like to purchase one that is actively supported by the manufacturer. I've had a bad experience with being left in the dust with my Z68X-UD5, and while this didn't happen until later in the product lifetime, it is something that I now take into consideration. So, those with Ryzen systems or otherwise in the know, please let me know which customers are being taken care of. Cheers!

Hey there guys - as many people these days, I also plan to go with AMD Ryzen CPU as my next upgrade path (my old i7 4770K is good, but my Z87 MBO is acting a bit and getting new one is tricky). And for that I would love to get also new motherboard. While I decided to go with R7 1700 and just overclock it (and save around €200 for same performance and spend that extra on high-end MBO), with motherboards it is a tiny bit trickier to pick one. After some research I narrowed it down to two boards. Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero (AM4) (https://www.alza.sk/en/asus-rog-crosshair-vi-hero-d4737577.htm) Gigabyte Aorus AX370 Gaming K7 (AM4) (https://www.alza.sk/en/gigabyte-aorus-ax370-gaming-k7-d4744790.htm Because I have ability to get them both for around same price (despite what links I posted say) it really depends on "What is better". And that's what I would love to hear from you guys - which board is in your opinion and experience (if you have one or both of these) better? Should I grab Asus for more USB and better audio (+ RGB sync with my Asus GPU) or go with Gigabytes slightly better aesthetics, more sturdy PCIe and HDMI output if I'll ever need it (for example for APU if Ryzen/GPU breaks)? What are pros and cons both of them in your opinion? Thanks for the help

Hi there folks... I upgraded to the ryzen 1700 with the Asus prime B350 plus mobo back when ryzen launched. I bought 8GB kit of corsair vengeance LPX ( https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233828&_ga=2.15691894.1750959582.1494763829-248975824.1492738158 ) I cant seem to get the ram to run any faster than stock 2133. I try every bios update and still nothing. Im on most recent bios PRIME B350-PLUS BIOS 0609 and board just wont post even at 2400. any help would be great thanks

hi everyone, i wanna build a Ryzen 7 1700 PC now. i think i go with ASRock X370 Gaming K4 Motherboard, any suggestion what RAM should i buy? is it good if i use Gskill Flare X 2x8GB RAM, as its the fastest ram now for AM4 (can the motherboard run 3466 mhz ram frequency?). or i just pick Gskill TridentZ RGB for cheaper and extra blink2 ?

SO ive decided to get a Ryzen 5 1600 (great for the price, plus cpu cooler? heck ya!) but im slighty confused on what mobo to get. I need one that can support a gtx 1060 or 1070, and one that can support a network card, preferably this wifi card TP-Link N300 Wireless PCI-Express Adapter (TL-WN881ND) ive found a few good looking boards but the problem is either they have a slot for the network card and it doesnt say in the specs, or it doesnt have the pcie slot. and the ones that have the pcie slot are 2.0, not 3.0. im really at a dead end about this mobo and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey everyone I am new here. Brand new build. First custom PC since 09 (still running, repurposed as media PC) CPU - Ryzen 1700 (stock cooler for now, Corsair h115i in the mail) MB - ASUS Prime x370 GPU - Gigabyte G1 GTX 1080 RAM- Corsair Vengeance LED 32gb (2x16) 3000mhz OS/Programs drive - Samsung evo 850 sata 500g Cache/scratch and working files- Samsung evo 960 m.2 nvme 500g Mass storage - Seagate 3tb 3.5 7200 hhd Back up clone drive - Seagate 3tb 2.5 5400 hhd (was from laptop lol) PSU - Raid Max 650w 80+ gold CASE - NZXT s340 elite matte white. Anywho on topic. I am having RAM issues. Hopefully you have experience or heard about the RAM speed issues Ryzen boards have been having. My 3000mhz hit will only run at 2133mhz... But I encountered a weird occurrence. When I first built the PC it wouldn’t boot unless the RAM was set to Auto on everything. Even if I manually selected 2133mhz it would not boot. I updated the bios reading it solved the problem somewhat. Then followed this guide. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74gO0e-4-A8 TLDW set Ram to D.O.C.P but drop too 2666mhz, bump the voltages on DRAM and set the boot voltage thresholds a bit higher. I managed to get stable with 2666mhz with this guide. And a modest 3.7 on the cpu, I am not planning on going further until the AIO cooler comes. But anyway, ran Aida64 watched my temps all that jazz. Decided to leave the CPU but wanted to see if I could get the rated 3000mhz on the ram. I go into the bios bump the ram to 2933mhz. Reset. Computer wouldn’t post didn’t even cycle reset. Had to unplug power and take the ram out and in to get it to post. So I think, yep no worries. Wont run at 3000mhz. Im happy with 2666mhz since its a new platform updates will come. I drop the ram back down to 2666mhz and reset. PC cycled and failed to boot into windows... same settings that worked 10mins earlier... but now failed. Long story short, basically if I touch ANY RAM settings it wont boot. Just like when it had the stock BIOS. So I reinstalled the current BIOS, no change... WTF!?!?!? Anyone encounter a similar issue where a previous stable OC wont work anymore? Or with ASUS x370 boards and ryzen????

I was casually looking through my favourite Hardware Comparison Website when i encountered the AMD A6-9500 in the AM4 Socket. It is of course is an APU which was announced back in summer, so called "Bristol Ridge". The specs said: 65 Watt TDP 790 GFLOPS of compute performance (in comparison last gen's top of the line APU the 7890K had 887 GFLOPS) and of course DDR4 memory support What do you guys think about that? Insert other media PS: it costs 80€ right now but we will see how long that actually stays.

If you are looking for context for this poll then here it is: I have been planning a Ryzen 5 PC build and one of the pieces of feedback I got was to get RAM with a higher clock speed (I think the feedback said about 3000MHz). Recently, I watched one of LMG's older videos (about 4 months ago) discussing memory clock speeds. The video said that there was a bit of hassle around making higher memory clock speeds work and could cause instability. That got me considering, what clock speeds do AM4 socket motherboards support. I took a look and my choice of motherboard (ASRock) in the link said 2666MHz, but I later realized that AMD launched a couple of BIOS updates to increase support up to the 4000MHz range. After looking on the ASRock website, ASRock stated that it is not recommend to get the update if the motherboard is working as intended and they take no responsibility for any damage after the updates are installed. So I wondered if it was really worth the extra clock speed and set off to find out here. Note #1: For the three user experience questions, you are not restricted to answering something other than "I could not tell" to only one the three questions e.g. if you have supervised someone of lesser experience trying to enable unsupported RAM clock speeds then you could give your perspective on their attempts. Note #2: If you believe there is something important to mention that is not included in the poll or in the comments, feel free to add your piece. Many thanks, Melonize

Hi guys, I currently have a system with an AMD a10 7700k and an amd r7 250, I'm planing to build another system using just the same graphics card but I have a couple of questions about video outputs of am4 motherboards. As far as I know ryzen chips don't have integrated graphics, in my current build I use 4 video outputs, 2 from the graphics card an 2 from the motherboard so, Can I use motherboard's video outputs in an am4 motherboard? I need to use them because that graphics card doesn't support more than 2 video outputs. Thanks for your help.

Hello, I recently spotted a new DESKTOP CPU from AMD, the AMD A10-9700 (link to local store: https://www.skroutz.gr/s/12627757/AMD-A10-9700-Box.html I Googled about it and I did not find anything related to this CPU, other than a review of a prebuilt HP desktop containing it? Does someone from here own it? And I want to suggest to LTT to do a video on this CPU so we can learn more about it! Thanks

Hello, my setup is Ryzen 7 1800X, Asus X370 prime-pro mother board, radeo rx480 graphics card, 32GB ram and corsair rm650i power supply. I have latest BIOS and my OS is Gentoo linux with latest kernel. My problem is that that my system occasionally hangs. I completely freezes and i have to reboot it. I had the similar peoblem before it started the same, with occasional hangs, than it started to reboot under load. I thought it was bad CPU. I RMA the CPU and i have new one, but now i am thinking if there is some other problem, maybe with mother board. Do you have any ideas?
