Hi all, I've been having a problem with my pc the past few months where every so often at random times my mouse cursor will lag out and be really choppy on screen. This doesn't affect the overall FPS of my system, just the mouse cursor. I've tried different mice but it happens on both my Logitech G502 hero and my random wireless amazon mouse I have. I doesn't seem to be an issue with any one part in my pc as none of them are overworked when it happens. It often happens at start up, but also happens during normal web browsing and gaming. It started after I recently upgraded my cpu, ram and mobo from an old i5-4460, msi h81m-p33 mobo and 8gb of corsair valueselect ram. I am running windows 10. I've attached a video I captured of it happening as I was writing this post, you can see task manager in the background has nothing overworked, and the fps of my wallpaper in the very back is unaffected. im not sure whats going on, i have tried everything in the book and no dice. i have checked the ram, reseated the cpu, and gpu. my power supply is good, but i cant get it to boot. on top of this i cant find any sort of debug leds on the motherboard. what do, please help!

Hello everybody, Some weeks ago I have started my pc after 1 month, it didn't start. After debugging other components I have come to the conclusion that my motherboard is fried. I have send the motherboard to service and got the replacement (it was in warranty). Now when I try to boot my pc it turns on then off immediately. I have tried a different motherboard and PSU with my old processor still the same issue (it turns on and off immediately). I have tried to boot up my pc with only PSU, mobo and processor. Hi, Recently I bought a new AIO and installed it into my system which was working completely fine before, however now it won’t turn on at all. At first I thought it might be my motherboard and I had no spare to replace it so I just decided to upgrade while I was at it, yet the problem still occurred. No boot at all only a small click on my PSU which I saw Corsair comment that it is a feature to ensure it is working. I have also tried using a different PSU which didn’t work, as well as different power cables. I also had two red lights show up on the DRAM and CPU which no longer appear after I removed 2 of my RAM sticks but still it refuses to boot other than a flash of light from the motherboards power on button. I am really stuck on what to try to find the problem. So any help would be massive appreciated. Edit: I have now bought a brand new CPU and still no boot. Today was a bad day, I pushed my computer off my desk with the back of my office chair. I was lucky my tempered glass didn’t break but my computer didn’t power on after that. Thankfully I’m currently working on multiple PCs projects so I have a spare AM4 B550 motherboard so I took my 5700X and placed it in the said spare motherboard and it worked fine. I took the CPU that was in this last motherboard to put it in the motherboard that fell off my desk and it worked as well (the other CPU is a 3100). At that point I’ve tested every component that was in the PC that fell off my desk and tested them all with other parts and everything worked fine. Weird… so I reassembled all the parts that were in the PC that fell and now the PC is powering on but I’m getting a CPU led error from my MSI B500m Mortar motherboard, so it doesn’t post… if anyone has a clue of how this is possible and what can I do to test it out that would help me out a lot

Hi guys! First of all have a great end of Year and Holidays. So, as the title states im building a new Rig from the ground up and was planning on buying an R7 5700 to pair along with a Rtx 2060. Then last minute I got a nice deal for a Pristine Used RTX 2070 super and purchased it on a Hype. (Figures..) The thing is... I've already bought a Thermaltake Gx1 500w 80 plus Gold.C and I found out the 2070s eats up almos 220w. So I went into some PSU calculators and on Cooler master's/Outervisions's (BeQuiet's and others) my total Wattage TPD shows as 394w (including mini-Atx Mobo, NVME, Fans and Ram) I didn't had the chance yet to try it out on my own since some components are still under way from amazon. But my question is if such PSU will be able to handle the rig as Is? I've seen some builds here and there that are more than able to sustain similar and even more power hungry builds on 500w PSU. The exact model is Thermaltake Thoughpower gx1 RGB 500w 80 plus gold. Thanks in advance and cheers!

My thoughts and ideas - I normally use my computer for gaming, school-work, and light coding. With college around the corner I figured I could make some upgrades to the PC. - With PC games starting to become more demanding I was wondering if I should give AM5 a chance. Two issues I have with AM5 is everything is insanely priced and will I ever actually use the max power of DDR5 and PCIE Gen 5. - AM4 seems like a great choice from that point of view, but I don't want to spend a fortune on something that isn't going get any new CPUs. - For my next GPU I am looking more towards AMD for the affordability, performance, and security. - I mainly posted this to find more information about AM5. -Or should I wait or just get a PS5 lol

At the beggining sorry but im not native english speaker, so there might be a couple mistakes. Hi i have a problem with Ryzen 5 5600x? Im not sure if cpu is the problem but freezes started after upgrading from intel cpu to ryzen cpu with new mobo and ram. Rest is the same. I have a problem with random freezes, after the computer freeze i cant do nothing, have to reset it with button in case. No matter if im gaming or watching youtube/netflix. I saw few problems with ryzen freezing while low stress but nothing seems to work in my case. I tried turning off xmp but it didnt work. After upgrading to ryzen i installed W11, then the freezes started, thought it was W11 problems so i installed W10, unfortunately its not the windows problem. Event viewer doesnt shot anything. I thought that the temperatures might be too high so i did undervolt, temperatures ale lower, pc passes all stress tests with no problem. I have newest bios for my mobo, installed all drivers for chipset etc. Sometimes pc can freeze even 10 times in 1 hour, sometimes it might work with no problems for few hours. Freezing is completly random and i dont know what might be the problem. Disabled every power saving options in bios, also c-state controll (which was the problem in some cases but not mine, these people had freeze problems while low stress, mine crashes with low and high stress.) Is it possible that the psu i getting older and is causing the problems? I bought this cpu in 2016/2017. Also, is 550W enough for 5600x + 1070? I want to upgrade to 3060ti, if psu is not the problem, will i need to upgrade it anyway to run with 3060ti? I've been having this problem for many months with no solution, back then it wasnt that bad, but its getting worse with time(crashes ale more often). Hello. I have a question. Im on am4 platform, ryzen 9 5950x, 32gb ram, x570 taichi, rx 7900xtx. And i want to know if is worth upgrade to ryzen 7000 series? I mostly game, and do light video editing. I have samsung odyssey g7 32 1440p, 240hz panel, playing mostly fps games like, bf2042, cod mw2 2022, and other games. Most of the time i play at high or ultra settings. Trying to update the bios for this motherboard so I was going to get a cheap CPU off of eBay but all the cheap ones are Bristol ridge CPUs like the a6 to a12 stuff and those are supported by the motherboard under the current bios version. With the new bios version though Bristol ridge support gets removed when adding support for 5000 series. My question being is it good to update the bios with this type of CPU or will it be an issue?

Is this erroneous as I suspect? As far as I can tell they are perfectly compatible. Or is there something I'm missing? Any info is appreciated. Hello, good night. Im building a Simple office pc with an Athlon 200GE 4Gb DDR4 Ram Biostar A320MH The problem is, that all the pc components are working properly, with the exception of the psu, which is a Delta DPS-300AB-9, a 300w With active PFC PSU The motherboard works with another psu, and the psu works with another motherboard, but both don't work together What could be the problem? (if i let the psu plugged into the motherboard and turn it on, even though nothing spins, the chipset starts getting warm after some time, is this a good thing?) (Edit 1) More details, with the old psu, it works fine. so the motherboard and all other components are good, as for the psu, it also works fine when connected with another motherboard, tested all rails, and all are bringing the voltage that they were suposed to (Edit 2) The chipset got warm only once, then, i couldn't do it again with the new psu, using the old one everything works fine. I've made sure the new psu is 100% ok, measured every single line, and all voltages are correct. the motherboard is also working perfectly (Edit 3) When i short the two power pins on the motherboard, the psu just doesn't start even though, neither the psu, or the motherboard are with problems.

Hello everyone, A few days ago i build a pc with my younger brother, (my third build if that is relevant). After a few hours of gaming the monitor turned to a no imput error and now it does that too on boot, i mangaged to get into the bios at one point. it said something about the bootdrive and trying to fix it. The parts i have checked so far are: Ram Graphics card (incluiding switching the slot its in) Monitor All cables and connections Bootdrive ( i put in my own ssd with os without any change) PSU Clearing the cmos If anyone knows a possible fix i would really appreciate it. Possible relevant info Graphics card rtx 260 super AM4 platform if more info is needed feel free to ask

Earlier I was only looking for gaming performance but I sold my last PC to prepare for a huge trip to Indonesia. Now that I needed to return to Germany, I plan on creating a Youtube channel, stream some single player video games and maybe even program a small server or at least get into Linux later. Aim Well I currently do not have a PC and my Elitebook G1 840 from HP doesn't offer the calculation power to run DaVinci Resolve 16. It lacks CPU performance as well as a GPU (I like CUDA support for rendering). But for office work I cannot complain. It taught me alot about how to get along with limited ressources. Hey, I was looking to build a 1000 Euro Budget Pc, and was aiming at 144fps+ for FPS shooters, as like R6 siege, CSGO and Valorant and other games. I just had some questions about my gpu,cpu choice. Should i downgrade my cpu and my gpu to a Ryzen 5 2600 and a rx5700 (force flashed into a xt) in order to buy a decent ssd? Or should i stick with a Ryzen 5 3600 and a rx5700 XT? Hiya, I've tried the search function and reading the stickies, but there doesn't seem to be a way to find which ITX motherboards support Ryzen 3rd gen out of the box. I have seen plenty of websites with B450 ITX motherboards advertising 1st & 2nd gen, whereas the manufacturer says 3rd gen too... I know the prevailing wisdom seems to be "the stock will be newer by now and will therefore have newer BIOS" but I don't want to risk spending the £££ and end up with an unusable product. Returns are difficult at the moment with the covid lockdown in my country. Besides contacting the retailer (much more difficult due to holiday weekend where I live, and current covid situation) are there any sure-fire ways of knowing 100% for sure: Whether the motherboard BIOS can be updated without a CPU? Whether the motherboard I get delivered will support 3000 series? Many thanks in advance

First post! Have been watching LTT on YouTube for a while, and I've been struggling with trying to figure out what options I have. Small business owner, haven't been able to give myself a paycheque in a while, and trying to do some side-gigs while we had to shut down completely because of COVID-19. My current system is old. Just spent $30 to upgrade the CPU, $40 on 8gb more memory. But it's not enough. Sometimes I'd play Starcraft 2. 3. Monitors 2 monitors. Hopefully I can upgrade to better ones in the future, but I only plan on having 2. 4. Peripherals None needed. 5. Why are you upgrading? I find that my CPU is often in the 60-100% range, memory usage was close to 100% all the time, but with the extra ram has gone down to 60% or so on average. I can barely do any short video editing, and even batch photo manipulations through Photoshop takes a long time. If I had a LTT video going while trying to do work, the computer (not the internet connection) would start to get choppy, let alone a second video tab with an audio stream. If I try to run SC2, maybe mid-game my system gets super choppy. I know that prices have changed a bit in the last little while for new components, but maybe there are used pre-built system that are still lower priced that could still give a significant boost to performance? Maybe I just need a better graphics card? Or something else... I'm open to thinking outside the box. Thanks for your help!

This has to do with cases as well as motherboards, didn't know what forum to put it in. My two year old HP prebuilt (i know, i know) which cost $499 has two front usb-A and one front usb-C. All three are 3.1 gen 2. For all the issues with prebuilt, why is it that they are able to provide this basic feature, yet case manufacturers and (most) mobo's cannot? I was going to get the NZXT H1 until I found out there isn't one single mobo (AM4) which supports this basic feature. Intel has several but the one AMD board which has it, will not fit the case. Please provide your opinion of why such a basic thing is not being done? I searched forum and see several instances of people asking similar question, just for people to rationalize "Well, I don't really need type-C, I can deal with type-A". I'm sorry but that doesn't fly when you can spend literally any amount of money and still *not* have the functionality. Especially considering that OEM's like HP have been doing it for literally years now... It's 2020! wtf.... (rant over)

I've got a gigabyte AB350M-HD3 paired with a Ryzen 5 3600 with 8x2 16gb kit of 3600mhz Corsair vengeance RGB pro. (don't think the mobo supports 3600 so I'm at 3200) I've tried changing the CMOS by switching off the power putting the new battery in and leaving it for a few minutes and shorting the pins yet it still resets the bios after I switch the plug off

So I was checking witch motherboards to buy since most are out of stock, and I saw that the Asus PRIME B450M-A/CSM returned, but when I checked memory speeds support, it went up to 3466 OC. I already bought my ram, which is 3600mhz C18 (but supposedly with a samsung b die). Will my memory be down-clocked? Or does the motherboard have little to do with this, and its solely dependent on my cpu? I have a ryzen 5 3600, which should support the speed. And when I checked other motherboards, it said on they’re page 3200mhz+, does that mean it will support most ram that go past 3200mhz (3600mhz for instance)? First time building a pc and I’m sooooo confused. Will it run at stock speed with xmp profile enabled? I was also planning on overclocking the ram to get advantage of the infinity fabric.

XPG Hi, I've just built a new PC and I'm able to switch it on, but I'm getting no signal from the monitor. Yes I've tried all the standard solutions. I've tried a different monitor and cable, ensured the graphics card is correctly seated, checked the RAM, checked the switch wires, reset CMOS, etc but to no avail, just the same no signal issue. When I say switch on, the CPU and GPU fans spin fine and RGB lights up, but just no signal. My hardware is as follows: Ryzen 9 2700x RADEON RX580 8GB XPG Spectrix D60G 3200MHz 2x8GB Gigabyte B450M H Aerofoil Integrator 500W Sabrent Rocket Q M.2 1TB SSD This is really frustrating, any help would be appreciated!

i bought a used evga clc 240 water cooler from a friend, but he doesnt have the am4 bracket or standoffs for the cooler anymore. So, i tried looking online to try and find the bracket for the cooler, but all i say was the corsair hydro series. Does anyone know if the hydro series am4 bracket is compatible with the clc 240. If not, where can i find the right bracket and standoffs. pls help T_T

I am planning to get a ryzen 5 3600 for my upcoming pc build. I realized that other chipsets besides the x570 chipset needs a bios update to be compatible with 3rd gen ryzens. I started looking for motherboards with built in wifi in it on pcpartpicker.com (i have no way to run my ethernet cable throughout the whole house) and found the Tuf Gaming x570 plus wifi, but it kept saying there was a warning a warning saying that my water cooler (evga clc 240) wasnt compatible with the motherboard. Do you know if the cooler is compatible with the motherboard, if not, Are there any other built in wifi motherboards compatible with ryzen 3rd gen that i can manually update the bios that you can recommend?
