Ik gpu prices arent good right now so i was going to go ahead and buy the r5 ram and mobo and get the 1070 later is this a good idea? I dont plan to do video rendering and things like that so i dont need more than 4 cores 8 threads.

I have a guy in my town listing two 960's on craigslist for $200, I'm wondering how that performance would compare to a 1050ti by itself. I'm doing a ryzen build in the next few weeks but I don't need a ton of gpu power, does it seem like a good idea to jump on this?

So prices are the same, but should i buy GTX960 or 770

Hello! So lets just say I have a budget of 600 dollars to upgrade this pc. I am gaming on 1080p, so I do not think I need a 1080 or anything. Current specs: *i7- 6700k *GTX 960 mini 2GB *16 GB of 2400 mhz Ram (I have 2 more slots availavle) *2 Terabytes of HDD *120 GB of SSD *Windows 10 *A liquid AIO cooler thats similar to the h50i *Phantom 240 case from NZXT *500W not name brand psu Right now I am thinking of getting a 1070 SC, an EVGA 600B1, and maybe another 8 gigs of ram, 2x4gb. Granted, 16 GB is enough, but I think if I ever sell it it would be good to see 24 gigs of ram instead of 16. Also, should I wait for the 1070ti? Again, I am gaming on 1080p. So I think that a 1060 would do if need be.

Hi, I have a question, I've being hearing everywhere about mining crypto-currencies, to get profit on bitcoin, and I want to try it. I have an old GTX 960, that is just lying around and I wanted it to put it to work. But the thing is I don't have a rig for it, and I do not want to spend money just to get a mining rig. My current system is: a Z720-A PRO MoBo, an EVGA 650g PSU and GtX 1070 Graphics Card. I don't want my 1070 to mine because I heard that it puts the cards to its limits and my cause the card to die sooner. The mother board has 2 PCI-e 3 x16 slots, its compatible with cross fire, but no SLI(also you need the same card to sli/crossfire). So my question is if I throw the card in my system will it work just to mine with that card? or will it be issues with drivers and stuff?

Hey guys, Kinda debating on whether to cry for a week and starve and get the Samsung 960 EVO or cry for two weeks and die of hunger and get the 960 PRO. I'm kinda looking in the 512BG range, I really don't use that much space, as it stands I have spare space on my 120GB SSD, but it's a couple of years old now and kinda slow so I suspect it's half way through it's life. That brings up this question, I don't think I'll be writing to it that much, so does the better write endurance of the Pro even matter, I think this drive will be sold 2nd hand or used in a next generation HTPC long before it degrades, so I doubt the extra endurance is going to be used, are there any other benefits to the PRO other than bragging rights that prove you wasted money on something you'll never 100% use? edit: The PRO 512GB is £299 and the EVO 500GB is £229, so not a massive jump but like an extra stick of RAM flavoured bubble gum

Okay. So I am pricing out GPUs for my first build. I will be running an R7 1700 on an x390 MOBO w/ 16G DDR4 @2400Mhz. My PSU will be bronze rated @ 600W. It's a relatively modest setup, but I think it has a decent amount of room for upgradability in the future. I only have a 60Hz monitor as of now (1280 x 768) I have roughly $250-$300 left for a GPU. I see similar pricing on GPUs w/ 2-6Gb of physical memory, but all of them have different clock speeds. I'm pretty lost. It's a lot to take in and I want to make a good investment. I will be playing a lot of sandbox/open-world games as well as FPS, if that helps. My question is: What is the relation between clock speed and physical memory, specifically? Should I go for the higher clock, or more physical memory? Also, if you have any cards that you can suggest to me, it would be a great help. Right now, I have my eye on this Zotac GTX 960 Amp Edition... Am I on the right track? Lol.

Hello, I own a prebuilt Asus g20CB 970 computer. The HDD that come with it is very slow, requiring upwards of 5 minutes to load all of my programs. I am thinking of shelling out a lot of money to buy a 960 pro 1TB M.2 SSD. I am very certaint that my motherboard contains a m.2 slot, though I am double checking. I just want to know if the size would work on it. I can never get some of the screws out and are already going to pay the geek squad 30$ to install it (Yes I know, I'm sorry.) It is a pretty small case so I don't know if it is going to actually fit in. Thanks for all responses.

Hello, I bought a Dell Inspiron 15 (7559) around Christmas of 2016 as an upgrade from my old Toshiba Satellite; I was getting more into video production (Premiere, After Effects etc.) so I needed something a little better and efficient than the Satellite. Since the Inspiron had a GTX 960M, i7 6700HQ, 8G DDR3, 1T HDD etc., it was great for all my needs. It ran me $699 on Dell's website during their sale. ($799 Laptop everywhere else) Now, I recently I ran into the ASUS15.6" FX Series Gaming Notebook; has an i7 7700HQ, 8G DDR4, 128GB M.2 SSD +1T HDD, GTX 1050 GPU etc. (Advertised for $849) https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1321774-REG/asus_fx53vd_es74_i7_7700hq_16gb_1tb_gtx1050.html I was wondering if selling my Inspiron 15, paying off the difference and getting the ASUS 15.6" FX Series Gaming Notebook for the increased performance out of the GTX 1050 and other components would be worth the money and hassle? Thanks.

Hello I was thinking of upgrading my setup to include 3 1966x1080 24" monitors instead if the single one I have now. Currently I have a MSI GTX 960 2GB and I was wondering if it was a better idea to upgrade my graphics card before getting more monitors or if the 960 can handle gaming on three monitors. Thank you in advance for any help.

I have an question, i am looking forward to buying a Samsung 960 Evo 500gb SSD. But i dont know if it wil work with my current motherboard m.2 slot. My motherboard is an AsRock z97m Fatality Killer, it has an m.2 slot but it says its a pci-e gen 2 slot. My question is can i use a 960 EVO in that slot or would it just not work? I am not that educated not m.2 nvme drives so i really dont know. some sources say it will work other dont. I did look in the memory support list and there was a Samsung SSD that uses the same interface ( Pcie gen 3 x4) in the list. ( SM951 (MZHPV512HDGL)). That confused me even more. I hope anyone can help. links: Mobo: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty Z97M Killer/

I bought it thinking it was 4GB, in fact, he told me it was, my plan was SLI so I could boost my frames for a bit. So, my friend has a computer with does not have a graphics card. I gave my old card to him and went over there to intall it. It's a Geforce 960 2gb btw. When everything was plugged in and we fired up the pc I worked fine. Until we started CSGO and it would not start, it popped up a window how said that it did'nt work aswell with a lot of numbers, i don't remember. Then I started LOL with worked, we got into a game and everything. Just that it was an avrege of 2 fps. Hey Last August I bought a used 980Ti and swapped it out for my 960. Ever since then my computer has been performing worse in certain games eg: Overwatch and CS:GO. However in The Witcher 3 i can run everything on ultra and still get above 60FPS I bought the 980Ti because I have a 144hz monitor. I really don't care about the graphics so in most FPS games i run everything at low settings to get atleast 144fps In Overwatch my settings are everything set to low/off with 75% render scale. In teamfights where the framerate matters, i get around 90 fps. My 960 used to get around 120 with the same settings. Same thing goes for CSGO, much lower framerate than what i used to get. UserBenchmarks: Game 90%, Desk 66%, Work 47% CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 - 74.1% GPU: Nvidia GTX 980 Ti - 99.7% SSD: Samsung PM810 2.5" 7mm 128GB - 47.9% HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1TB - 115.3% RAM: Kingston HyperX DDR4 3200 C18 2x8GB - 67.9% MBD: Asus B150M-A My PSU is a VS550 from Corsair. I know it's bad but my system was a prebuilt system 4 years ago. They cheaped out on the PSU Ram is being bottlenecked by my mobo because it only supports up to 2133Mhz I formatted everything today and re-installed Windows on my SSD just to absolutely make sure there's nothing wrong with a driver or something like that. Is my GPU being bottlenecked by my processor? Do I have to invest in a better mobo/CPU? Perhaps i need a more powerful PSU? I'm running out of ideas here. I'd love some help

I have a motherboard with 2x6 pin power connectors from the motherboard to the psu. I want to add a graphics card, but want to know if there are any limitations because of the 2x6 pin connectors instead of the standard 24 pin? The graphics card I want to add is either a 750 ti, 950 or 960. The power supply is 450w, so no problem there. The motherboard I am using: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=1JW-000M-000T5

So I got a GTX 960 from my friend, he had it for a while he had acquired somehow for a while. He gave me the card and it has 1 issue, it's missing 4 chips. I know it's a high probability it is unfixable, but I want to give it a shot. I took it apart and the board is pristine under the fan and the back looks fine except for those 4 chips. Anybody know where I can find the chips to repair it? I plan to clean the solder off, put solder beads, insert the chip partially while it's till hot, then bake it in my GPU toaster oven i've used for my other 960.

Hi, I recently got a fake gtx 960 4gb. I'm trying to identify the card with no luck. I read around that the fake 960s are usually gts450 but the gpu isn't the gf106 or the gf116 (second rev gts450). The only thing i confirmed was the memory. There are 8 memory chips, from Samsung, 1gb of gddr5 total. The gpu has a weird name on it "PFU261.M00" also "12C2B433 1207A1 - S TAIWAN" I also have a CH341A programmer because nvflash didn't work. My question is, what bios to load in to the bios chip? (it's a PM25LQ020) Tried to find by matching the bios version i saw in the fake bios, tried to find by matching the board id number, tried to find by matching all of the above, plus the outputs that the card has. Also, on the board, there is a spot where a 6pin connector could be soldered but there no connection going to these solder points. Btw, when a flash the card with a bios, most of the times, the pc boots up but the screen is FILLED with vertical and horizontal lines and a few seconds later i get a bsod about nvlddmkm(i think?). Other times, the pc just wont boot and stays on a black screen just before the windows login screen. Can anyone help me flash the card to the original? Thank you so much in advance! Alex.
