Hi guys! I am building a new gaming PC, I am going for the 5700XT since it gives the best performance in its price range. I was wounder what CPU you would recommend? Right now I am thinking about the i5 9600K. I will be playing 1440p. Is it worth the money going to i7 for gaming? Wilm i5 bottleneck? Thanks!

Hello everyone, this is a bit of a long read but hopefully u can help me out. 1. Budget & Location I am located in Canada, Unfortunately alberta is 10x colder than bc and I plan to spend about 1800$-2000$ cdn (roughly equals to 1400-1550 $US and 1070-1200 $CAD) I am on this strict budget and cannot go above because I will work a bit before and for my entire school break. 2. Aim The main focus is going to be gaming (75hz 1920x1080 monitor) and watching Youtube videos. I might potentially go pro, but school will severely limit me. I play mostly fortnite(please don't criticize it), but i intend to move to other games like apex, and possibly rainbow six siege With my current hardware pick I'll get 3 months of gamepass on pc for free so there's a wide variety of games for me to play. 5. Peripherals There's no plan the purchase new peripherals(but possibly a headset). Currently on Logitech G502 hero, G213 progidy, and some cheap sony headset i got 2 years ago for like 30-40$ 5. Why are you upgrading? Well as i said this is my first build, before i used to play on a trash 700$ amd r4 laptop with integrated graphics, then i moved to an xbox, but i hate the xbox live gold u have to buy and i enjoy pc gaming more anyways here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor $419.75 (@vuugo.com) Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black 55 CFM CPU Cooler $94.95 (@amazon.ca) MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard $282.10 (@amazon.ca) G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $124.99 (@amazon.ca) Crucial P1 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $130.62 (@shoprbc.com) Asus Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Video Card $519.00 (@canadacomputers.com) Cooler Master MasterCase H500 ATX Mid Tower Case $129.99(@memoryexpress.com) Corsair RM (2019) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply $129.99 (@corsair.com) Corsair ML120 75 CFM 120 mm Fans $39.99 (@amazon.ca) is there anything i need to know or anything i'm missing I'm not sure whether i need to upgrade my monitor from before because i might potentially be bottlenecking my system, I will get windows 10 like a couple of days after i build the pc, and is my power supply good enough or should i upgrade to a 750w one? Here is another way to view the parts https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/Deekzie/saved/#view=m7FDxr

So, i recently upgraded to Ryzen 3600 from an old i5 4690k and now i'm thinking of also moving away from my EVGA 980ti ACX2.0. I run the set up in a NZXT H200 with a front mounted AIO so i have around 270mm of GPU room to play with and no more that 45mm thickness i believe?! Anyhow, i'm kinda stuck on what to pick as there aren't many 5700XT cards that will fit in this case, and also i still only game at 1080p 144hz so unsure whether its worth the upgrade. Seems my two/three main option are the Sapphire 5700XT Pulse, the Powercolour Red Dragon (not to be confused with the red devil) and potentially the MSI MECH OC. From reviews seems my two best options are the pulse or the red dragon. Anyone have any experience with either of these in a NZXT H200i or equivalent when it comes to temps? as that is my main worry in this case. Is it worth the upgrade for 1080p gaming? (do plan on going for a 1440p monitor soonish). What are people opinions?

Hi lovely people, I have never done setting up dual monitors so have I been here to ask helps. I am getting a gigabyte 5700xt in few days and also a new monitor, my old xl2411z does not have dp port so I want to make a dual monitor setup, my new monitor is for gaming and connecting video card via dp port, my old one is for social loafing and connecting same video card via HDMI. 1) will this setup work? 2)if not, what is the right steps to do 3)if it work, are there any performance decrease(i.e fps drops) than just using one monitor to play games? thanks

My only other option, to get the performance i want, is the 2070 SUPER and where i live it's way more expensive than the 5700 XT. Have all the terrible driver issues been ironed out by this point? If so, what's the current status of the drivers?

Not too long ago, I bought myself a Sapphire RX 5700XT. When i booted up some games like GTAV and Minecraft, I noticed some slight shadow "artifacts" showing up. It was the newest software released, so I rolled back the driver until it was safe. I then started to notice that, sometimes with alt-tabbing out of siege or GTAV would result in a freeze. More likely with GTAV, but still annoying as I had to do a hard reset. Recently, siege came out with an update to support the Vulkan API. I went in-game and, even though the menus seemed choppy at best, it ran better than the regular game. I played a few games, but very rarely would it freeze in between rounds, but it would fix itself in ~5s. Now, every 20-30 seconds or so, my screen freezes with my mouse unable to move, but audio can still play. Just as it did in siege, but on my desktop and a lot more frequent. I opened task manager, and I found out that whenever a freeze happens, the "Copy" graph shows a usually big spike (5 cells apart.) Also, when the freeze subsides, I can spot a program of the Radeon application close, as if it were open during the freeze and only the freeze. I've dealt with many problems with my computer, especially recently, so I'd like to fix this too. I have a Ryzen 5 2600x, 32GB of 2133 RAM (kinda spooked to overclock), and a RX 5700XT. I can provide more information as needed, and this backstory may be a bit much, but I have no experience with a faulty part (if it is that) and I think it helps. TL;DR: Had slight "artifacts" early in my use in certain games, then recently had noticeable freezes both in-game and desktop. Wondering if it's a faulty piece of hardware, software, or both. Thank you all for your time.

Section 1: Just for context. Not important. You may skip to section 2. I am a casual gamer. 4 months ago I decided to build my first PC. Joined this forum, devoured every video on Linus, Bitwit, Jayz2cents & Indian gamer. Post research of 3 months, put together my pc 1 month ago. Specs are as follows: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 - Rs 15500 Cooler: Cooler Master 240mm MB12 Liquid Cooler MoBo: X570 TUF Gaming Plus Wifi Graphics: PowerColor Red Dragon 5700XT - Rs 34900 Ram: G Skill Trident Z Neo 3600Mhz - Rs 10600 SSD: Silicon Power M.2 Nvme 512 GB - Rs 5500 PSU: RM850(2019) Case: Cooler Master H500 The pc posted in the first go. Windows upload was smooth. No driver issue. It worked perfectly. Section 2: Important I started with playing CS Go and Battlefield 1. CS Go worked like a charm, 290FPS at top settings. Battlefield 1: Worked well. 150FPS at Ultra Settings. But often crashed with the following error: " directx function "DX11 Renderer::tryMap" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED ("The video card has been physically reomved from the system, or a driver upgrade for the video card has occurred. ").GPU:"AMD Radeon RX 5700XT", Driver:19.12.2. This error is usually casued by the graphics driver crashing; try intsalling the latest drivers. Also, make sure you have a supported grpahics card with at least 2GB. " After a month, I decided to move from Battlefield 1 to Battlefield 5. The driver of the card(5700xt) was up to date. This where the issue started. The game was super stuttery on the first start. Clicks were getting registered with a 1 min delay. Somehow reached video settings, and changed display settings from 60hertz to 144hertz. Instantly, everything was smooth. Played the game for half an hr and then suddenly screen went dark, no Display. Display port was not detecting. After doing all the checks, found out the the graphics card is dead. The service center confirmed. Card will now be replaced in 30-45 days. rented a 1050ti for the time being. Computer is working again with no problem. Yet to start a game. Questions: As a first time builder, i might sound paranoid, but really wanna know what happened here: Q1: Where can the issue be? Is it just bad card? Or could have i done something software or assembly wise that could have killed the card? Note: the card never went over 80 degrees (94 degree junction) anytime. The reason that I am worried about this is that I assumed that Graphics Card are a durable part of a PC. They dont die on miners. Thats probably why they are confident to give 3 years warranty. What happened here. Q2: For the time being, will CS Go and Battlefiled 5 run on 1050ti?

So I have an RX 5700 XT Gaming X, it works great and I love it. But I wanted to do a comparison with my RX 580 4G. So I swapped cards and booted up Windows. I got a benchmark just fine using this card. Then I tried using adrenaline 2020 software to overclock it by selecting the tuning section and have it auto overclock. As soon as I selected the option to overclock GPU the screen went black and the fans ramped up to 100%. I then shut the system off and then booted it back up hoping it would just reset itself. It did not.... So I thought trying the 5700 XT would maybe solve it but I was mistaken. After numerous attempts at windows support, resetting the bios (by taking the motherboard battery out and putting back in while the system is off) and trying to boot in safe mode from a black screen I have no other ideas what I could do. Can anyone offer anything I could try without losing the data on my storage drives? Because windows support recommended to fresh install Windows. I don't see how I could do that with no display. So please somebody help me out this is my first PC build and is the worst problem I've had so far. Thanks in advance.

I was playing battlefield 5 and my screen went blank. The issue is not with the display as i connected the pc to another screen and didnt work. Both display port and hdmi give no display. Opened the case, and the graphics card fans dont run on booting. They used to before. The last thing i can check if the power supply cable to gpu not working. Everything else seems to be working. Is it safe to assume that the issue is with the graphics card? Is anything else i should check. powercolor red dragon 5700xt on x570 motherboard with r5 3600, 16 gb ram.

Anyone know if the Kraken G12 will work with the 5700xt? Pretty sure it's a reference PCB model, it's the XFX RAW II RX 5700 XT. I've seen posts saying it will or people "think" it will but I would like to know if anyone has tried it. I don't have the card yet and am just looking at options for a build I'm planning on reselling and want to get a decent GPU in the system, I have heard the 5700XT runs hot so if I can might as well liquid cool it if I go that route.

Hi guys, I find myself in a privileged position of having two GPUs EVGA 1080Ti SC2 and a Sapphire 5700XT Nitro+ At the moment I can use only one of those, but I am planning, in the future, to build an unraid system with pass-through etc. For the time being I can't decide which GPU to keep as primary cause from what I can see both have pros and cons. I am playing at 1440p 144hz free-synch (g-sync compatible) display but above 60fps is ok. As cpu an old i7 4790k @ 4.7Ghz 5700XT: newest, drivers focussing it (hopefully some gain over time?) I like new drivers feature like image sharpening 1080Ti: slightly more powerful in certain games more mature drivers (but no focus or improvements on it) I've read reviews about the two and it looks like AMD is a bit more silent, but more power hungry and hotter than nVidia Until now the games on which I've tested them are limited to titles from few years ago like Forza Horizon 4, The witcher, etc. Anyone with more experience on the above to help me formulating a more data driver choice. Thank you very much for your help

5700xt RX5700XT Red Dragon High Temperature (Idle & Gaming)
SaltPepper posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Just build a New Rig with PowerColor RX 5700 XT Red Dragon with Ryzen 5 3600 Case: Tecware Alpha M (using default give 3 case fans) Monitor: 2 (1x144hz & 1x60hz) Gaming: 85+- degree Celcius(F1 2019 - Ultra Setting) Idle Temp ~50 degree Above temperature seems to be on the high side and I'm alittle worries. 2intake 1 outlet fan The temperature is taken according to Radeon Software's overlay. Tried Custom Fan Curve, Auto undervolt GPU. like not much use. Already switch back to default According to this video running F1 2019 Red Dragon Temperature was only hovering around 70+- Degree Celcius -
Hello everyone I need help with my decision to upgrade from my current GPU to a better newer one. at first I was impressed by the price and power of the new 5700xt from and but a local pc shop told me that the step would be a bit small for my pc and suggested the 2070super I don’t know much about GPU’s and don’t know what do to. currently I’m playing on a ultrawide Monitor from LG with the resolution 2560x1080 with 75 hz. in the future I want to play on a ultrawide 2560x1080 but with 144 hz. i really don’t care to much about the looks of my game rather that my FPS and fluency of the game what would you recommend me to do thank you for the answers in advance ? Hi guys, looking to buy all my parts during black friday/boxing week sales. It’ll be the first PC that I’m putting together on my own. 1. Budget & Location 2000 CAD (+200 max; without peripherals). Would prefer to keep it on the lower side so I can use the money on monitors and peripherals. 2. Aim To mainly game on a 1440p 144hz monitor. Mostly into single player/rpg/cinematic games. Will be playing titles like Cyberpunk/RDR 2 and also similar games released in the past 5 yrs or so (like tomb raider and assassin’s creed series). I also recently started using Blender. Not professionally, just as a hobby. Might lead to using other audio/video editing in the future as well so would like to keep this option open. Other than that, just regular use. Usually have about 50-80 tabs open on Firefox, listen to music and have a few apps running in the background. I should also mention I never turn off my PC. It’s on 24/7 unless I’m going way for a weekend. 3. Monitors Havent bought any but planning to get one 32” 1440p 120hz+ (something like tuf gaming vg32vq or dell s3220dgf) If you guys have any recommendations, I’ll take it (fyi I also had a thread in the monitor forum but not much luck). And then eventually I’ll add a 4K monitor. 4. Peripherals What are some good wireless KBs and mice? I really like the Corsair lapboard but I need a small mouse because I have tiny hands…..think Deadpool haha 5. Why are you upgrading? Current PC is too old (1st gen intel i5). Cant even keep up with the regular workload. Unable to game/render. Here is the PC Part Picker list Questions/Notes 1 - I know the PSU is overkill and some consider the OLED panel just a gimmick but I kinda like that gimmick…..sorry I guess?.....But if you guys know of any performance issues, I’ll gladly change it though. 2 - For RAM - should I go for tighter timing but 3200? It’s $5 more. I’ve been reading Ryzen loves fast memory so that’s why I chose the 3600 plus it’s $5 cheaper. And I don’t have to have RGB memory so if there is a better alternative without RGB (like Ripjaws V), I’ll consider it. Thanks. 3 - As for why I chose x570, because I read that it will be supported for the next few gens. And I plan/hope to upgrade in a few years. If there is a better x570 board with similar price let me know. 4 - The case (GT501) is at it’s lowest I’ve seen in the past 3-4 months. Should I buy it now or still wait couple of weeks? I just don’t Amazon to jack up the price. 5 – I didn’t add any SATA HDD because I bought a 10TB Seagate Backup+ that I’m planning to shuck. 6 - Do I need a better cooler than the Wraith Prism if I'm not planning to oc? I mean I might just try to see 'if I can' but it wont be anything heavy or permanent. Sorry for the long post, hope I didn’t miss anything. Thanks for any advice.

OHAI! My initial plans for a case did not pan out, so I am looking for recommendations on alternatives. Having spend the past couple of days looking through reviews and listings, I'm finding that getting an overview is not as straight forward as I could have hoped. The build has been sitting on my desk, in use for a little over a month, and I am quite happy with the (lack of) noise from the fans. So I am not specifically looking for a case which offers additional damping, but would prefer that the geometry of one not result in *more* noise. My preference tracks towards Lian Li style boxy over high tower, no LED, no glass, no Transformers styling, no wild colouring. That said, I am most likely going to move the case to sit on the wooden floor (decent bottom fan intake / outlet) below my desk. I quite like the Lian Li 011 (optimally with the glass swapped for a metal side panel with a 200mm fan fitting), but unfortunately it does not offer sufficient clearance for my CPU cooler. This is what I currently have sitting on my desk: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor $326.99 @ SuperBiiz CPU Cooler Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler $89.90 @ Amazon Motherboard Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard $315.99 @ SuperBiiz Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $139.99 @ Amazon Storage Corsair MP600 Force Series Gen4 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $189.99 @ Amazon Storage Corsair MP600 Force Series Gen4 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $189.99 @ Amazon Storage Seagate IronWolf Pro 8 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $269.99 @ Adorama Video Card Asus Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB STRIX Gaming OC Video Card $459.99 @ Amazon Power Supply Corsair RMx (2018) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply $119.89 @ Amazon Case Fan Noctua NF-R8 redux-1800 PWM 31.37 CFM 80 mm Fan $9.94 @ Amazon Case Fan Noctua NF-R8 redux-1800 PWM 31.37 CFM 80 mm Fan $9.94 @ Amazon Case Fan Noctua NF-A20 PWM 86.46 CFM 200 mm Fan $29.95 @ Amazon Case Fan Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM 60.1 CFM 120 mm Fan $29.90 @ Amazon Case Fan Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM 60.1 CFM 120 mm Fan $29.90 @ Amazon Case Fan Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM 60.1 CFM 120 mm Fan $29.90 @ Amazon Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $2242.25 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-11-24 05:14 EST-0500 Any recommendation / other advice or pointers would be highly appreciated.

I found a deal for a 5700xt ( Sapphire VGA Radeon RX 5700 XT 8G Pulse ) for 369€. Regular prices are around 410-420€. For comparison 2060S goes for around 430-440€ regularly and 207s for around 500+€. There is one model ( MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB Super Armor OC ) for 390€. Do you think that the 5700xt is a good deal? I will be mostly playing racing sims, unfortunately not in VR for now, mainly in 1080-1440p.

Hi everyone so I'm stumped today because my brand new computer seems to not be working. I should preface this by saying I have notoriously bad luck with buying PCs whether it be custom building or pre-building and for safety measures I did indeed have a pre-built made. I wanted to just see if you guys can tell me if there's something wrong with them or if there are any issues that I should be aware of. (my specs) GPU AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT CPU AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 8 Cores 16gb of ram (link of machine) https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gaming-desktop-amd-ryzen-7-3700x-16gb-memory-amd-radeon-rx-5700-xt-2tb-hdd-240gb-ssd-black/6362428.p?skuId=6362428 The reason why I have created my account and why I'm posting here is because I don't exactly know where else to turn to get proper Tech advice I've been talking with my CS major friends and even then were a little stumped. I have a new pc of course with the RX 5700 XT 8gb from ASROCK Along with an AMD ryzen 7 3700x. so far I've had an amazing time with the PC which I should also mention is Built by cyberpowerpc. however, while I have been playing Monster Hunter world, my computer has a black screen both of my monitors. For reference, I'm using an HDMI cord for a 60-hertz monitor in 1080P along with a DisplayPort cord for a 144 Hertz 27 inch 1440p monitor. The issue starts when I usually am pretty deep into the game and getting into some action and then suddenly the screen slightly freezes and then turns black and my monitors act like they have no signal. during this time I can hear any audio and I can still speak to my friends on Discord however I cannot see anything on the screen. The first time this happened I did pull my desktop out of the little compartment I hold it in which mind you is very open area it just sits under my desk and I listen to it there and i heard the GPU buzz. after doing some quick Google research I learned that that meant that it was under high stress. later on, I downloaded hwmonitor and watched my thermals and along with any other items to see if maybe the GPU was overheating like many people said the GPU does because it runs very hot. then I left my PC running the same game for 2 hours with the GPU at 99% where it did not black screen I even when i was playing the game at the time. afterward, I did go into radian to go check if there was a new driver or something that was causing the issue, last night on the 4th of January they did drop a new driver and after looking through the patch notes it said the following. (under fixed issues) “A black screen may occur when Performance Metrics Overlay is open and changing game resolution.” https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-19-12-3 After that point, I thought that most of my issues were fixed even though I wasn't all tabbing in and out of the game or causing anything that would make it change resolution rapidly. sadly again it did cause that again so I looked around more to see if there was any other things that I could do to probably fix this. I did quickly open up the PC to check if there was anything loose the ram in the GPU did not make any large clicking noises so I quickly removed the bolts securing the GPU in place and then took it out blue on it and put it back in just to see if there was any dust in the actual PCIe slot. I'm currently testing the PC at now and will give any update if it happens again however I would really appreciate your guys' help. I should also add that I do have a one-year warranty cuz I did buy this from the Best Buy and they said that I can return it for any purpose and exchange it for a new one so there's no pressure but I would prefer seeing if I can fix the issue before I have to drive across town to make that happen. -Bluzie
