Hey, I am a 3D Artist and gamer and now looking to upgrade my graphics card because my current one is dying. Upon my research i faced the obvious problem of the market being more confusing than math in 5th grade when letters first got introduced. I don't know what i should be getting honestly. The budget is fairly liberal as i still can probably sell my current gpu (5700XT) for a good chunk of money as it only struggles in DX11 games (which is sadly the majority on steam rn). Any advice on what would be best to get is greatly appreciated. Things that i "need": an NVIDIA GPU (got some sweet technology for 3D Stuff) NOT an 3090 or 3080Ti as this would be overkill a gpu that could be waterblocked in the future or even comes with a waterblock like some evga cards. Btw i Live in germany but dw about that i will figure out how i could get my hands on a similar one here. Thank you in advance.

First of all, hello everyone. It's great to write here on LTT Forum. Budget (1400€): Country: Italy Used for:I will use the PC for 3D graphics and rendering, BIM and CAD / CAM, software use like Rhinoceros, AutoCAD, Revit, Blender Other details: Part list: 12700k MSI MAG Z690 Tomahawk WIFI DDR4 (a bit expensive but I would like to overclock in the future) Seasonic FOCUS GX-850 Gold Kingston FURY Beast RGB 32GB 3600 DDR4 (CL18) Crucial P5 Plus PCIe 4.0 1TB ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 360 A-RGB (it seems that it is more reliable than competition) MetallicGear Neo Qube ARCTIC P12 PWM PST A-RGB (3x120mm) X2 (1 kit for side and 1 for bottom) I have a Q6600 since 2007 with 8GB RAM, refreshed in 2015 with an SSD and a GTX 750 Ti, I will buy the components from Amazon that guarantees me to avoid customs and extra VAT, I am not particularly interested in gaming (although I love video games) The reason why there is no GPU in the list is that at the moment I can't / want to spend money on the shortage of GPU in the market. I think it is better to bet on a fast CPU and temporarily use the 750ti (please do not laugh ). In the future, maybe find a powerful average RTX to switch to the GPU rendering. Do you think it's the case to change the mobo as suggested by Igor'Lab and add the washers to avoid bending the CPU? I am open to any advice or suggestion. thank you all for your attention

Budget (including currency): Not sure Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Intense 3d workload from rendering to painting, no gaming at all Hey community! I am planning on updating my workstation, a bit outdated (Bi xeon 2630). I was waiting on getting hands on some threadripper but it's impossible to get, and the new gen sounds very costly. I don't care about Amd or Intel, I am just looking for maximum performance for 3D rendering but also single thread when I do painting or specific tasks. The only thing I won't change is my 3090 obviously. I am thinking about the amd 5900x series vs the intel 12900K series, Any recommendations from you expert peoples? Cpu is still my main rendering engine for now Also, I saw MSI is doing some sort of Content creation motherboard, is it worth it? or It's just a gadget. I love Asus and I always get their workstation Mb, they last for ever. Anyway, thanks a lot for reading and for your insights! It will help me create more free 3d tutorials for you in exchange

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me find the best rendering laptop for roughly £1500 UK. Ideally we are looking to get the best value for our money, screen resolution is not a crucial factor so no cost needs to go into 165hz refresh rates or 4k, we just need performance and a colour accurate display. We plan on utilising Vray through 3DS Max and Sketchup but more compatibility the better. I looked around but anything decently priced seems out of stock so hoping there are some hidden gems out there. Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Jamie

Budget (including currency): $5000 AU Country: Australia Hi guys, I am planning to build a new PC (my first DIY build) for my 3D/Graphics work and wanted to get some last minute advice. I’ll be primarily using Zbrush, Maya, Adobe CC and some sound production software. I already have the motherboard and CPU which I bought as a combo, I’m planning to order the other parts over the weekend so this is kind of last minute double check in case I missed something or made a critical error, if you could please let me know if I’ve made some mistake with component choice or if there is a more optimal choice for better performance any advice is greatly appreciated. Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus x570 Ultra Ryzen 9 5950x CPU Corsair vengeance LPX 32gb 3600 RAM x2 for a total of 64gb 16gb per chip. Noctua NH-D15 cpu cooler HD1: Samsung 980 pro M.2 500gb HD2: Samsung 980 pro M.2 1TB HD3: Samsung 870 QVO Sata SSD 2TB EVGA 850W SuperNOVA GA Series 80+ Gold power supply Fractal Design R7 case Noctua NF12 120mm case fan. EVGA RTX 3080 (on order since last year) I’m not sure if I should be getting 4x16gb ram modules or go for 2x32gb instead. I’m also not sure if I should get a liquid cooler for the CPU instead of the air cooler. Do I have enough case fans? 3 come with the case and one extra noctua NF12 fan? Thanks in advance.

Hi people! Like in the tittle, where to start with 3D modeling? I've played a little with blender but it didn't click with me. I want to create, sculpt or remix assets freely preferable to the point of being able to later print or use those in animations or games. Sculpting and modeling from scratch is my main goal with low poly and texturing as a side. 4-16 hours per week is my starting point for now but it all depends on many factors. I'm used to photoshop layout and key shortcuts. Here are some examples of what I would really love to be able to create within a year of learning from scratch:

Hi guys, I'm new here so I don't know if there's a place that this would better fit, please let me know, but I'm getting issues with my ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 2060 OC Edition 6GB GDDR6 VR Ready HDMI 2.0b DP 1.4 Auto Extreme Graphics Card (TUF-RTX2060-O6G-GAMING) when i play games. It will spike in 3D usage although the rest of the card isn't halfway used and it will make my pc stutter whenever it hits 100%. I have updated my windows 10 and my drivers and it doesn't seem to fix it. I'm clueless as to what it could be and I'd like to hear from you guys. Thanks! Al_EX

Hello all! I am planning on building and buying some parts after a looong long time! I am mostly hooked to Apple macbooks due to the nature of my profession (I am a designer and companies giving out mostly macbooks). So, my main usage will be around 3D (Blender/rendering/sketching), Adobe (Photoshop, After FX etc) and a good deal of multitasking / video calling etc. I am planning to invest some money now, and not upgrade for years to come (I know this is cliche but I am not really into buying new parts and following the hype). As for gaming I'll consciously try not to game -- at all. Let me know your feedback on my build: Case: Corsair iCUE 4000 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5950x CPU Cooling: CM Liquid 360 Mobo: Asus ROG Strix X570-E RAM: G.Skill TridentZ 64GB 3600 SSD: Corsair Force MP510 1.9TB PSU: Corsair 850W Gold GPU: NVidia RTX 3090 -- I know some parts might sound like an overkill, but remember I'm really into 'upgrade-in-3-5-years mentality'. Also, this is all my budget for the PC I guess - I have peripherals already.

Hi everyone. I have been thinking of ditching my Macbook since it almost always runs hot and struggles when multiple softwares are open. I have a desktop at home but i want to bring my work with me to school and not be forced to go home to do the "heavy" workloads. I'm an architect and work in software applications such as Rhino, indesign, photoshop, premiere pro, lightroom and illustrator, while i run spotify or youtube vidoes on the side. I'm looking for a laptop that can run those applications pretty smoothly and that doesn't go obsolete in a year or so. I live in Denmark and have a budget around 1500$. In Denmark most things are a bit more expensive than US so the budget might be a bit smaller relativily. I dont really play games but i still believe that a dedicated GPU is needed for 3d rhino work, if im not mistaken. It would be a huge help if you people could throw some suggestions/recommendations in a comment, im a little unsure how important GPU and CPU is compared to having a large ssd for this kind of work - and what ram is sufficient. Maybe you have the same kind of work and a good setup for that you can share Thank you, and take care out there! After seeing some of the comments: **** A LAPTOP FROM AMAZON FOR 1450 DOLLARS COST 400$ ADDITIONAL IN DENMARK - price comparison **** Which means my budget is probably around 1200$ relatively

Hi. Next week I will be receiving my first 3d printer (Ender pro 3). I have many projects in mind, but the one that excites me the most is printing a pc case. I saw several videos on YouTube, but I am more interested in knowing if someone has already done it and what was their experience and above all, the durability in the time of printing. Thanks!

Hi everybody! I'm currently studying digital content design (video/image/2d/3d, very versatile) and my current build is struggling a lot with Adobe CC's software suit; especially After Effects and Premiere Pro, when creating 3D animations and editing 4k footage. There's also slowdown/lag with high res images and heavy documents in Photoshop and Illustrator. My current build consists of parts which are about 8 years old, some way older since the gpu, psu and mobo gave up at one point and the current ones are salvaged from an even earlier build. So I wouldn't be surprised if my current build doesn't make much sense. But it's time to move on and upgrade since it's now holding me back. Current build: I'm looking for: A PC build that can handle all types of visual and content creation; video, image, 3D, animation, 4k, raw etc. You name it. Nothing from the old build will be saved, I'm looking for a completely new build. I never game, it will purely be a working horse running content creation software (Adobe CC etc). I do not care for gaming esthetics (black, rgb lights, windowed case), I prefer simple and clean. 1 SSD for the OS and 1 HDD for storage. Speed and efficiency. Budget: 10 000 SEK = 1131 USD Country: Sweden Aim: 3D, animation, video and photo editing, vector graphics etc in softwares such as Adobe CC AE, PR, AI, PS. My current build struggles a lot when it comes to 3D animation, 4k footage, high res images and heavy documents, pretty much everything in other words. Monitors: For starters I will only run 1 monitor and aim for 4k res, but I'd like to be able to run 2 monitors in the future when I have enough desk space. Peripherals: Atm my budget is probably only enough for computer parts, but later on I also plan to purchase a new monitor. Monitor suggestions would therefore be appreciated as well, something suitable for editing with accurate colors, a 4k 27" IPS panel maybe. Mouse, keyboard and OS is taken care of. Why upgrade: I'm a digital content designer student whose current build is made up of 8+ years old parts and as I'm getting more and more into motion design with 3D and animated effects and the resolution of videos, images and documents increase, my current computer is coming up short, to put it mildly. ___ I'm uncertain when it comes to compatibility between components and I'd like to get as much bang for my buck as possible. I therefore reach out to you wise members and I thank you so humbly in advance for your advice and suggestions.

Bfloat 16 is a half precision floating point format that has the same 8-bit exponent as single precision, but only 7 (plus 1 implied) bits of significant. Surprisingly, this turns out to be adequate precision for many machine learning applications, so a lot of resources are being put into making arithmetic in this format run fast. Given that, it would seem to make sense to also try to use it for graphics. Using it for RGB components during calculation, for example, would allow a much wider dynamic range of light sources to be rendered, compared to just trying to calculate with 8-bit integers. At the same time, it could potentially be faster than using single precision floating point for RGB components. Are any existing graphics rendering systems actually using it for such purposes?

blender New desktop for 3d work and casual gaming
highxoltage posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Budget: 2000 usd(might be willing to go 2500) Country: United States of america Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: main concern is blender, however I will be playing a few graphics costly games, eg halo inf, mechwarrior5, and ark. Other details: this is a ground up build, however I will need a keyboard and headset as the only nessicairy peripherals. It will be replacing my msi titan gt80vr laptop, I have a monitor but I don't know it's specs and I do plan on replacing it sometime In the future. -
Budget (including currency): 1000$CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Rainbow Six: Siege, GTAV, Fallout 4/76, Apex Legends, Blender 3.2 (Rendering simple Animations Nothing TOO Demanding), Adobe After Effects (Basic Editing, no big projects), and the RTX is pretty important for me since i do want to run some games with raytracing Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have a pretty above average knowledge in computer hardware, so i picked this part list to fit my needs. I just need to know if i should change out any parts (should still stay within the 1000$CAD Budget) Ill Be buying this soon, but i dont know when EXACTLY but within the next 4 months. i need help with pricing because im getting the parts in 2 different dates The GPU ill be getting near black friday times and i dont know what the sale % will be or if it will even be in stock then and the rest ill be getting earlier than black friday so theyll be closer to MSRP prices (I KNOW the ReadMe Said not to put a list [sorry lol] but i specifically chose these to my needs, BUT would be fine with changing some out) and Im pretty firm on the intel platform Parts I'd Prefer: Intel Core i3-10100F (96$CAD) MSI B560M PRO-VDH WIFI Micro ATX (LGA 1200) [129$CAD] Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8) DDR4 3200MhZ CL16 (73$CAD) Seagate Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM HDD (I already have a 500gb 2.5in SATA SSD Ill be booting off of, the hdd is for video and misc storage) [65$CAD] MSI RTX 3060 12GB VRAM (500$CAD [Again, price May Change during black friday]) Corsair CX650M 650 W 80+ Bronze (Semi-Modular) [Will this Be Enough?] [119$CAD] I wanna buy EVERYTHING new, None second-hand (check edit 2) Total: $982-ish The cpu only has 4 cores so i dont know whether itll be enough for editing but i dont do very excessive editing thatd need like 12 cores, this is my main worry but im willing to change the cpu if the gpu is on sale The gpu may be a bit overkill but as im only 14, i cant really buy another gpu for a few years so ill put that in a new build if i do upgrade a few years in the future Im getting the case seperate to my budget, and need suggestions, but a lesser expensive case would be better. I Already have a 24'' 1440p 75Hz Monitor (i dont wanna get a new monitor as i recently bought that one and my parents wouldnt allow me to buy a new one this early) And i use an old 19'' 1600x900 Monitor as my second monitor as i like to watch videos while doing work or gaming so its not too important for it to be high-res i already have a good keyboard and mouse which i dont wanna change out im upgrading because my current computer is a literal 10 year old intel core i5-2500 HP Workstation my dad gave me for online school classes but i use it for some blender animation (no gaming because it literally cant) I Apologize for writing so much, im just really worried ill buy something wrong and waste money Thank you so much in advance :] Edit: Something ive just realized is that if the GPU is on sale during black friday i can probably fit in a better CPU? so suggestions for that would also be nice) Edit 2: Might look into used GPUs to wiggle in a better cpu

Hello I am a 3D Generalist - C4D, Redshift, After Effects, Premiere, adobe suite etc. USA Based I am looking to build a PC and I have 2 build in mind and just need final guidance on which one to pull the trigger on. I already have the 2 12 GB 3080s so I basically just need to purchase the rest of the machine. My main reason for wanting 2 GPUs was to maximize rendering power/speed since Redshift is a GPU based renderer. Thank you for your guidance. Option A Option B
