rtx 2070 super My new Rtx 2070 super has 2x8 pin connectors?
PainBlame posted a topic in Graphics Cards
So I just got a new graphics card. It's the msi rtx 2070 super gaming x trio. I was waiting 2 months for these to get in stock, and 10 mins after they did, they went out of stock. It's a kool graphica card. Anyways, I think I'm having issues. I dont really have a cable to plug all the connectors in. My standard VGA cable has only 14 input pins, instead of 16. Like it was for the my older 1070 graphics card. I dont know if I doing it wrong, but to get a connector I'm using a 8 pin type 4 generic cable that plugs into the CPU and the other end of the cable has a split that turns into 2x4/2x4 ends. My worry is, that it's not enough power, because the end of the cable that plugs into the CPU actually only has 7 slots instead of 8, because one of the holes, has no metal Input to plug Into. Is this okay? The bottom photo is me actually connecting two entirely separate cables to the graphics card, and it actually worked! But I really dont want to destroy this brand new $600 card.- 14 replies

I currently have a PC with a GTX 1070 and i5 6500, and am selling that to build a new computer: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Torchii/saved/zzg3t6 My only problem is I keep wondering if I am able to squeeze any more performance out of that price, this would be my first time using AMD so I'm not 100% certain as to what that translates to for Intel. Any recommendations for the build? I don't care about RGB or anything, I only really care about it being able to run any game in 1440p way above 60fps, and I will be using the machine for a game development course.

Between a high end 2070, a mid tier 2080( FE base perf), or a radeon vii Currently have a radeonVii recently purchased, but am unsure if I feel buyers remorse? I love the card and it does great and got it for around 630 so a some what good deal. But if you were give the option what would you guys have picked? I chose the radion as it had the perf I wanted but in the back of my mind I'm reminded what an oced 2070 can do and then my thoughts come too the upcoming navi with its rumored perf and I wonder if I should return it and wait. But what do you guys think?

If I get a Ryzen 2600 will it bottleneck my RTX 2070? Would it be best to wait for the Ryzen 3600 to avoid the bottleneck? I'm playing at 1080p 144hz

The frame rates I get in games for the most part are acceptable l, 80 to 90fps but every couple of minutes I get frame drops were that will reduce to around 60 to 54fps which causes a small lag spike. Spec: Asus prime b350 plus Cpu: ryzen 7 2700x (not overclocked Gpu: asus rtx2070 strix Ram: corsair vengeance rgb pro 3000mhz 1 m.2 1 sdd 1 hdd Psu: 750w corsair TX750M (brand new today) Temps are reasonable dont go past 65 when playing games often (cpu) All drivers updated: chipset, audio, lan, gpu Gpu on latest nvidia game ready drivers Latest bios update: version 5204 Ram checks have been done and no issues there(using windows built in tool) Ram clocked up to 3000mhz in bios causes crashing even with timings set up correcty( timings obtained through corsair web page). So ram is clocked just bellow and is stable. Benchmark results: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/19154040 Games include but not limited to: watchdogs 2, farcry 5, no mans sky and assassins creed origins.

Hey guys, Two days ago I build my new PC. With an MSI 2070 Super ventus OC in it. But its not behaving very well. Every now and then when i put load on it, it crashes. No bsod, just a system crash, and my pc starts back up again. It doesnt give me any errors, it just shuts off I know its not the temps because i've never seem it go over 70C really. And it has also crashed the instant i've started a stress test. Through MSI afterburner I've tried to both over and downclock the GPU but to no avail. Right know its back on factory setting where i can run Powermax (gpu stress test) as long as i want, but crashes after 30 seconds of Rainbow six menu. Ill try to give as much info down here; rest of PC; i5-9600k, Msi z390 tomahawk, Samsung nvme 500gb, dark rock pro 4, corsair cx750, corsair vengeance lpx 16gb nvidia driver 431.60 MSI afterburner settings: powerlimit 100%, templimit 83C, coreclock +0, memory clock +0 (factory setting; pretty instable) Right now i thing the base clock goes to 1650mhz and it boosts to about 1860mhz If any questions, please ask, ill be happy to answer them for a solution. I really hope we can solve this, since there are none of these cards available anymore where i live, so returning it would really suck thanks in advance

Not sure if I'm technically supposed to do this here or not (I mean it's about a GPU lol). But I just signed up for the Newegg store credit card and was instantly approved, now I know I'm not going to get the physical card until like a week from now, but obviously that doesn't stop me from making online purchases with it as of right now. I received an email like 2 hours or so ago telling me the EVGA 2070 Super card I've been wanting is back in stock, so I put it in my shopping cart, I put in my information and all that junk, choose the store card as my paying option, and as SOON as I click on the "review order" part, it just removes the card from my shopping cart and goes "The following items have been removed from your cart because they are no longer in stock or it cannot be delivered to your location." Well that doesn't make sense, I live in NY and it says the card is in stock and it's been in stock for like over an hour now. Sooooo what gives? Anyone else ever have this issue?

I've never bought anything from ZOTAC before but I like their design of the 2070 super and it's one of the only ones that's not out of stock...what's everyone's opinions on them as a company?

Hello everyone I have been struggling with a problem the whole day and can't figure it out. My specs: 2200g 2070 MSI Armor 2x8 gb corsair 3000MHz Thermaltake smart 750W MSI gaming plus mobo b450 I wanted to dual boot linux and windows so I decided to install linux on my second HDD(windows is on SSD). I installed it and then I could not boot into windows so I reinstalled windows. So far so good. Then when I got into windows my screen starts to go solid, random colors randomly. I figured its a driver problem so I removed driver with DDU and reinstalled it, no avail. So I switched to my mobo's HDMI output but I can't get it to working, formatted windows bunch of times, ran chkdsk and did secure erase on ssd and reinstalled windows, nope. One time it seemed to work fine, I plugged my hdmi to GPU and ran a benchmark, temps did seemed fine (60-70 max) and average 40 fps on 1080p extreme, so I don't think(hope) my gpu is dead. Then it started to do it again, but this time only happened when I opened/closed any program. Screen would go black for 2-5 seconds and come back. Then I checked event logs thru device manager. It showed nvidia driver would stop working but recovered succesfully, everytime the screen went black. I don't have any more ideas, should I send the gpu back? What else can I do?

Hello world. I am in the market for a new 2070 super card. I currently run with a 1060 6gb from EVGA but it's not going to cut it with VR at 120 fps. I've never had issues with EVGA in the past and usually read reviews heavily before buying anything. But my new valve index come in about a week and I don't want to delay since Super cards are just coming out. Gfx cards in general seem to be a mixed bag of reviews compared to other tech. EVGA's new line up looks kind of like garbage compared to MSI. New cards seem to have more 3 card slots or have 3 fan cards. I also have good cooling in my current case. If I have room for both, do you think I would be fine with just a normal 2 fan 2 slot card? Or is there a much bigger need to have better cooling on 20 series cards? Would you recommend MSI or over EVGA? Any comments are welcome.

Hi everyone! I've been having issues with Asus dual rtx 2070 card. I possibly have found a solution, but am looking for confirmation. The pc also has a liquid cooled (with corsair h60) i7-9700k, 16gb 2133 ram, rog strix z370-i mb, M.2 ssd, 600w psu. Nothing overclocked, xmp turned on. So when I play metro exodus the stuttering and jittering is non stop with anything below extreme but frame rates are really good. I have found that if I set my settings to extreme with shader rate at 4.0 it stops but frame rate is awful (as expected). Then when the whole pc warms up and graphics cards warms up I can turn down the settings to recommended and the game runs smooth as silk. So this is more of a suggestion for anyone having these same issues and wondering if this works for anyone else or if there is some explanation as to why this works.

Hi LTT forum, I am planning to upgrade my PC since my gpu - Asus R9 280X DC II Top died almost 2 years ago thinking of going for nvidia this time rtx 2070 super seems to be good for playing at 1080p for now, & will suit if i plan to go 1440p but since i5 4440 is too weak for that, i am going to build the entire tower- except internal storage following are the parts i have shortlisted- 1. gigabyte windforce rtx 2070 super (500$) 2. Ryzen 7 3700x (330$) 3. G.Skills ripjaws v series 3200 8GBx2 (75$) / haven't decided mobo yet. My steam library just for reference to what games i play - https://steamcommunity.com/id/beingGamer/games/?tab=all&sort=playtime Questions. 1. are these parts good enough for smooth 1080p & 1440p 2. gigabyte windforce rtx 2070 super for 500$, is this a good deal? 3. Shall I go for 2060 super instead of 2070 super? Can it handle 1440p/higher refresh rates? 4. Please suggest a mobo(not too expensive/cheap)

So i want to upgrade from My 1060 mini to a 2070s. Which One should i get? Is THE one from Nvidia themselfs any Good? Cause thats THE one that looks most tempting. I do a lot of cading with bigger asemblies Will this be enough or should i get something beefier? Also amd is not an option. im not dealing with the blackscreening and shitty software ever again. I rather spend a bit more and get something that works out of THE box. Got an i9900k. 3000mhz ram 32gb

Hi, Until now I was gonna buy the Zephyrus GX502 RTX 2070 which is $2399 as of now. But today, Dave2D uploaded a video about the Eluktronics MAG-15 which seems to be a way better option than the zephyrus because of the bigger battery, windows hello, SD Card, Thunderbolt 3 and so on. My one and only issue was the Max Q 2070 in the MAG-15 compared to the 2070 in the GX502. Is it worth it to spend the $400 extra to get that bump considering I could get quadruple the RAM and double storage for that price in the MAG-15? My workflow involves blender, photoshop, unity, gaming (mostly overwatch but sometimes games like the Witcher 3 or so) and streaming. Can someone tell me how much performance I will lose in the Max Q? And if its liquid metal pasted (by Eluktronics) can I overclock it to reach somewhat close to the Max P 2070? About the 240Hz in Asus over the 144Hz in MAG-15, no game can really reach the 240 unless I lower down the GFX so I don't mind that. Thanks

Going for Aero 15 2019, any suggestions?
Fr0st_P1xel posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Hi, After waiting on the reviews for the Mag 15 by eluktronics, well they were not so great thermally as the GPU is temp limited at 74C I think (own or disown’s review). So I decided to go for the Gigabyte Aero 15 2019 240Hz 2070MQ. I will be getting it repasted from HIDEVOLUTION as I trust them (this will be the 4th purchase). For the same price are there any alternatives which might be better? Pretty sure there is no 144Hz variant in this one sadly. I need a thin and light with decent battery life and a 2070 at minimum since my workflow requires the power and VRAM. Thanks -
I was thinking of getting a 2070 super, specifically this one: https://www.newegg.ca/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-2070-super-gv-n207sgaming-oc-8gc/p/N82E16814932171?Description=2070 super&cm_re=2070_super-_-14-932-171-_-Product it says i need 650 watts, does that stack? like would i need more than 650watts to power my entire system? how do the wattages work?I need to buy a new power supply anyway so I just need to know what to get, I looked at LTT forums power supply tier list, and i got the model i want i just need to know the wattage to choose

As the title suggest I have Two Monitors one QHD and one 4K monitor on top of that I also use a Wacom 4k cintiq, making the total count to three. Will a RTX 2070 super be enough to power all three?

I have a situation. I have the choice between a Blower and Triple fan 2070 Super. They come at a price difference (420€ vs 450€ respectively) but since this is kind of an auction on a forum prices may rise) so my question is how much more is the triple fan worth over the blower. I have a well ventilated case (6 case fans) so I have no special need for the blower card. I'm just trying to get the most amount of performance possible. I/O is fine on both. I'd kinda like a quieter card but performance is king. RGB doesn't matter to me. If there is a good website for this I would like to know about it. Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone so ive owned my pc for about 2-3 years and im about ready for a upgrade mainly looking at graphic cards to start. I mainly play some competitive games such as Rocket League, Csgo, and League of legends in which i am well above 144hz and am not concerned about however I still very much enjoy some single player more demanding games (currently in the middle of Metro Exodus, The Witcher 3, Final Fantasy XV for examples) and have been a bit unhappy with having to lower my graphic settings to compensate for a reasonable frame rate while also keeping in mind i may want to upgrade from 1080p to 1440p eventually. My eye has been attracted to performance benchmarks of the 2070 giving me more what i see as an ideal while at a good price to performance cost compared to higher tier cards. Currently i am running a i5 6600k oc to 4.5 ghz and im worried that buying this card might leave regrets due to bottleneck possibilities. Does anyone have any insight into approximately how much i may be affected by this although i know it would vary from game to game. Would it be worth the upgrade is what im after, Sorry for long rant just wanted to make sure i give about as much information as possible for anyone who will be helping me out. i am currently running a asus z170e i5 6600k oc to 4.6ghz gigabyte gtx 1060 oc with 130 mhz core clock and 650 mhz memory clock, 16gb ddr4 2133mhz ram, as well as a overkill level of cooling ( cpu water cooler along with 5 good quality case fans [my temps sit at mid 20s c with no load and never go above 55c even with more demanding games] ).
