Hey guys I'll be buying my new comp paired with a U2415 and I was told that 1070s are overkill for 1080p. May I know if I'm streaming/recording (obs) on 1920x1080 on 60 fps, may I know if u would still be able to play on 60 fps? On ultra settings? I don't mind changing to high or even medium. Note: I'm not willing to downgrade my obs settings to anything lower then 60 or anything lower then 1600x900 In my case which graphics card should I get? Both graphics card will be the EVGA.

Hello guys, I would like to buy a gtx 1070 which one of them has the lowest chance of getting coil whine? I heard pretty bad stuff about MSI and Gigabyte models.

What should I go for, Single 1080 or dual 1070 What would be optimal for 3D rendering. Is it worth it to pay 30% more for a 1080 for just 20% more performance?? I have $800 to spend.

ok so i am going to have 3 1920 x 1080 monitors in a few weeks and i have a i7 7600k at 5.2 ghz with a gtx 1060 3 gb so do i get 2 gtx 1070's or 1 1080 there are vids showing the 1080 play at 30 to 40 fps will 2 1070 do better or the same or worse

So im wondering if i should upgrade my GPU. My current pc specs are : i7 - 4790k @ 4.5 GHz (1.225 Core V.) @ Corsair Hydro Series H100i with 2 NB-eLoop Noiseblocker Palit Jetstream Geforce GTX 980 , Overclocked : 20% - getting up to 70°c on load and noisy (i can hear it through my case which even got noise insulation mats inside) Samsumg 850 Pro 128gb 16GB Corsair Vengeance @ 2133 MHz MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Thermaltake Paris 650w Asus VG248QE 144hz 1920x1080 Case Fans : 3x nb e-loop & 1x be quiet silent wings 2 for the hopefully good airflow I want to play all current and upcoming (assuming they are optimized well not like the latest deus ex) on Ultra settings on 1080p @ 60 fps . No intention in upgrading the next years on 1440p or higher res. 1080p is fine for me (for now). No intention into VR either. I've read alot reviews and comparisions between the 1070's. From my point of view its either the 1070 gamerock premium or the msi gaming z. But im open for other recommendations. Keep in mind that i don't mind extra cost (but no cards like the sea hawk with closed loops liquid cooling). Price range is like 450-540€ in germany's stores. My pc can still run watch dogs 2 on 60 (after the latest patch) / 72 fps with vsync (before the update since i don't need extra fps above 60), For Honor same on ultra with 72 fps. I feel like the 980 just lacks the additional vram plus some better cooling. I like the card since it lasts me for like 2 years already and i can still play games on decent settings, but i aim for ultra settings (maxed everything, but not necessarily max AA) thanks in advance Edit : And yes even if there is no noticeabl difference on high/very high to ultra. I'd still love to take ultra for the swag.

Hi guys, I live in the UK and struggling to locate either of these cards: 1:http://www.galax.com/en/graphics-card/sniper-edition/galax-geforcer-gtx-1070-exoc-sniper-white.html 2:http://www.galax.com/en/graphics-card/sniper-edition/galax-geforcer-gtx-1080-exoc-sniper-white.html If someone could help me out that would be great. Many thanks Calvin

Hey guys (Another one? I'll have to rethink my intro) So lately I tried to overclock my 1070 FTW card from its stock base clock of 1607MHz up to 2000MHz. At first, it went smoothly. But when I try to push it to 2100MHz, things started to get pretty dang hectic. When I try to launch FireStrike, the screen went black and after 2 minutes, as I was going to shut the PC down and pull the card out, it came back on and poof, the computer doesn't recognize the card's driver anymore. I then turned the card back down to 1900MHz, things started to get back to normal Anyone experienced this? If yes, should I put a waterblock on it or send it back to EVGA?

Which blower-style cooler design is the best? I cant go open-air since I have mini-ITX case. I wouldnt mind losing a couple fps for better acoustics.

windows aero doesn't work when hdmi plugged to the new GPU
roeeitz posted a topic in Troubleshooting
I installed 1070 graphic card on my computer and the windows aero effect just doesn't work. i did google it and tried a lot of solutions but non of them succeeded. I tried installing the latest driver from geforce's website, installed Xtreme Graphic Engine in order to get the most up to date bios (which is F11 as for today) and firmware (21.21.13,7866 today's most up dated). I tried running the windows Aero Troubleshoot and it didn't help in any way. also reinstalling the windows didn't help (not fresh reinstall like format and install but a repair). i navigated to Services in windows and tried "stop", "play" and "Restart" under "Desktop Window Manager" option. when I plug my HDMI cable directly to the motherboard it works like magic both Windows Aero and the transparency across the board. *I did multiple restarts after each change or update. *i have Windows 7 Ultimate installed. *Graphic card driver's version is 378.66 Does anyone have any suggestions? -
Hello, I am upgrading my current GPU to GTX 1070, from 660 ti, and have a amateur question. Will there be ANY benefits of running GTX 1070 and the 660 ti together? Or is there no point at all? Thanks!

I've been using a Toshiba laptop with a Pentium 2020m CPU clocked at 2.4GHz with no discrete GPU so i've been rocking hard with those integrated framerates. Now while i must admit this little Pentium has done more than its fair share of work when it comes to light gaming and even (very sluggish) photo editing, it's time to move on to bigger and better things. I set myself a 1000 to 1100 EURO budget and am looking to build myself my first (done by me) desktop. It will be used mostly for gaming (1080p/1440p, i already own a 1080p monitor and all the peripherals), school work and photo editing, altough nothing too serious. This is the PCPP list: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/g9LmWX I went with the german PCPP link but i am open to buying components from all over europe (read: amazon and other reputable websites) and am always looking for a good deal while trying to keep the same parts list or equivalent parts for less money. I am from Portugal if it makes any difference. My questions to the nice folk over here are: 1- Is this a 'balanced' build? I know this is pretty much a buzzword but basically does the CPU bottleneck the GPU or am i good with the build as is? 2- Should i go with the K unlocked skylake CPU or opt for a locked newer gen kaby lake (7500/7600)? 3- I couldn't really decide between the ASUS Z170-P and the MSI Z170-A PRO motherboards, which one do you guys think is better? 4- Should i get a single 8GB stick of ram and at a later time buy another one or buy the 2x4GB kit on the PCPP list and later on buy another 2x4GB kit to fill the four RAM slots? 5- Is the PSU i chose good enough for this build in terms of watts and just plain quality? I saw it is on the third tier of the PSU tier list on here but i'm not sure how that stacks up against the rest of the build, even with it being 80+ gold certified. 6- And finally, is the case adequate? I like the way it looks and it seems to have adequate air flow but since this is my first build i still have no real idea and am not looking to slowcook my components. Those are all the things that, off the top of my head, i can think to ask. I'd greatly appreciate any help or feedback! Also, before anyone asks, i will eventually slap an SSD on that thing to use as a boot drive.

I have a system without a graphics card and I am looking to buy the gtx 980ti or the gtx 1070. However, I am not sure if my FSP AU-650M AURUM 650W Power Supply can handle the load from these cards and I'm worried that if it can't handle the graphics cards it may damage them. My system has an over clocked i5 4690k at 4.2ghz, 16gbs 1600mhz ram, a deepcool captain 240 CPU cooler and the FSP AU-650M AURUM 650W Power SupplyWill this power supply be enough for all this and a 980ti or 1070, and will it be able to supply them for a while until I can afford a better power supply?

The cards are both watercooled and I'm impartial on red vs green so which card is better? 1070 is $100 CAD more but double RAM and newer gen. Also heard 1070's are tech current 1440p champ but I am curious. https://www.amazon.ca/MSI-GTX-VRready-1070-Corsair/dp/B01GUAJMNE/ref=sr_1_76?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1486598416&sr=1-76&keywords=gtx%2B1070&th=1 vs. https://www.amazon.ca/XFX-R9-FURY-4QFA-RADEON-FURY-DDR5/dp/B0106IJXX0/ref=sr_1_50?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1486598006&sr=1-50&keywords=gtx+1070

Pretty simple, I have a slightly flexible budget of $550 for GPU + $400 for eGPU box. I can get a solid secondhand 1070 or 980(or ti) for $500 - 600 or a 1060/480 for 300 - 350 All prices are in CAD The upgrade is for a MSI Ghost Pro 4K i7 6700HQ 970m 3gb 3840x2160 @ 48 Hertz (laptops screen) 1920x1080 @ 60 Hertz (external monitor)

Hi LTT community! I'm hoping you'll be able to help me decide on a GPU to get! I'm torn deciding, and think you guys should be the ones to advise from your personal experience! It's my first fully-fledged build, so could do with some guidance. The rig this is going into contains the following already: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 MoBo Intel i7-4790K processor 16 GB DDR3 1600 MHz Corsair HX620W NVMe SSD and SATA 3 HDD General uses of the machine will be: Gaming on High-FPS games (regularly) Very occasional Video Editing My day to day machine So far, I know that the pro of the 980 ti is that it (seems to) outperform the 1070 when it comes to Gaming Graphics, but the 1070 has the fact that it's newer and the extra 2GB of VRAM. I can't see much more between them really. In regards to cost, they're almost identical (at £370 for the 980 ti and £390 for the 1070), so there isn't really much difference there. Unless anyone can recommend anything else card-wise they think would be good around the same kind of price range! Thanks!

Hi, I'm looking for more information about the Asus GTX1070 Dual OC edition. I've looked at the Asus website and for reviews online but wanted to know how many power phases and what type of heat sink is used. There aren't any pictures of the PCB or the heatsink that I could find. Any help would be great.

A few days ago i posted the plans for a build here on the LTT forums (you can check that out here) and the replies i got changed my mind as to how i should go about doing this build. I initially wanted an unlocked i5 but upon reading comments in that thread i made up my mind i'd go for an i7 so i could be 'future proof' when it comes to gaming, since titles are now being more and more optimised for high core/thread count CPUs. Here is the new version: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/QK9ssJ The desktop's use will still be the same: gaming and light photo editing, besides of course in browser use and school work. The budget is between 1000 and 1100 euros, pretty hard on that top number though since the 1100 was already a stretch budget. For those of you looking at the prices on PCPP and wondering why i manually inserted all of them, basically look here. That's a portuguese shop where i found pretty competitive prices relative to european amazon websites so i'm planing on buying a good amount of components there, the GPU and HDD being the exceptions so far (i included a 1070 in that picture but i don't think i'll be stretching my wallet that far to buy one, they're way cheaper on the german amazon page costing as little as 420 euros at times for the versions i've been looking at and i think the max i'd be willing to go for would be 450). I also included a cheaper but lower wattage PSU in the screenshot because i'm not sure how viable it would be to use that one instead of the one in the PCPP list. I also did sanity checks like seeing if the MB has enough headers to run the 3 included fans (it does with a spliter for the front ones), seeing if there's a BIOS to run 7th gen CPUS on that board (there is) and either PSU should have enough connectors to power up every component chosen. So what do you guys think of this build? Any feedback would be highly appreciated! PS: i will be buying an extra stick of RAM and an SSD later on so there's no need to point the need of those out or include them in any retouched PCPP lists.

I know that you can get reasonably price micro-sized 1070, 1060 and R9 nano but are there any other powerful GPU's under 7"? I'll be pairing it with a watercooled 6700k

Hi all, I'm working on compiling a parts list for my new PC, and I'm not sure which version of the 1070 I should get. I'm thinking either the Founders Edition, or the MSI one, with their TWIN FROZR VI cooler. Here is my parts list (any changes/suggestions are welcome and appriciated!): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vRbZr7 Thanks!

T_T I need help. I don't understand why my gpu fans are "locked" in 2000 rpms. I mess with GPU tweak II and can't seem to drop the fan speed. Any suggestions? Here is a link to my build if it helps give you an idea of whats wrong. My build

I am now torn again. *Curse my indecisiveness lol* Hey guys, I was originally going to get a GTX 1080 since they went down in price. However, from watching more reviews of the 1070 going against the 1080 the 1080 is really only give or take 10% faster than the 1070. This is especially true when comparing a base 1080 to an overclocked 1070. I currently have a GTX 970 which, don't get me wrong, it still performs well... it's just I have a 1080p 144Hz monitor that I paid over 200 dollars for and most of my games on ultra/max detail don't even come close to reaching 100 FPS on average. So I don't really feel like I'm getting my money's worth out of my monitor. Speaking of money, money isn't overall an issue since I just got my tax returns, so yes, I could get a 1080. However I wanted to make more of a smart decision rather than just going "Durr, I have the money so let's just spend a crap ton of it and get a 1080" since the 1070 seems to be for the most part 100 dollars cheaper than most of the 1080's. I understand that some 1080's are sitting at 500 dollars, but those are either Gigabyte's cards (to which their 1080s haven't been that great it seems, plus I just overall don't care for their cards) or blower style cards. So what do you guys think? Spend the roughly 100 dollars more on the 1080, or just go for a really good 1070?

I'll be playing games and about maybe 30 minutes in the game just crashes, it's never done this before. When it does happen it usually says something about a graphics driver crash, I have tried reinstalling the drivers 5+ times and still no change. Zotac AMP! Extreme 1070, no OC other then factory OC
