  1. I usually use a GParted bootable USB. Works fine for most disk management and Windows won't get in your way. Download the ISO from their website and use Rufus to turn it into a bootable USB stick (you need a spare USB stick of course).
  2. I didn't know the 13900 had 34 cores. (obviously a typo).
  3. Why do they have Anker stuff? I though they would no longer buy their stuff because of the whole camera privacy disaster.
  4. You can try to reseat the CPU but it's likely an issue with the ethernet controller itself. I would also go the route of a pcie ethernet card and don't bother with an RMA because it's probably around the same price as shipping the motherboard and you can keep using the PC.
  5. RMA the motherboard, the intel NIC has multiple revisions because the first ones were absolute garbage.
  6. I was stupid enough to do that once! Thing got infected in 2 days by a RAT, how i figured that out? Because my computer suddenly decided to open the firefox password vault, which was luckily empty. Literally pulled the plug and nuked it, I'm thankful they didn't go for my lastpass vault. Never again will I run without an antivirus. It's not worth the performance bump.
  7. If it's double the performance for double the price, is it really a steamdeck competitor? Yes it's aimed at the same market, but for people with a different budget and also, would comparing a new 1000 dollar computer to a year old 500 dollar computer be a fair comparison? (that's based on the assumption the ROG thing is 800 dollars) Also you can be sure that whatever APU is in that thing that AYA, GPD and ONEXPLAYER are also looking into putting it into their own devices. It's cool that a big brand is FINALLY trying it too but, it's ROG, it's gonna be expensive.
  8. Bruh my account is almost 10 years old D: It's older than the post in OP's image! Geez... I still remember a time when the forum didn't exist, WAN show didn't exist, NCIX Esther was still active and Crazy Russian hadn't done a face reveal. It's difficult to grasp the wild ride LTT has been so far and the train is still going at full speed!
  9. Apart from the obvious suggestion to make a similar video about AMD, how about a video that talks about all the confusion both brands (nvidia and AMD) did with their naming? A few got mentioned like the 970 "4GB" and the 1060 3GB vs 6GB, but we all know they did this a LOT more often. The RX 480 for example is actually quite a mess. The 4GB ones had slower memory speeds compared to 8GB ones and the 2048SP editions also exist (which means it's basically a RX 470 even tho they are called RX 480). I found this surprisingly relevant recently (few days ago actually) when shopping for an rx 480 on aliexpress, a bunch of them are actually 2048SP cards but it's not always mentioned very clearly.
  10. Very funny e-mail at 13:07, I highly recommend pausing and reading it completely. It's worth it.
  11. Who's idea was it to take DENNIS to a fab?! I'm not surprised Linus was allowed to go in, but I am surprised they let Dennis in. Still an amazing video tho.
  12. You can warn them as much as you want, if they don't wanna hear it then they won't. You tried to educate and warn them but if they don't want to listen, don't put more time and energy in it. If they end up losing important data, that's their loss. Just make sure your setup is actually decent. If it's work related. Get it all in writing (CYA) and get in (digital) writing they accept the potential risks of not executing/following your advice. Just make sure you have it written down somewhere! Once they accept taking responsibility, it's no longer your problem/worry.
  13. That very last question about a conflict with savegames is something that we already know. It will just ask which save is the right one. Had that happen a few times in the past. Steam will just give you the 2 dates of the savegames and ask you if you want to keep the local one or the cloud one. If u notice the time from the cloud one isn't what you expected because the steam deck didn't sync, you just cancel the sync, turn on your steam deck, let it idle for a few moments (it will sync in the background and afaik it won't always tell you it's syncing, if it does it shows as a download) and then u can launch the game again on your other device. You'll see the cloud sync date is correct now so u sync that and off u go! Or if u notice your progress isn't there you need to let your steam deck sync too. Also few suggestions: How do you update the OS? How do you install steam OS after an SSD swap? What about backups? What about the BIOS? Anything interesting there?
  14. There's always the ghetto option and remove the PCIE cover slots below the GPU. That way the air can leave easier so the air pocket is reduced. I've done it a few times before and it usually worked, but not much. It's more of a bandaid thing rather than a proper solution.
  15. Am I the only one just failing to understand this whole metaverse thing? Like, u can't just create an account and join it as you would expect because it, doesn't exist yet or something? Sounds to me like minecraft for the rich influencer social media type of person.
  16. And if you just wanna remote into your server locally, it's free! https://www.splashtop.com/personal I mean, if you just want to get started that's ideal. Make sure you get the hang of it in your own home and once the basics work fine and you want to do remote stuff from anywhere, then you can easily upgrade. Also there's teamviewer which, yea... It's free but it can be very nagging. Also really bad customer support so if you are actually planning to pay for it, probably not what u want.
  17. Umm, how as a complete noob and home user am I suppose to use pulseway? I don't have a business or anything and it's just a 14-day trial, maybe any alternatives that someone can suggest?
  18. I'm surprised they didn't use the 2060 KO as an example instead of the 7900. Never heard of it before! But I know the 2060 KO story. Wasn't really a new SKU but it was a limited run and different than any other 2060. Like it used a different GPU core, that's how different they were.
  19. Well I still don't completely know what it does, but it looks fine? But then again why make it unreadable, makes no sense. It was in the startup tab in task manager. No idea how it got there but that's where it is. And yes messing with appdata, probably not the best idea. But then again if I do a big oof and ruin my install, no big deal. I've done stupid things before. Honestly more than I like to admit so I have a decent backup/restore system in case i mess up again. The name of the file is mbiJtauj without any extension. It does spit out some somewhat more readable code I guess.
  20. No subfolder, it's just there in Roaming. No idea why it's there, but it was. So far my pc is fine so whatever that script did wasn't essential for the functionality of it Honestly if my windows install derps to death I really don't care. I have a solid backup/restore system and I don't mind losing a few days of gaming progress (worst case). But thanks for the warning, I'll keep it in mind.
  21. It goes to appdata/roaming. The trigger is found in the startup thing in task manager I disabled this and now the error message is gone. The error message when it runs is your generic "could not find script at location appdata/roaming". And that's just WScript.exe spitting out the error. edit: yes i cleaned up my appdata folders, probably weird/unusual but I did...
  22. So, after a big cleanup and a reboot, my pc complained it couldn't find a script. After diving in the bin I found the script but I have NO idea what it does. Just looks like a bunch of nonsense to me. Can anybody tell me what the script does? It has been on my pc for a while and I don't know how it got there. Both Defender and Virustotal don't see any issues with it but I want to be sure it's all fine.
  23. For the people confused by the HD thing, if you wanna bleed your system you usually powercycle it a few times. It was also known that sudden shutdowns while booting windows could mess it up beyond repair. This is XP days we are talking about and broken installs because of improper shutdowns especially during boot were a lot more common than you would think. So to avoid this, you would disconnect your HD so you can power cycle as much as you want without risking bricking your OS.
  24. I had something similar not too long ago. In my case the JPEG actually ran a CMD through a VBS and downloaded a RAT, my guess is that your Defender saw either the VBS or the CMD command and threw the thing in the trash. So, very likely they have nothing because the actual dangerous thing, the RAT, was never on your system. They might have your IP, but that in itself is not that useful for the hacker. Usually the people doing those things are hoping the RAT works, take control of your system and try to steal passwords or empty your paypal account. At least that is what the asshole that hacked my computer with a RAT tried.
