  1. The Moto maker version has an unlocked option yes.
  2. Update: So I just looked at the actual specs of the Moto X Pure, specifically the Network and Bands section. Networks LTE cat. 6 capable WCDMA CDMA EV-DO GSM/EDGE Bands GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) UMTS/HSPA+ (850, 900, 1700 (AWS),1900, 2100 MHz) CDMA (800, 850, 1900 MHz) 4G LTE† (B1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 25, 26, 38, 41) Optus, my current provider, uses GSM bands 900 and 1800. So, in my limited knowledge of these things, it seems to me that this would work. But I could be wrong. I do have hope now though
  3. Hey all, I really want the new Moto X Style (or Pure as it's known in the US) and attempted today to buy one from Vodafone who has an exclusive contract to sell them here in Australia. However, I wanted to buy one outright as many publications have said would be available, only to be told that I cannot buy one outright from them as of the 29th of September (yesterday) and can only get one on a plan. So I had a thought, if I used Moto Maker to create my own Moto X and had it shipped here somehow, I could save money, and have a moto maker phone . I just need to find out if anyone knows if a US phone model would work in Australia. I would probably have to change some settings to get it to recognise my SIM, but other than that, is there anything I would need to be aware of in getting this to work? EDIT: I should also point out that shipping won't be an issue as Australia Post offers a service where they can get stuff shipped to Australia from the US that wouldn't normally be available to do so.
  4. So....does this mean that Konami, not Kojima Productions have the rights to Metal Gear? If so, I don't know if I'll ever want to play a Metal Gear game that was not made by Kojima himself.
  5. Yes, I actually found the same issue in my Windows update and contacted Windows support and they said that the update failed becuase it hasn't rolled out to me yet and I just need to wait. It's frustrating, but I guess this is how they've chosen to do it. I think I would rather them do it this way than them try to roll it all out at once and the have the thing be horribly broken.
  6. I love this insider option for people who want to grab a free copy of Windows 10. I think Microsoft have realised that people who don't want to pay for windows will always just pirate it. Smart move to just offer these people a free copy, and in return, microsoft gets more BETA testers. I'm most likely going to throw this insider version of windows 10 on my media PC, since I really don't care if the thing crashes, I've only got a small handful of steam games and browsers installed anyway. Does anyone know if there is a time limit for opting in to the insider program? or will it just carry through past release? Seems like Microsoft can almost do no wrong since Nadella was put in charge, great move by them.
  7. OK so, update, I unplugged my speakers from my Xonar sound card, and put them in my onboard sound, and it stopped, so I'm guessing this means the issue is with my Sound card, anyone have any experience with this? and any suggestions on what it causing it/how to fix it, or is my sound card essentially dead?
  8. While watching netflix last night, my browser crashed when I turned on my VPN and that annoying repeated sound happened where it rapid fires the last sound on the video. Problem is, it is still happening, even though it is now around 24 hours later and my computer has been turned off at least twice since then, but alas, every time I turn my computer on, there it is again. I have tried disabling all the processes that I think could be the culprit, including my VPN, all my browsers, even my Asus audio centre, all to no avail, any help would be hugely appreciated. Edit: Also, it's definitely not my speakers since I tried unplugging my speakers and putting my headphones in the same port, the sound is still there.
  9. Not to say I don't like Ducky, I think they make brilliant keyboards and am so glad that they are making MX RGB products, but the whole simple thing is the reason I wouldn't get one. I love the design of the K70, it looks amazing and the media keys are really good, best volume wheel ever. Also, I've never actually held a ducky, but I feel like you can't get better build quality than the full Aluminum construction of the corsair. But that's all personal opinion really, for any of my friends who look for a clean and simple mechanical, I always point them towards ducky.
  10. Holy crap you are getting screwed, even for Aussie standards, who are you with? I get around 12Mb/s and unlimited downloads with home phone for $60/month on TPG.
  11. Thanks man, that actually fixed it, and kinda confirms my suspicions that GFWL was getting in the way of the game launching before the migration.
  12. I have tried that in the past, but I haven't tried that this time since I had just reinstalled it.
  13. SO, the dreaded GFWL is finally gone from Dark Souls 1, everyone rejoice...except me, I can't play the game anymore. Even before the GFWL removal, my main PC has always had troubles launching the game, it would crash as soon as it got to the loading screen. However, since the migration to steamworks, it doesn't even launch the game at all, basically nothing happens when I launch the game. I heard that maybe this had something to do with DSFix, so I uninstalled the game and completely wiped the game folder from my steamapps directory. That did not help at all, still the game will not launch. My PC specs are below, and I am running windows 8.1, any help would be greatly appreciated as I have not been able to play this game for some time.
  14. A quick google search found this: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=28121 It's an Australian computer shop, but that seems like the kind of thing you're looking for, and I'm sure someone that isn't pccase gear sells it. Have hope my friend, the kind of thing you are looking for does indeed exist. P.S. You are indeed a filthy casual. P.P.S. In seriousness, I do think mechanical keyboards can be bloody expensive for what you get, but I wouldn't trade my Corsair K70 with brown switches for anything. If scissor switch is what you like, than don't let anyone tell you you're wrong. It's all down to preference. That's one thing that I actually think cherry switch keyboards are good for, there are pretty much switches for everybody, and no one can be wrong in their preference. But this does extend to ther keyboards and switch types (except membrane lol) if you like the short travel distance and feel of scissor switch, then go for it.
  15. I really like the the three fan design. Really good looking card, the triple slot cooler interests me, not sure if I agree I only run one card anyway so it shouldn't affect me too badly.
  16. Congrats Linus and team, this is a huge milestone I am forever thankful to Logan for actually pointing me towards your channel and have been a viewer ever since. I still remember the Live Stream days back in the old Garage and it's amazing to see how far you've come. Keep up the good work.
  17. Huh, that changes things, I guess the question still stands, cause the AC68U, which is a modem/router, not just a router, is like $100 cheaper on amazon than anywhere I've found in Aus so far.
  18. Hey guys I've been shopping around for the best price on the ASUS AC66U modem, and it seems the best place I can get it from is Amazon US. Problem is, I'm in Australia. I was wondering if a modem bought from the US would work here in Australia. I'm aware that I would need to get a new power cable, but I'm more concerned about potentially different internet standards, things like that. Cheers
  19. Don't yet know if I would replace my HTC one with this, but I would love to give it a go, that optional wireless charging is a great selling point as my One can't do that
  20. Around the same, I have yet to see the TP-Link one, I will keep an eye out for it
  21. Hey, I'm in the market for a wireless AC router so I can game stream on my future Steam Machine (waiting for steam OS to be out of Beta). The D-Link DSL-2880AL seems to be the best deal I can get on an AC router. Just looking for any helpful thoughts on this product, or, even failing that, any suggestions for a different AC router. I have also had my eye on the Asus RT-AC66U as I am currently using an Asus DSL-N55U and have been fairly happy with it. Having said that I am open to other suggestions.
  22. The only way I'd be happy about this is if it was like an extended narrative style movie, not one that's trying to copy off the game scene for scene. The game was cinematic enough, its story was amazing and sucked you in but would not work as a movie, there's way too much in it. Unless they made 4 movies, one for each of the chapters in the game. But then again I wouldn't see the point as the main reason people love this game is for its story and characters, not for its gameplay (which was still good) so there's no need for a movie. However, if it was a completely new story (with or without Ellie and Joel) written by the guys from Naughty Dog who wrote the game, I think it could work. Though I still wouldn't be entirely thrilled regardless.
  23. That's what I figured, which is why I originally turned off the ad tracking option on the extension, but it kept blocking ads after that so I ruled it out as a possibility, but only disabling it completely actually stopped the adblocking.
  24. Ok so, I did a little more digging/trial and error and found the problem. Turns out disabling my Avast addon for Firefox fixed it and the ads are now enabled. So for anyone now reading this post, just a heads up, Avast's Firefox (and probably chrome, if they have one) extension also blocks ads for whatever reason. Whether or not you believe adblocking is ok, I don't mind, but for people like me who were trying to allow the ads so that the people I watch on YouTube and twitch can get paid, also look in to disabling the Avast extension (or not installing it in the first place, I don't actually remember doing myself, I just figured it was part of an update to my antivirus).
  25. Hey guys, A little while back I noticed that oddly, while watching YouTube videos and Twitch streams, I was not experiencing any ads. I did once run adblock, but I have since disabled and uninstalled it on all my browsers since I learned that the YouTubers and streamers don't get paid if I adblock them. However, my Firefox seems to have continued to block ads even without any adblock software enabled. Would anyone have any ideas as to why this would be happening? I know the problem is something to do with Firefox as my Chrome still displays ads.
