Congratulations UberEats!

After receiving my food just under 2 hours after I ordered it, I received the wrong order (beef burger + fries instead of chicken burger + fries). -_-

It really takes something special to fail this spectacularly.

Thankfully UberEats Customer support agreed and offered me a full refund.

For what it's worth, the fries were burnt/overcooked and the beef was the most overcooked piece of beef I've ever had.

Ever hear of don't kill the messenger lol? Sounds like the restaurant gave the wrong food to the UberEats person and they simply delivered it.

I agree with @imreloadin, sounds more like a restaurant issue than an UberEats issue. I've never had any problems with them or SkiptheDishes, always had super fast service with the proper order.

A large part of the issue is most likely in the fact that most restaurants that do UberEats have never done any kind of delivery services themselves before either so they will prioritize any orders for people who are actively in the restaurant over any for people who are using UberEats or another third party delivery service.

i drive for uber eats occasionally.

if the order is wrong, its entirely the restaurants fault.

-we get the order on our phone when it comes in

-we go to the restaurant and wait until its complete

-we take what they give us and deliver it to you.

we cant even see the entire order.

especially for drinks.   on our end we see "soda" or "bottled drink"  i have no idea whether you got a water, or a dr pepper.

8 times out of 10 we only get a vague idea of what you actually ordered, and if you ordered it special(no onion, no mustard) we cant see that at all.

As far as the 2 hour wait its one of 2 things

-the restaurant took for fucking ever+traffic (ive literally waited 20+ minutes for mcdonalds to make a 10 piece nugget)

    or

-nobody was online/available when you placed your order and you had to wait for a driver to be offered the trip

@imreloadin The almost 2 hours of waiting was UberEats' fault.

Also, here most restaurants treat all kinds of orders the same because usually the riders arrive at the restaurant as the order is being made.

@AluminiumTech how do you know it was the fault of UberEats though?

Note, I've never used the service so I don't know of they give you some kind of notification when the meal is done being prepared or not.

@imreloadin It does, I was initially under the impression it would be ready by a certain time (edit: I should explain Uber gives time estimates for deliveries) (I thought it would arrive roughly 30 minutes after ordering). The time kept creeping forward by 10 minutes until at some point it said the order was delayed but didn't specify a reason why.

And the order stayed "delayed" until mysteriously out of nowhere an UberEats driver picked up the order (I was under the impression the food hadn't yet been cooked).

The driver proceeded to deliver the food and the time from when he picked it up to arriving with me wasn't bad.

@AluminiumTech this sounds like there wasnt a driver available in the area at the time you ordered.

this isnt exactly the fault of anybody.   I agree UberEats should be more transparent about the reason for the delay.  But they cant help if there isnt anybody available to deliver.

EDIT: and it should be noted that the driver cant see when the order was originally placed, only the time they receive it, and doesnt know you've been waiting 2 hours
