  1. Ports on the side, like on the Enthoo Evolv are a good idea. Sure they aren't convenient as forward/top ports, but its better than having no front ports at all. It also does not break the clean looks of the front.

A stencil and some spray paint would be the easiest option. If you want something more subtle & permanent, a friend of mine used to etch plastic using stick on stencils and also fine steel wool. Stick on the stencil and score with the steel wool. The trick is to make sure that all the wipes are done in the same direction. You end up with a cool faux mate brushed aluminium look.

Are you looking at something like this?
  4. Vessel works like a dream for me. I also prefer the Vessel UI over that of Youtube. Overall I think Vessel is a good idea. CCs get more money, and people who want to pay get videos a week in advance. After my free trial runs out, I'll gladly pay the subscription fee for Vessel, since a large amount of my favourite You-tubers are on Vessel.
  5. Personally I never pirate software. It's not just because I care for the creators, but because any cracked software can be easily implanted with malicious code. I used to pirate songs, but stopped after I got my Spotify subscription. It's a reasonable price, and is much more convenient.
  6. They seem to use a standard Anti-Vandal switch for the power button. You can get replacements from PC modding stores.I believe Performance PC carries quite a wide selection.
  7. Even if AV says Malware is cleaned and everything looks fine, you have no idea what modification/changes the malware has done to your system. What I would do: Dump all important documents into pen drive. Wipe all PC drives. Fresh install Windows. Create a BitDefender Rescue Disk Boot into the rescue disk, and scan recovered documents with Virus Scanner. The rescue disk uses a live Linux distro, so any Windows malware will very likely be inactive. Boot normally back into Windows and rehouse your backed up documents from the pen drive. This may should paranoid, but this should give your absolute certainty that no traces of malware remain.
  8. Does this occur all the time or just occasionally? When I used Bitdefender, unless you had an active scan running, memory usage was minimal.
  9. There is absolutely nothing unfortunately. Full disk encryption, unless you are a certain governmental entity with access to secret backdoors and supercomputing power, is impossible to break Next time it's advisable to create a Non-Admin account for your younger brother to use.
  10. I don't think spending resources on a contrasting interior colour will be worthwhile. Everyone is going to stuff this case to the brim with components(which are usually black/grey), and since there will be likely be no windows/internal lighting, you'd barely notice the coloured internals from the outside . I think a tasteful dark grey interior will be perfect for all cases. Since this case has a very small visual footprint - it's a great idea to make the outside brightly coloured, to give it more presence . It's kind of like painting your hot hatch bright orange .
  11. In terms of colours, for the first run you should possibly have a matte black version (generic and unassuming), and also a crazy colour like yellow/blue/red/purple/turquoise (my crazy choice ).
  12. From far as I know, you need to have a functioning Mac to download mavericks from the App Store, format a flash frive with the OS X Extended File Format, and then flash the Mavericks installer into it. If you currently have a Hackintosh, you should be able to do all of this.
  13. I use stock. A themed browser looks out of place within my other windows.
  14. Fingerprints contain oil. Polar solvents like water don't take oils off. What I would suggest is Eye Glass cleaner specifically made for Anti-Reflective Glasses. The Anti reflective coatings on screens and eye glasses are similar, so using these should be safe.
  15. For the University I go to - the only thing they check at entrance is your grades. As long as you have the required grades (and no criminal history of course) they take you in. But that said there is a pretty high 1st year dropout/switch out rate since most students get overwhelmed the University workload, or decide the field their are in does not interest them. I'm specializing in Molecular Genetics BTW. It's a fun & interesting field and I encourage you to giver it a try if you are interested in the Bio side of things. I'm trying to get into a Masters/Research Programme later on - whom I know look for a high GPA & also research experience.
