  1. I talked to a guy named Thomas aswell. After a few emails he sorted me out with custom length cables for my desk build. Such a nice guy. I'm surprised they replaced your psu. They have come a long way since last year that's for sure.
  2. I have a PG27AQ and I find its a solid monitor. Dont bother going 4k unless you got 2x980ti's or better. 4k is hard to run and dealing with mutli gpus is a pain. I'd say go for a 2k monitor with 144hz or stay safe with 1080p 144hz. Personally I would go with a 2k monitor. Better image (than 1080), easier to run, more options when it comes to higher refresh rates. Dont worry about 1ms or 4ms, just worry about refresh rates if you wanna keep it simple.
  3. Try resetting the cmos, im searching for other solutions now. Edit: After resetting the CMOS, boot into the bios and disable fast boot, Also unplug and replug in your power cords on your motherboard. Have a look at this link, it suggests turning off fast startup in win 10. http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2394345/error-code-asus-hero-vii.html
  4. Thats just the website being intrusive with its ads. Sometimes with adblock you can right click on them and it has a function to delete those ads. Its nothing with ur pc just the website.
  5. They are all roughly the same for a budget case. Linus did like the Zalman in his review even though it had some flaws. Watch the review.
  6. Huge thanks to CableMod for being able to create these custom length cables for me. I have been wanting to get rid of those extensions for a while and about a month ago I sent them an email and after a small chat they got to work on the cables. They look amazing and it is a night and day difference to the mess of cables I had going on before. Below I will show you some before and after pictures and its a huge improvement. Cable combs are on the way (they kinda forgot to ship them).
  7. Hello, I have a PG27AQ 4k G-Sync monitor which I have been using for a while now and I have some problems with the G-Sync side of things. With 2x 980ti's in my system I get more than 60fps when gaming at 4k. So that my games dont get capped at 60fps I have to go into Nvidia Control panel, select "Manage 3D settings" and then under "Global Settings" I scroll down to "Vertical Sync". By default this is "on" but to turn off the cap I change this to "Use the 3D application setting". After clicking apply everything works, games aren't capped at 60fps anymore. The issue is that I have to do this every time I turn my computer on as the setting doesn't save and it becomes really annoying. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks
  8. Maxing out around 70 on custom loop. Normal usage is fine and during gaming its fine. It does need another rad but im all swet with the temps and the OC. Just wanted some more info.
  9. Nope. Just got the block itself assuming it was for X99. I found this link: https://www.ekwb.com/news/ek-supremacy-evo-now-shipping-with-brand-new-jet-j3-for-lga-2011-3-cpus/ saying that the J3 will only improve temps by 0.5C to 1C if so its not a huge deal. Not 100% sure what the default setup is though.
  10. Hello, When I did my desk build with a 5960X I bought a EK Supremacy EVO X99 Cpu Waterblock Nickel. I have seen people replacing the inserts and jets and I don't know much about that. My block hasn't been opened up or touched, just how i bought it. Can anyone tell me a bit more information about them and do i need to swap those out in my block? Also is there any benefit in doing this. Thanks. @EK Luc
  11. What level are the players in the gyms. Its not surprising for a level 18+ more than likely 20-23 having 2k+ cp pokemon.
  12. The choppy sound is the CPU running at 100% and struggling to handle everything. I have heard that if you go into the bios there is some type of power saving thing you can turn off. Have a look at this thread and see if it helps you any.
  13. The backplate should be fine. The cooler will have to come off for the waterblock so you wont have all those front fan leds but the back should be able to stay stock.
  14. Bought 2x 980ti's end of last year, paid $1200 aud each. Now they are selling them for like 600-700$, so upset.
  15. http://www.smh.com.au/business/consumer-affairs/pokemon-go-residents-call-police-as-rhodes-swamped-20160712-gq4hb3.html Pokemon is crazy af in sydney, I went into the city and it was packed even till 2am in the morning. Although it was pretty mad I have to admit, everyone was all happy and talking and having a great time, not to mention the mad amounts of lures and pokemon. In 5C weather and probably a solid 5k+ people there at around 11pm it was a really good atmosphere. It will die down in about a month dw. Heres a pic of the map close to Sydney Opera House.
  16. Save up all your evolutions and upgrades. Activate a lucky egg and then do it all in that time because it doubles your xp and is the easiest way to level up. Dont start evolving or leveling up till your around level 9-10 otherwise your just wasting all your stuff.
  17. Increase it a bit, just make sure its stable.
  18. The gpu will be fine, it has its own voltage cap anyway. As long as your temps aren't at 90C 24/7 it should be sweet.
  19. So it comes to a satisfying end. For a budget case the Spec-Aplha came up really nice with a coat of paint, you wouldnt think that this whole build was sub $500. Hope you guys did enjoy the run.
  20. It isn't. But before I water cooled I used a 212 evo and my temps weren't that high overclocked.
  21. Its only 1.23v, shouldn't be getting that hot. My 5960x runs way cooler with 1.35v
  22. The same thermal paste should be fine. Remove the cooler, clean the cpu and cooler and then reapply the paste and see. Make sure to tighten the screws down in a diagonal pattern so that the paste spreads evenly.
  23. Its taken off pretty hard in australia. I was like nah im not gonna do this but I was pressured into it. Its really not that bad but just the sheer number of people having the app and roaming around the public is scary. The city is just packed with people looking at their phones and playing this game at landmarks.
  24. Clearly thats not right. Take off the cooler and reapply thermal paste, you may have put too little. Luke did a video and said too much shouldn't be a problem. Id say redo the thermal paste and remount it and see what you get. 82C is way too high.
  25. I literally kept an empty wall in my room just for something like this. #lg #netflixandchill
