  1. I actually ran into this a little while ago doing the same thing trying to repurpose my old drives. I'm sure there's a much easier way but what I did is disconnect all the drives except the one I wanted to wipe. Then I booted up with a bootable usb with windows 10 installation on it(you don't need to buy a key). During the install it will ask you what drive you want to install on. On that screen you should be able to delete the partitions. I even used this method to fix an unrecognized drive in windows.
  2. I would not use an rgb header for a fan. The header could send voltage into the rpm sense and pwm control wires of the fan and damage things. I would use spliters off of the MB headers, assuming they can handle the amount of power needed, or get a fan controller or direct wire them with an adapter.
  3. I'd have to say a 9.5/10 that bottom right where it looks like you have fan cable extensions looks a little mashed together. That being said it's way better than I would've done.
  4. It's Cooler Master, they've been around for a long time now and are well established so it makes me wonder why their customer support seems so lacking in my eyes. I guess I'm just frustrated because one of the fan speed indicator LEDs on the I/O panel of the C700M I bought is not working and the return to seller window is closing in on me and I just want to know if I can get a replacement I/O board even if I had to pay for it.
  5. I would say they're definitely in that tier of manufacturers you mentioned which is why I was so surprised. Yes I totally understood that as reasonable but I'm on my 3rd day after my reply to them now and the fact that they don't have a queue system for their call in support kinda baffles me. I mean I can't even leave a message for them to get back to me.
  6. I like your sandals! Can't wait to see more of the build too.
  7. So I'm currently a little frustrated in the customer support time of a well known tech related company. I originally submitted a ticket on Jan 11 and did not get a response until Jan 14 and I submitted a response that afternoon and haven't heard a word since. I was kinda wondering what an acceptable response time for support tickets should be? I would expect 24-48 hours to be pretty standard or are my expectations out of line? I've already tried contacting support, before I sent the ticket, by phone and got a very unprofessional sounding voice recording and got automatically disconnected.
  8. Mice I find tricky to clean depending on the mouse. I generally start off with a damp(not soaking wet) cloth and get all the large areas then start working at the crevices with a toothpick and tooth brush.
  9. Was thinking if you could run a 90 compression from the top with a spacer then run it straight into the front rad. Still kinda hard to see the spacing but it looks like it might work with a really short tube run. Also what about lapping the block? You're direct die already anyways.
  10. Well let me just tell you, we really don't know what amd/nvidia have planned for the future. That being said a 2080Ti should be able to play the latest games for a while to come. Again we don't know what the future will really bring. Edit: for context I'm still using an xfx 7950 in my second pc to play games and that gpu is from 2012 era.
  11. I'm thinking if the spacing is small enough couldn't you use a thermal pad to transfer the ssd heat to the mobo tray?
  12. The new 9th gen cpu you bought is not compatible with your current motherboard. Either keep your old cpu, buy a new motherboard, or buy a used cpu that will work with your current motherboard.
  13. Kinda needs to know a little more about your situation. What resolution and graphical settings are you playing at? Monitor refresh rate? What kind of issues are you having with "bad frames"? Is it stuttering, tearing not as many as you want etc?
  14. I think the second looks better but I'm just wondering is there anyway to bring the aesthetic of the top and bottoms grills into the panel?
  15. Looks like a parallel port to me usually used for scanners and printers iirc. Edit: and for bonus points that blue one looks like a serial port generally used for peripherals like some mice and game controllers.
  16. Yea computers these days is almost like playing with lego but it's just computer parts. Just make sure any fans responsible to cpu cooling like on a rad or the cpu cooler are plugged into the cpu fan header on the motherboard(it should be labeled). Motherboards by default will be controlling the cpu fan header from the cpu temps. The others don't matter quite as much but they are generally placed in fairly logical locations like the rear case fan header will be fairly close to the rear of the motherboard.
  17. I think it's the CPU you can just barely make out the title in the top left. Anyways I think this is fairly normal looking. The cpus in my 3 systems all fluctuate a few degrees here and there. I think it just looks worse because the polling rate on your monitoring software might be a little low.
  18. That adapter will run the fans at 100%. Most motherboards these days control the fans to some extent so if you can plug them into the motherboard I would do that.
  19. Ok since you've already been answered I just gotta say your last two posts have made me feel old and I'm only 30.
  20. Like @Crunchy Dragon it's likely being automatically adjusted since that pc has an ambient light sensor beside the webcam. There should be a brightness setting either in windows or with some sort of dell software that you should be able to set a fixed brightness.
  21. Money. Dev companies will make compromises. If you had to spend an extra $2 million to make the game look 2 times better but it would only improve sales by $1 million would you still do it? No, probably not.
  22. iirc elder scrolls mod packs could make that game nearly unplayable but also look amazing. You also have to remember game devs also have a lot of other factors that determine overall quality. For example would you like to play a game that had the most stunning graphics but the mechanics were completely broken? or would you like to play a game that looked pretty decent but had amazing gameplay mechanics and an engaging story line?
  23. Will it get dusty? Yea maybe a little. Will it attract static? Unlikely. Only thing with the parts being out like this is that they're vulnerable to physical damage by things falling onto them. This is basically like an open test bench. They probably wouldn't have an issue with heat especially with a down fire cpu cooler.
  24. I think the temp thing you're experiencing is because the closer you get to ambient temp with your cooling system the harder it is to cool a degree lower on the cpu. The lower full load temps are good though. Kinda wish you had a closer/better view of your tubing runs on the front there might be a way to do it neater but I gotta say the 3 fans on top vs 2 previously looks a million times better.
