  1. Who mentioned running away, who mentioned Mexico, methinks you "protest too much". By the way I don't have a horse in this race, so I don't really care, but you seem overly invested in this whole situation is there something you're not telling us , on second thoughts don't bother telling me I don't care.
  2. Wasn't that why it went down the first time?
  3. @Trev450R Seems a very big drop to attribute to just using a different thermal paste.
  4. I never said nor implied Pistol was at fault, what I did say and meant that was people who do not have official positions ARE still (sometimes) listened too. This in no way excuses Logan, or any one else for that matter, just that it DOES happen. Oh and by the way I don't mean anything as obvious as advice like 'don't buy books' rather a subtley placed snippet such as "why do we deal with them, isn't jimmys a better company to buy books from?".
  5. You are probably too young to know without googling, but this is pretty much like the Yoko Ono ending the Beatles episode she also was someone who had no official management position/control but had the ear of John Lennon and managed to split the band. Was it happening anyway? - Probably Did she hasten the end? - Almost certainly. TL:DR You don't have to be official to be influential.
  6. Going now, shall see what it does later. Edit to add Weird, as it was working a week/month or so ago with CPU at the default -1
  7. Going now, shall see what it does later.
  8. Nothing at the mo'. Even when it was working didn't note what was GPU and what was CPU
  9. Doesn't appear so . That 45 attempts worries me. It's an Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.00GHz . No O/C
  10. My GPU is folding nicely but for nearly a week now (maybe more don't check that often) my CPU has been reporting as "ready" but never actually starts folding. I have tried stopping folding waiting a bit then restarting but the CPU still only reports as "ready" it never actually folds. What can I do to start the CPU folding? Feel free to ask me to post anything, not to daft sure on what I am doing so words of one syllable please.
  11. IBTL Ooops you mentioned pirating you wont get a lot of help here.
  12. http://www.itpro.co.uk/operating-systems/25139/ubuntu-vs-mint-which-one-is-better This seems to say it is a matter of choice (Mint being based on Ubuntu) with a sort of minor consideration/impression if you want it to act more like XP go Mint if you want something that acts like OsX go Ubuntu.
  13. I would say either . There seems to be a SLIGHTLY larger user base for Mint (so more 'cures' listed for any issues). so would go with that if I had to pick between the two , but either should not dissapoint. Isn't Ubuntu a bit older too, another tick in the Mint box? Full disclosure :- I do not use Mint or Ubuntu, my only interaction with them was playing with them yonks ago. But the above is my general impressions
  14. DDR = Double Data Rate. Memory frequency 800 MHz Memory speed 2 X 800 = 1600 MHz
  15. Honestly when talking about Micrsoft, doesn't compute.
  16. One that's 149mm (or less) .
  17. Forget it unless your a time lord and can make something fit into a space that's smaller than it is .
  18. Before beating yourself up wait and see what MS actually do . The article talks of them going to close the loophole wait untill they actually do something before saying you were wrong . Possibly they will close this loophole and (deliberately ) leave another, as yet unpopularised, open. So people can still update for free to their data gathering OS.
  19. <Mode:tin foil hat> "To close" (ie at some future date) not are 'in the process of closing ' . Will MS quietly let this loophole stand untill everyone is on Win10 ? After all it strikes me that rather than institute the predicted extension they (MS) have 'allowed' people to still update for free with this 'supposed' loophole. <Mode:off>
  20. Kyle and Paul discuss this very issue on their "Awesomesauce Hardware" show . They even have a poll with MS closing this loophole as one of the options but the "MS will stop this if it's abused" option was VERY low on the results.
  21. You definately turned on file and printer sharing ? In Win8.1 it's in the control panel > Network and sharing Center > Advanced sharing settings.no idea how you would get to it in Win10.
  22. "Say's" it's a "railway museum"; I can't see any mention of train.
