J-Stuff got a reaction from TVwazhere in New Zealand Court deems Uber drivers to be employees in landmark ruling
    Summary
Four New Zealand Uber drivers have won employment rights in a ruling against the company this morning.
This ruling re-classes the drivers as employees, not independent contractors. Giving them rights like minimum wage, guaranteed hours, holiday pay and sick leave.
The ruling, which sought a declaration of employment status for the four drivers, found "Uber has bullied its way into cities all over the world with a deliberate strategy of breaking the law and exploiting drivers - that ends here in Aotearoa (New Zealand) today."

    My thoughts
My thoughts are positive here; This could be the start of other countries re-considering what Uber drives and other "contract workers" (IE: Uber Eats, Grubhub, Door Dash) are employed as.
I see this as a positive move and hope that other places around the world take action. I'd love to hear y'alls opinions in the comments too!

Unemployment benefit has nothing to do with employers here. Work and Income New Zealand handles that and you have to be out of employment for a certain number of week before being eligible for the unemployment benefit aka Job Seekers Benefit.

Just FYI take everything you know about US employment law, employee status types etc and leave it behind if you are wondering about stuff here. Not joking when I say there is almost absolutely nothing comparable between the two countries in this area. It's just that different here.

This is intresting, As windows 11 (As with most versions of windows) comes with auto OS updates so most people wouldn't think to check if an update was installed. There is a way to fix the issue HERE. However you might not be able to update if a patch is rolled out as most OS programs do not work. (Win+R, Win+I) There are a few programs that can run with shortcuts like the Ctrl+Alt+Del screen as well as Task manager (Crtl+Shift+Esc.) Let's hope that microsoft can fix the issue via Windows update and users won't have to manualy reinstall windows.
