Galaxy2007's Achievements

  1. The subwoofer connects to a wall outlet through an attached cable, one speaker connects to the subwoofer through what appears to be a proprietary connector, and the other speaker connects through a permanently attached cable with an aux connector at the end, this cable is very thin so I'm guessing that has something to do with it
  2. I don't set my phone near the speaker wire, but I noticed when I had my phone near it to take a picture of my PC build the buzzing got a lot louder
  3. I have a set of Altec Lansing ACS-45 speakers that start making buzzing/static noises sometimes. I think it has to do with electromagnetic interference since putting my phone near them will cause a lot of buzzing. However it also happens randomly throughout the day and it's annoying to have to listen to. The cables aren't detachable but is there anything I can wrap them in to stop the interference?
  4. I recently purchased a used rx 5700 xt to replace the rx 580 I bought 3 years ago, but this new card is a triple fan one that isn't going to fit in my current case (antec 300). The fractal pop air still has optical drive bays while being under $100, but I've heard some complaints about the airflow. Alternatively I could modify the Antec 300 by cutting out a piece of its hard drive bay (not intended to be removable and is riveted in) and the card would fit.
  5. I bought it because it was a good deal (under $120) and having a 90hz display with nearly no bezels seemed like it would be nice (and it is). I specifically chose a Pixel as they seem to have the most custom ROM development, I have both it and the Pixel 3 running CalyxOS.
  6. If you're willing to wait a few months the Pixel 7a is 6.1" and $499 (great camera and oled too from my understanding). I've had both the Pixel 3 and 5 which have been two of the best phones I've ever had.
  7. Google Pixel 5, got it as a refurbished phone earlier this year to replace my Pixel 3.
  8. Unless your phone happens to have an infrared camera, it is not going to work for that purpose.
  9. I've started building my HTPC and found MakeMKV, but the rips are quite large and take up a lot of space and I only have 2 SATA ports and no nvme on my motherboard (one for an optical drive one for a 1tb ssd) so I need to save space, but don't want to lose too much video or audio quality. I don't actually own any blu ray disks yet, but id also like to know the best setting for those for when I do get some. My TV is only 720p but I do have a multi speaker soundbar so good audio quality matters more than the video quality. PC has an i7-3770, 8GB RAM and Intel HD Graphics 4000.
  10. I recently ordered a Blu-Ray drive to put in my HTPC build, does anyone know of good software for playing them? I'd like something that supports an IR reciever and also runs automatically if a blu-ray or dvd is detected in the disk drive. Update: I've decided its easier to just rip the disks with MakeMKV than actually find blu-ray playing software
  11. I'm thinking of upgrading my current PC build with a Ryzen 3 3200G sometime this year, as its not doing great in terms of performance for VR Games. I am primarily considering either the 5800X3D or 5900X since they're around the same price. I've heard that the 5800X3D is better for gaming although i also use my PC for some other tasks such as web browsing and light video editing. My motherboard is an Asus X570 Plus (i know its overkill for a Ryzen 3, but thats all I could find in stock during the chip shortage). The 5950X is also a consideration, but its a bit more then id like to spend. I also plan on keeping this build long term (hoping it'll last until at least 2030) and was wondering if the extra cores of the 5900X would be better long term because of its extra cores. Planning on pairing the CPU with 64GB DDR4, and the upcoming Radeon RX 7800/7800 XT. The monitor I have is ultrawide 1080p and 100hz
  12. This PC worked fine before I moved, but when I got it back out today it will not boot anymore. It turns on for a split second and during this time the lights on the dvd drives and ide to sd adapter turn on amd the cpu fan spins a small amount, but it shuts off right after. There is an LED on the board labeled STR LED that lights green and stays on Specs: Intel Pentium 4 2GB A Tech DDR1 RAM NVidea FX5200 128mb Delta Electronics 150W PSU IDE to SD adapter with 128gb Pioneer MicroSD
  13. Logitech G502 Hero is very quiet, although its not great if you have smaller hands
  14. Are you using older graphics hardware? I have this issue with some games on my laptop that just simply don't support its 10 year old integrated GPU
  15. Yeah I meant that it should be upgradeable, although mine isn't soldered, the max amount on my laptop is 8gb which I feel was a poor choice by Toshiba although its probably because most models using my specific motherboard had less RAM. Being able to upgrade is quite nice and has made a lot of my laptops faster
