No idea how that is possible, Rosetta is not distributing GPU work units:

I set world community grid as one backup to rosetta, and had noticed I've only been getting WCG tasks today. Even if WCG isn't doing covid-related stuff, they can help in other areas. I still need my heating! (folding on GPUs only)

Out of WUs, again. Good thing Rosetta's still keeping my CPU busy.

The F@H server page has some juicy changes today. Looks like 2 more Azure servers and the software version over the course of the day has been changing from 9.5.2 to 9.6 across their servers, must be what some of the downtime has been. Hopefully that paired with their new Oracle cloud server and potentially other resources means they are gearing up for a dramatic increase in WU deliveries.

I use Proxmox for my server cluster with Ceph running underneath for host failure tolerant storage. Works great and performs well.

You could also use BOINC a bit? Rosetta@Home also works on covit-19. And other science projects do other great job!

Not really much you can do about that. Maybe download BIONC. The Rosetta@Home project also works on covit-19 (only cpu-WUs) and other project do other awesome things in biology, medicine, climate prediction,... so your GPU can help too! Make sure to join the LTT group there too!

Oh no.  You helped cure cancer or some other horrible thing instead.  Shucky darn.  It may take some time for researchers to get the memo that the new and improved power is even available, and more time for things to actually move into the pipe and become WUs.

Bright side: we powered through all the folding that was there and are hungry for more.  we’re available.   Think of f@h as a transportation system.  A highway.  We made more lanes.  They will fill.  It may take some time though.

You could also run Rosetta@Home as they are CPU only work units and they are pushing out lots of COVID-19 WUs.

Unfortunately not without DDOSing the FAH servers. You could also run Rosetta@Home at the same time as they are CPU only work units and are running COVID-19 WUs right now. They have a decent amount of work units available.

Before judging them, you do know they are non-profit organisation and mostly run by volunteers?

Also, on the other note, ACTIVE users are growing exponentially and while their servers were okay (saying "okay" because even then there was some problems) with handling 30k users, and now they have over 400k (as of 20.03.2020.)!!!

And I imagine that number is gonna be (if it already isn't) doubled in a few days/weeks.

Actually I've had more trouble in the past setting up Folding@Home due to OpenCL driver problems and other configuration issues. Setting up Rosetta@Home is much easier, just install BOINC, choose the Rosetta@Home project and log in/ register.  Also when switching to advanced view, the User interface seems better organized and easier to use than F@H, at least for my tastes.

I've been running BOINC / Rosetta for a couple of days and it consumes 1.81GB of storage, does not seem to be much of a problem. If it is, you can set limits in the settings on how much you allow it to use. You can also set memory usage limits, CPU usage limits and other options.

F@H currently has enormous amount of contributors, but Rosetta has many many times less. Seems to me if F@H is struggling to give out WU, it is a good chance to help Rosetta@Home. Who knows which one has the right research strategy, so why not put help both.

I am actually doing Rosetta on my CPU’s and folding on my GPU’s. Since WU can be hard to get, I figured if at least get my CPU’s running 100% of the time on Rosetta.

When I saw this reply and checked it, I saw whether my computer (i5 8250u, mx150) would fit the timing in just a few hours or miss it by a few hours. And I'm talking about expiration, not just timeout. Since my primary goal was to help and as far as I can see, the time constraints are longer, I decided to switch to BOINC so that I would do the same job at BOINC and help less interested Rosetta@home Project which is also Works for finding cure for COVID-19, and also at F@H when ı leave a WU to make room for faster computers than mine waiting. The reason I wrote this is to warn owner of lower level computer friends like me, if your Base and Estimated Credits are the same, you are probably doing it in vain because you will probably miss expiration date and all data for WU will be wiped and you will not get any credits. So if your goal is to help, you can check out Rosetta@home (there are instructions at their site if you want to install it) and switch to BOINC.

Looks like they have 1.05M work units currently being worked on with another 22k in the tank. Lots of work to go around. Also at an estimated 347 PFLOPs. https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/server_status.php

You have to change one of the graphs to CUDA on Nvidia or Compute_1 on AMD in the task manager window for the GPU to see GPU utilization or use something lie GPUZ.

Do not keep doing that. You are just putting even more pressure on their server, and basically DDOS-ing it even more. Not gonna help anything.

Do it once in two or three hours, that will be enough.
