  1. I just get tired of seeing shitty threads that are filled with "I will fill in information later". How about filling in information now? You know?
  2. Looks like we needed a proper thread for all this information so I am making one, it helps being organized. A lot of new information being revealed that is pretty neat, I will add it here. Will update as I go along. Xbox One is getting early access Yea, it finally happened. But unlike the mess known as Early Access on Steam, you get demos on the Xbox One before you plunk down money. Neat, right? Source: http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-is-getting-early-access-1711427830 Xbox partnership with Valve VR I wish I had more to share on this end, but I don't. I'm trying to see if they flesh out the information on this and let us know what exactly this partnership involves. Gears of War Ultimate Edition is coming August 25th, it will have a playable beta starting today. Xbox One Elite Controller Source: http://www.engadget.com/2015/06/15/microsoft-new-xbox-elite-wireless-controller/ Halo 5 https://youtu.be/av-N5smXFpw Source: http://www.engadget.com/2015/06/15/halo-5-warzone-mode/ Backwards Compatibility This is a big deal, since PCs still don't have a proper PPC emulator for the Xbox 360 and now MS is making it work natively off the Xbox One. That is seriously awesome, AND ITS FREE. TAKE THAT SONY! Who wants to pay for your old games via a subscription service when MS is straight up letting old games work natively! Source: http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-is-getting-backwards-compatibility-1711415443 Fallout 4 Mods I can hear the PC Mustard Race having a stroke over this, as they will have to find something else to lord over console gamers for with this latest addition to Fallout 4. Source: http://kotaku.com/fallout-4-on-xbox-one-will-have-mods-1711418973 EA Access free for this week Source: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/xbox-live-members-can-play-ea-access-games-for-fre/1100-6428116/
  3. Xbox 360 is based off PPC. Xbox One is x86. I'll remind you that PCs STILL don't have proper PPC emulation for the 360, so MS doing it right off the Xbox One is pretty awesome.
  4. welcome to LTT, where if the feature doesn't make sense for you it doesn't make sense at all and therefore it is stupid.
  5. I wasn't kidding with that title, at all. Look at that resolution. That right there is a glorious, hilarious leak. Sure, some details can be gleamed but I found it more comical that THIS is what someone managed to leak. Not a potato shot, not a blurry cam; THIS. Some people have suggested that this instead would be a Turbo device, that remains to be seen. https://twitter.com/upleaks/status/609977283827249152 https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CHcTG2YUEAEP0el.png http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/39sb8c/low_resolution_render_of_moto_x_2015_via_upleaks/
  6. Well, 1999 Yuan, so if the price gets adjusted for the USD appropriately the price should be 350, just like the OPO. Is this a good deal? Absolutely. But if the OPT comes with the SD 810, is it really a good deal? Everyone else hasn't figured out the 810s issues, I doubt OP will be able to. Maybe a 808 or a surprise swing to a Samsung chip? Who knows. Lets find out. I hope they run a better launch than before and keep the social media shenanigans to a minimum. Or not, cheesy marketing seems to be a norm for these guys. http://www.androidauthority.com/oneplus-2-rumor-july-launch-616456/
  7. That'll be more frustrating for fans and curious shoppers who are in the market and are holding off. Nvidia has products NOW. AMD, if all things are to be believed, won't have them for this month. AMD missed TWO major game launch windows for new hardware (GTA V and Witcher) and they're not doing any favours by pushing off new hardware this long. I try to understand it, I really do, but I just can't.
  8. I've gotten phones sometimes MONTHS out from launch. Not having software or drivers isn't some detriment, especially when all signs are pointing towards the fact that everything except the Fury is just a rebrand. And not a "it shifts one series down" rebrand that Nvidia does (like the 680 becoming a 770, yet performing better due to upgrades) but a straight up (290 is now 390, good day) Small wonder that AMD doesn't want that many people (outside their favoured sites and reviewers) to speak on the product. What is there to talk about? Not even 5% improvements yet charging 100+ more over the older versions?
  9. Gawker as a whole is pretty shitty. Jalopnik is actually respected by automakers and Gizmodo at least earned their rights to Apple events after being ban hammered by His Holy, Steve Jobs. But all in all, the media industry doesn't give two fucks about Gawker at all. They make TMZ look rational and sane in their practices.
  10. The iPod is the crown jewel of what you'd label as innovation. People who say MP3 players were acceptable before the iPod are truly full of it. They were shit. Major shit. It was pretty embarrassing looking back. Apple brought out the iPod. Exceptionally high quality builds paired with exceptionally high quality internals, with (at the time especially) a innovative piece of music software. iTunes went to shit however, largely because it's so bloated these days but that's a different issue. The iPod line left its mark on history. It was INNOVATION. It wasn't a new invention. Key difference. It is 100% true that Apple does not INVENT a lot. They kinda don't. I mean, I'm having trouble thinking up of either hardware or software that was brand new from Apple. I'm sure it's out there, and what examples I have may actually be innovations of existing tech as opposed to inventions. Force Touch? Haptics are not new. Apples implantation innovated the basic tech into something truly kickass and tangible. Tablets? Do I really need to say more? Phones? Yup, touchscreen devices existed before but look at where the industry went after the iPhone. So many examples of where Apple doesn't have brand new tech, but they're freakishly good at taking existing tech and implementing it in far more user friendly and superior ways. That's admirable too. Not every company will create new things all the time, Apple above all else. What they do well is package things into attractive forms and sell them based off their seemingly boneheaded and obvious implementations. Let me put this another way: BMW didn't create turbos nor did they create the idea of a turbo engine. What BMW innovated on was using two turbos, one that worked at low RPMs and one that worked at high RPMs to remove the common effects of turbo lag that traditional twin turbo setups had. BMW certainly didn't invent anything. But they innovated on existing tech. If you think Apple doesn't innovate, go pick up the fucking English dictionary and walk back to grade school because God damn, you need some more lessons.
  11. LMFAO The consoles are running DirectX 11.2 and will get DX12 soon enough. Mantle? Last I checked, consoles aren't running Mantle, Vulkan or anything else that didn't come out of DirectX... LOOOL. AMD. Silly.
  12. No, they aren't. Best Buys internal system does not allow products to be sold to a customer before street date. If you try, the price shows up at 9999.99 and more to the point, the system just won't let the sale go through. For the product to be on the store shelves it means that the product itself was received from a truck, scanned into the inventory system, given a green light to be placed on shelves and had existing price tags and information cards AND it means that someone at BB Corporate issued update planograms (what they use to place product on shelves) that included shelf space of the new cards. No one at Best Buy was being 'stupid'. They follow standard operating procedure. For those cards to even be on sale, at some point someone who controls inventory gave them the green light to do so. So two things here happened. AMD (or their distributor) gave Best Buy the WRONG street date, since that is what Best Buy uses to determine when product gets released. OR This was all according to plan, AMD (or their distributor) intended on the product being placed on shelves in this manner this early.
  13. Not giving your product to LTT, easily the largest and most popular tech community right now, is not a good sign. Linus has 1 million+ people to potentially see that content. That's a lot of potential sales. I wish NDAs weren't so strict so people could speak up and let everyone know, but it's all a waiting game. AMD however isn't even bothered to combat misinformation, and they let it fester and grow out of control.
  14. UE4 already incorporates a lot of GW things, hardly a crime going on here.
  15. The Fury can be as hot as the core of this planet, I just need it to exist. I need a very capable single card solution, tired of CF/SLI, and so far Nvidia is offering something outrageously good for a not so outrageous price. AMD has diddly squat and consumers don't respond well to not seeing new things, regardless of how enthusiasts purchase things. Enthusiasts are okay going back a generation, like you can with the 290X and still get a great performing card. Normal consumers? No. New product speaks volumes for them. Doesn't matter that AMD is rebadging the 200 series. It matters that they simply have new, marketable product to show for it. AMD can worry about making brand new chips once they actually have proper money for that.
  16. I left my phone on the tarmac of a race track after a day at said track driving. It wasn't malicious. It wasn't intentional. It was an honest mistake. Only reason i got it back was because we had another event at the track the next morning, and the phone was still sitting on one of the railings where I had parked. So I got pretty lucky. People make mistakes. Shit happens. I don't know what "don't fire on all cylinders" has to do with it. You're acting as if you've never made a boneheaded mistake.
  17. Thats what doesn't make sense. Maybe this is the end of the Note series with the Galaxy line getting so huge? If you put a Note 5 at 5.7" and a S6 Edge Plus at 5.7", the only differentiating factor is coming down to bigger battery on the Note 5 and the S Pen. IMHO, the Note would be superior to the traditional phones at those sizes, simply because of battery size and the fact that Samsung isn't half bad at putting large battery capacities to good use. All the model bloat and overlap is getting outrageous.
  18. Not surprising that the FCC wants to push for something like this, going off the back of just how damn useful Actiivation Lock has been for Apple devices and now that Google and others are implementing their own anti-theft systems. I mean honestly, you can't even steal an iDevice anymore without knowing the account password, its a proper brick without that and Apple sure as hell won't help you unless you bring proper proof of purchase. Anything that decreases theft of devices is hardly a bad thing, IMHO the FCC shouldn't have to tell companies to do this since it should be done from the off. http://www.theverge.com/2015/6/12/8769851/fcc-phone-theft-prevention-remote-lock-data-wipe
  19. To be fair, most people don't pay off contract prices so its not an issue, but this just seems like model bloat. A 5.7" Edge Plus and a 5.7" Note 5, both of which carrying the same panel (likely) and perhaps the Note 5 gets a new SoC. I don't get it. The Note 5 will have a gigantic battery but all the same, so much overlap for no reason. That was rumour, this is a photo with more concrete info. Let @Blade of Grass make of it what he (or another mod) will
  20. I don't understand why Samsung needs to make a larger Edge when the Note still exists (and will likely get the dual bend display as well on the Note 5). But I don't run Samsungs product planning so I'm sure Samsung knows best on flooding the market with multiple variants for the sake of lols. No further details on newer internals or what have you, lets see how this one goes. The S6 Edge already carries a hefty price premium over the normal Edge, no idea what this one is going to command or if it will replace the Edge entirely. http://www.sammobile.com/2015/06/12/exclusive-galaxy-s6-edge-plus-will-have-5-7-inch-dual-edge-display-android-5-1-1/
  21. Yup I read that this morning and will update. It does seem more likely as HTC can't really compete without a major Injection of resources and talent.
  22. Qualcomm is in the shitter. Samsung made a 8 core that doesn't blow balls and Apples A8X is making the whole multiple core push look silly overall. Snapdragon 810 is a joke and 820 might not be enough.
  23. Yup. While Apple may be working on a car of their own, all those vans are going around getting fairly detailed scans of the roads and even more data for their maps.
  24. Please no. BBOS 10 is pretty good with its ability to install Android apps. Don't need the unoptimized mess known as Android on that kind of hardware. The Passport with its specs actually feels like a flagship phone in how smooth it runs. Don't need BBs hardware being crapped on by the same old Android nonsense.
