  1. What's the power supply in this computer? That is probably the limiting factor on whether a graphics card upgrade will work
  2. With Glasswire you can instantly see your current and past network activity, detect malware or block badly behaving apps on your PC or Android device. Use offer code LINUS to get 25% off Glasswire at the link in the video description.
  3. It's legit, just refurbished rather than new
  4. Absolutely, if anything that's overkill. You could do it with something like a raspberry pi.
  5. That doesn't necessarily mean a release, it's incredibly vague. It could mean something as simple as a demo, like we saw at CES last year for zen 2. That said, I would be very surprised if AMD doesn't release something on the desktop before Black Friday season.
  6. Yes, it would have a significant effect on performance. Think about how much time it takes to compress or uncompress a zip file. As others have said, you would be better to just clean up the rubbish or buy another drive.
  7. The thing I find annoying about these names is that for intel, AMD and nvidia, they only use 2 digits out of at least 4 in a name. There is a digit for the release time and a digit for the market segment, but everything else is just 0s or something even more stupid.
  8. Can you provide a source for that? Everywhere i've read says that it kinda works, but isn't officially supported by nvidia. Multi GPU is dead anyway. Here are some random sites that came up when I searched "1060 sli support" that suggest it isn't supported. https://www.techpowerup.com/223883/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-doesnt-support-sli-reference-pcb-difficult-to-mod https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/4rpbda/gtx_1060_no_sli_support_what_are_your_thoughts/ https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/2519-gtx-1060-sli-benchmark-in-ashes-multi-gpu https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/discover/247597/gtx-1060-sli-/
  9. 2600, every time. More threads, better cooler, better platform with a better upgrade path. It's also unlocked, so you can probably overclock it past the 9400f anyway.
  10. SLI isn't really supported on the 1060
  11. I never trusted Honey in the first place. How can something free, that's even supposed to save you money, have such a big advertising budget. It feels like a scam
  12. What about the 5700xt? Out of those two though, the 2070 is better.
  13. I feel like they all have too much money. My favourite scrapyard wars was season 3, since they bodged together something different from random junk. Now it's just the same formula for everyone: A spacious workstation with a 3rd or 4th gen i5 with an upgraded PSU, a 970, 1060, rx 580 or r9 390(which all basically perform the same) and a random 1080p monitor. They aren't even really deal hunting, just getting some functioning PC as quickly as possible. This would be so much more fun if they had half the budget, then they would have to choose between a decent CPU or GPU.
  14. Of course we're not the end of evolution. Humans have a tendency to think we are somehow special or important. We aren't, homo sapiens are just another dumb animal like any other. We have evolved in the past few thousand years(most adults can ingest lactose, only happened since we started farming cows) and all things going well we will continue to evolve. The more important question right now is whether we will last to see any of that, climate change, nuclear war, AI ect all have the potential to wipe us out if we can't stop being so stupid.
