Basically the same for me. I'd never get rid of my old portable DVD player.
Also, I would NEVER get rid of any old device with a touchscreen now that I use TouchPortal.

Well, that's exactly what I was thinking of! Thank you!

StarbirdX got a reaction from Ben17 in Suggestions for a Theoretical Build
I'm working on a part list for a somewhat theoretical build and would like some advice. Here's what I'm thinking at the moment:
My Goal: Create a semi-portable computor capable of runing most games reasonably well, of editing videos, and of being a general-use computor (web-browsing, word processing, opening files) at a reasonably cheap price (around $350?).
I know this probably sounds silly (or maybe not ?♂️), but I think it's almost achivable. One of the bigger issues is the portability requirement. However, I think if you were to make a custom case in which you could stack everything up (see image) you could solve this issue. These are the parts I've found so far:
PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QmGsK4
CPU: AMD Athlon 200GE 3.2 GHz Dual-Core Processor ($40.00)
Motherboard: MSI B450I GAMING PLUS AC Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard ($126.00 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Aegis 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair SF 450 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular SFX Power Supply ($107.92 @ Amazon)
Total: $303.91
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

So basically, I'm looking for ideas and cheap parts with a good value. If anyone has any feedback on this crazy, incomplete idea, I would really appreciate it. While deskotps are by far a better value than a comparable laptop as far as performance, the laptop still wins alot of the time because you can move it around.

Why not build something out of say a Dancase A4-SFX or a Fractal Node 202?

I make money to keep people online, does that count?

Guess I'll go with the Gigabyte then. ?

Yah, I don't think there is much difference between the boards. Nothing that stands out to me anyway.
For memory I think 2ns of latency will more than be made up for by the additional clock speeds from 3200 to 3600, especially with Ryzen.

So it looks like the ASUS Prime-P and the Gigabyte X570 GAMING X are the exact same price right now and I can't find any real differences from the Asus or Gigabit websites. Is there something I'm missing?
I think why I chose the 3600 memory is because of the greater latency (18 vs 16), but I never was able to figure out if latency is even something to worry that much about. I guess the greater clock speed makes up for that?

I would go with the Gaming X from Gigabyte instead, cheaper and has better VRMs over the Aorus elite so if you ever decide to dabble with overclocking you'll have a better experience. Also swapped the RAM for some LPX 3600 memory because it's $1 less than the 3200 kit.

Then again for the price point if VRM is a must concern the ASUS Prime-P wins the cake
