    I think that it should have booted fine just without a signal to the monitor being sent, but this sounds like a bios check up failing to detect a gpu refusing to boot

    A 3700X would be a better choice than either in my opinion. Almost identical gaming performance, more cores for better streaming performance and way cheaper than both the Intel and the Threadripper to boot.

    Honestly I'd go with a 1600 or 2600 as the GPU really doesnt need all that many CPU horses. If you do other work you may wanna get a 1700/2700 instead. Get yourself some 2666-3000MHz mem would be my suggestion.
