  1. Hey, I'm finally upgrading my network but I'm not sure what to get exatcly. I'm currently using a pretty shitty solution consisting of 2 tp link cheapo routers. I have 3 wired devices and like 5 wifi devices. The must-have is a good gigabit LAN thats actually can achieve those speeds. Currently I'm looking at MikroTik Hex router and 2 seperate APs because I can't really cover the whole house with only 1 AP or it would be in a very inconvenient place with wires coming to it(ugly). Also there would be a switch in the middle because the 2nd AP would sit in my room... What do you think? Any suggestions?
  2. Why? I need to run a BMW specific diagnostic software called DIS. It's not a program but rather an OS so it needs its own VM. The problem is that I don't have the BMW specific device to install it on so obviously I'm going to install it on my laptop. The problem is that it needs INPA(it's drivers and shit) to communicate with the OBD II reader itself. The setup has always been flaky on XP, windows 7 was worse and I'm not going to even try it on win 10 + I don't want INPA installed directly to my system as it is rather a messy installation(folders all over the C: drive, modified registry...). The perfect combination would be if I could run it off directly win xp rather than win xp VM. Q: 1. Can I run Win XP off of an external HDD? How do I install it on the HDD if I can? 2. If not, can I run VM inside a VM?
  3. Hmm, good suggestion - gonna have to find some shop to try how it feels in hand. Not thinking about that cheap either, might try out the g403 as suggested above
  4. Hmm, I'll think about it, was thinking about mech keyboard but seeing that they cost 100e+ I might just get this and deal with it Rather spend the money on car
  5. I don't really require a logitech keyboard, it just happens to be so that both are logitech at the moment.
  6. Naah, I prefer wired because of the few times the mouse decided to turn off while in csgo match There is no specific budget, something midrange probably as I dont want to spend tons of money.
  7. Hmm, replaced the HDMI-DVI cable for a regular HDMI cable, it seems that the problem got solved for the most part except for the desktop icon text...One solution is just to set the background to something dark or black
  8. I am in need of a new mouse and keyboard for my 2nd workstation(actually the 2nd seat at my multiseat setup). I have Logitech MX518 and some generic Logitech keyboard that is surprisingly good but since the 2nd workstation needs upgrade really badly, I just might upgrade the peripherals for myself. I still like the MX518 and I'm not sure if I really need to upgrade it though, maybe just get a new mouse for the 2nd. I don't want to spend a ton of money and I don't like gamer and transformer type stuff really, I want something that looks like a regular mouse with forward and back buttons if possible, but feels nice in hand and has a good enough sensor. As for the keyboard - Also don't really need gamery and red/black stuff. Backlight would be nice, probs mech(browns? havent followed the keyboard world for quite a while now ) if I'm going to buy a new keyboard. Numpad is a must though - I use it fairly often. So start firing your suggestions
  9. Tried adjusting ClearType, didn't help at all. What's BGR? Scaling is at 100% now, tried 125% and it resulted in different type of problem - it became blurry for some reason
  10. Its not a TV But yeah, I am...Not that stupid lmao
  11. My dad got a new monitor for himself since he needs it for work. Its a Philips 273V (27in 1080p). For my eye the resolution is a bit too low, but its ok. However the text looks horrible, especially the text under icons on desktop. Compared to my old Acer V243H(24in 1080p) which I got used for half the price the new monitor looks just like a cheap shit. (Note: 1PC - 2 users aka multiseat software). The text under icons has weird shadows and the text is pixelated and the text in chrome tabs looks like its missing pixels in few letters. Im already starting to think we should just return it. Also theres some bluriness while gaming and I really dislike although my dad will be working on it I still hate to see that on new monitor in 2017...
  12. I know I know, this probably has been discussed a few times but I'm kind of not sure which one to take. They both OC to about the same level but I read from 2 reviews that 1600x does work with higher frequency ram. Since ram speed does affect these CPUs, is it worth to spend extra 45euros for the 1600x considering all this? Also what budget/good enough motherboard for OCing would you suggest? Don't have the time to do a lot of research... PS. Goddamn DRR4 costs a lot - 160e at least for 16gb kit Remember that 16gb of DDR3 cost like only 70e
  13. Yaay, Im getting almost rust free chassis for my BMW e34 from Spain Gonna have to swap the suspension, engine, rear doors and trunk. Everything else I'll get from another car as my front fenders, doors and hood has rusted severely. For now I'm gonna swap in my M20B25 just to pass MOT in my country because I'm doing a chassis swap, not getting another car. Then later its going to get M50B25TU and maybe I'll stroke it to 3.0l. Thinking of wrapping it in dark grey(not sure about the color yet) vinyl wrap as it is much cheaper than painting the whole car and also provides better rust protection. Gonna post the progress here but most likely its only going happen sometime in July as I have exams now and I'm going to Germany in June to work for a month there.
  14. I have OCed my 8320 to 4.3GHz with minor voltage bump (1.3375v) but the idle kind of seems high at all times. Looking trough CPU-Z the idle speed fluctuates between 1400mhz and 4300mhz but for the most of the time it seems like its at 4.3GHz AT IDLE. The voltage stays at constant 1.3375v. Overdrive shows that mostly 3 out of 8 cores fluctuate down to 1400mhz and also 0.9v. But I don't get why all other cores keep staying so high. My GPU also seems to keep running at higher clocks than others. It's running at 500MHz @0.95v at idle although for others it goes down to 300MHz @0.85v
  15. Lol, still haven't changed the fan I can't choose the right one really, the specs of the fan that could be inside (ADDA AD1212MB-A70GL) is 80.5cfm and 2.97 mm H2O pressure. I haven't done a lot of research but I've found a few fans that could go inside: Be Quiet Shadow Wings high rpm - 76cfm, 2.7mm H2O Be Quiet Shadow Wings mid rpm - 50,5cfm, 1.6mm H2O CM MasterFan Pro Air Flow - http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/case-fan/masterfan-pro-120-af/ CM MasterFan Pro Air Balance - http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/case-fan/masterfan-pro-120-ab/ Can't choose whether to take Be quiet or CM fan MasterFan has speed controller already built in but then I still cant decide whether to take Air Flow or Air Balance. Argh, I have problems choosing the right stuff for my pc
  16. I have the TS650 for quite a while now, but lately it has gotten even louder than it had before and it was quite loud before. I just replaced 660 with r9 280x and now it sounds like a fucking vacuum cleaner. I already RMAed it earlier but it came back and they said nothing was wrong with it. I contacted XFX directly and they gave me green light that I can change the fan myself without voiding warranty. From reviews it seems that it has Hong Hua HA1225M12F-Z (12V, 120mm, 2000 RPM Fluid Dynamic Bearing) fan inside. (Maybe it's ADDA AD1212MB-A70GL but seems like those only came in early test samples) I can't seem to find any specifications online, but it seems like its just a very bad design and very high RPM fan, because there isnt that much air flow coming from the exhaust and I have tried taking it outside the case to see if it will run any quieter. Any suggestions on what fan I should put in? It's rather ridiculous that the system is quiet and then comes this stupid fan loud as...
  17. So currently I have like 2 cheapo TP link routers that do 100mbps...It's rather annoying especially when copying larger files. I went and browsed some gigabit routers but theyre kind of expensive and I'm not sure I really need the gigabit wireless, for now I need only the LAN to be gigabit. My current scheme: Modem in the garage -> Router in my room connecting my PC and wireless devices. -> by using the extra 4 wires in the cable(100mbit needs only 4 not 8) I attach the secondary router in the garage for better wifi coverage and to get wire to all other rooms How could I achieve the Gigabit speeds only for LAN now?(excluding WLAN and cheap as possible)
  18. BLADE BLADE BLADE, that laptop is more powerful than my gaming PC
  19. Or just search "Check for updates"
  20. Aww, I want to replace my 660 since it has only 2gb of vram
  21. Always wanted to have a projector in my house(room) so I could do something similiar like you, already have the white walls
  22. Theres a reason why I like these screws
  23. You can also try screwing out the standoff from the case with small pliers...
  24. isnt the outside of the screw a hexagon? I dunno but 8mm(i think) wrench should fit on it normally...You can also always try using pliers but just be careful
