The one time I like black products is if the pattern or text is in a contrasting color.
My Drop is a slate gray so the rubber grooves already define it quite a bit, the Samsung 850 has a silver Samsung accent, and the G305 has a silver Logitech G logo, which would actually be quite hard to see on the white G305.
