  1. I always choose nordvpn, and Panama it is a good reason for this, to buy security products related to USA it is like having no security products. I caught this deal on Reddit, https://nordvpn.com/coupon/deal/?coupon=3ynord so have a look maybe you will be fancy to try it as well because it went cheaper. Take an advantage of the ability to get money back guarantee and test it properly. The only thing which actually annoys me is advertising because it is everywhere.
  2. Everyone seems to want to get to the VPN market nowadays. I mean look at Pornhub
  3. Not really an option, is it? Though I will admit that Win10 updates never crashed my PC. I must be lucky.
  4. Listening to Polo and Pan now, really cool DJs.
  5. Yes, it is. PIA isn't bad either, though call me tin-foil wearing lunatic if you want, I don't like the US jurisdiction of it. That's why I keep using NordVPN because it is based in Panama. You can try the free 7-day trial if you want here. Another VPN that looks quite good is Mullvad.
  6. If it has cheap in it, then.. well it is cheap I guess All kidding aside, I would avoid it for now and be with trusted brands like Nord, Express or PIA. And wait for when thatoneprivacyguy reviews it.
  7. Wow, this is really stupid. Providing access to the police is one thing, even though I don't agree with it, but it opens up the potential exploits for hackers and other abusers. I wonder if certain apps will have their 'Australian' version with these 'features'. I'm glad that I'm not in Australia and with my NordVPN for encryption. But you know, I'm wondering one thing: if the law enforcement really wants, they will get what they want. NSA at least. I'm thinking about Tails OS maybe.
  8. Quality thread, y'all pets are cute.
  9. It shouldn't, coolers are engineered in a certain way so they wouldn't do that.
  10. As everyone said, make sure a new PSU would fit. Furthermore, I don't think that card will be sufficient for the next 5 years of gaming unless you are happy with low/medium settings. It is just the way of things.
  11. Well, with free VPNs you become the product most of the time, because who knows what they do with your data, gotta make profits somehow. Furthermore, Netflix aggressively blocks VPNs. I use NordVPN and if servers get blocked I just contact the support for a list of the working ones. So far so good. While I would like a free alternative, it most likely won't happen. Meanwhile, there are deals online like this, 60 bucks for a year isn't that bad. You can always try the free 3-day trial version and see for yourself. Or try other VPNs and see which do you like the most.
  12. Google, Facebook, Apple, your ISP, certain VPN providers are tracking you and selling your data. That's the cost of the digital age I presume. I am using a mix of Privacy Badger and uBlock origins extensions, NordVPN with CyberSec turned on, HTTPS Everywhere, DuckDuckGo for searching, ProtonMail for mail. And even this isn't enough. For example, Google Maps doesn't have a strong competitor, but it is a really useful tool, for me at least. I am considering to ditch Facebook altogether and to try Tails OS. Though you can always give them less data, at least that is my point of view.
  13. WereCatf and jj9987 both gave very good tips, especially with 2FA security and password resets everywhere. I'll just add: Don’t open shady links. Now that’s an obvious one but often forgotten. ‘X tagged you in this’ or ‘look at this cute photo’ should always be taken with the grain of salt. Especially if you don’t often communicate with that person or that link doesn’t look too good like www.asdgsdg.com/photo.exe' Use quality antivirus software. Use something free like Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials or if you are willing to pay: Eset NOD32. Don’t skimp on this, it could save your digital life. Use a premium VPN. Nowadays you can barely trust your ISP to not log or use your data for potential gains. Especially in the US where they can sell your data to the advertisers. Pretty scary right? Pick something like NordVPN and get military grade security with respect to your privacy and CyberSec feature which block malware and ads. Use social media conservatively. Even if you take all the necessary precautions but post on Facebook that you aren’t home right now, it isn’t really safe, is it? Even more, I recommend not using social media, because they track you. Everybody tracks you online. Limit yourself of Google, use Duck Duck Go for searching, Privacy Badger for tracking cookies and HTTPS Everywhere extensions for security, ProtonMail for secure encrypted mail and uBlock Origins for blocking. Also, you could get one of the safest OS out there, Tails. And since it is a Cyber Security Awareness month, here's an article I've found earlier. There are some solid tips too.
  14. Most stock trading is safe, though extra security measures, like NordVPN, won't hurt. If you choose a server near you there shouldn't be any noticeable increased lag. If you are on a public network then definitely get a VPN.
