troubleshooting Acer laptop not booting, bios issue
Dido447 replied to Dido447's topic in Troubleshooting
Verification 100% complete Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation I've tried resetting before, if I reset with "keep my files" I get this error: "The drive where windows is installed is locked. Unlock the drive and try again" If I try "remove everything" I get "There was a problem resetting your PC." Thanks again for helping -

"Startup repair couldn't repair your PC" I'm willing to do a fresh install if that's the only option, it sucks but I'd rather have a working computer then nothing. Here are a few pics of my Bios if that helps at all btw -

Hmm, I have it set to windows boot manager and that's where it boots me. If I try to go back a build I get "We ran into a problem and won't be able to take you nack to the previous build. Try resetting your current build instead (troubleshoot > Reset this PC)." -

That's what I was wondering, okay so if it's not bricked maybe the m.2 driver is corrupt? -
You guys are my last hope outside of a repair shop. Issue: Laptop won't boot, I can only access the bios and built in windows startup settings. when the laptop boots Cause of issue: In short I was in the process of updating the bios for my laptop and I think windows kicked in with an update and restarted my computer in the middle of it. I don't remember what update it kicked in at because I was updating multiple drivers one after another. Here are two I know it could of been "improve system performance" & "Optimized PCIE SSD performance" Here is where I downloaded them. PC specs: OS - Win 10 64bit CPU - i7-6700HQ GPU - GTX 960m RAM - 8GB ddr4 samsung 850 evo m.2 SSD - 250gb (OS location) I installed this drive HHD - 1TB (storage) Laptop: Series - VN7-592G Model number - VN7-592G-71ZL I've tried fixing it myself but with no luck, I realize it might be bricked but I'm willing to try anything to save it. LTT forums, you are my only hope

Nice gaming rig,I personally would bump that 8GB of RAM to 12GB but I do a lot of 3D work. 8.5/10 for me.

So I just bought corsair's Vengeance 2100 headset the other day and discovered what I think might be a problem, I was wondering if anyone else has come across something similar. When I first tried my headset on I shook my head to see how secure it was, when I did this I noticed a rattling sound in the left ear-cup but didn't pay much attention to it because it only happened if I shook my head pretty fast back and forth. After 2 or 3 days I noticed a lack of bass in my left ear and started to wonder if the rattling had anything to do with it, maybe a loose driver or something. So I guess the main question I'm getting at is, has this happened to anyone else on here? and has anyone RMA something with Corsair before, how did it go? Oh also I bought it from Amazon and it got here Monday(7/14) would I return it to them or Corsair, Thanks.

By died I mean there is no image displayed when it crashes, and after awhile it never displays anything even after a reboot. The card itself still has lights fans etc working. yea it was basicly the same for each card, the only difference would be either a black screen or horizontal bars with repeating audio. My gpu uses two 6 pin, but I haven't tried that. if it was the psu then why would that work?

So starting in August my year old Msi 7870 started crashing and finally died, from then till now i've gone through three other 7870s (all rma). My questions is why would this be happening, it has to be something with my computer. After looking around I found this: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/360031-31-computer-kills-graphics-cards, he has a very similar problem. They say it is his PSU, could that be my problem? My PSU: Corsair TX 750 80+ bronze Btw my computer runs fine without a gpu, and when I say crashing I mean the screen locks up and is either black or colored bars, and the audio repeats Using speedFan my +12V is just below 10.5(no gpu)

Ok I was looking into the dirt power problem, I changed outlets and switched surge protectors. Idk if that would do anything but my gpu seems to be working fine now but I still need to test it in a game. Would a faulty outlet or surge protector cause dirty power? If so does it permanently damage my gpu of if its fine now should i stick with it?

I have the NZXT Phantom410, with two 120mm for intake and two 140mm plus one 120mm for exhaust

This is where I found the "Known issue" http://www.behardware.com/news/12705/black-screens-and-radeon-hd7870-a-solution.html

Wouldn't that effect my other components though not just my GPU?
