  1. I guess I'm a young kid considering I've never even seen a 3DFX card IRL and I'm 21 and a few weeks . But yeah it's definitely nothing new. A lot of mediocre and disappointing/overhyped games lately though. I guess I can find one if I thought about it for a while but, yeah, overall they have a better track record than a lot of large producers... now if only they got rid of UPlay...
  2. So many people overreacting, I mean this has been done for many years under several guises: "the way it's meant to be played", "Gameworks", "Gaming Evolved" etc. All are slightly more optimized on one side at release but eventually become comparable. Only games where it actually makes a noticeable difference is ones where PhysX is heavily used, which are few and far between (e.g. BL2) on the other side we might see mantle, but again, they will probably be very few titles because developers will never waste too much time on things which won't be enjoyed by 40/60% of the PC market, let alone the whole gaming market and TXAA and HBAO+, while nice, are hardly noticeable when you have two side by side screenshots let alone while playing. I also wouldn't be so quick to point my fingers at Nvidia for the Watch Dogs optimization issues, the game is a crappy port (I've seen much worse, but still) that is so console focused it can't distinguish between VRAM and RAM as it's supposed to and treats VRAM like shared memory, for example, that doesn't benefit Nvidia or AMD as can be seen by how terribly it runs on both. If Nvidia is to blame for this, then why does it run so much better on consoles which are after all using AMD hardware?
  3. Well some golden 4770K samples are able to push 4.9GHz at 1.26V so that's pretty underwhelming...
  4. Seems like even intel is saying Devil's canyon will be compatible with Z87 boards as I expected! .
  5. x61 looks like corsair H105, probably based on the same Asetek design too but with a 280 rad, if the prices here are correct then they really need to perform quite a bit better and quieter considering they cost $20 more but considering their size they should be the best in class for completely sealed systems. X41 is at H80i money which should mean it'll offer much better bang for the buck but we'll have to see how good this pump and fans combo is, NZXT performance fans have usually been good performance per dollar while corsairs have just been good performance all around so it should be interesting.
  6. They will probably release it a month or so before the rest of the systems on Xbox, it would be stupid not to eventually release the game on all platforms, especially considering the attention it gets on the PC side.
  7. This is a response to iRacing who tried sending them a whole PDF, in response they sent them this image as a 1MB BMP file:
  8. Check my first post, I had edited with some info I think you missed . CPU-z and afterburner are good tools but HWMonitor checks all temps of the system in one place (it's made by the same people who make CPU-Z and GPU-Z), it's quite useful I have it on all PCs I use even ultrabooks .
  9. Unless you plan a massive upgrade in the near future I'd say that's massive overkill, a CX500(M or not) would be more than enough for your system with some headroom for expansion and/or overclocking and costs about half as much. Also have you checked the temps just in case?
  10. A lot of low quality no-name psus come rated by peak power, so they might not actually be able to supply anything close to the wattage they're rated for for a sustained period of time. Still it should be enough for a 650 even after 1 year of aging on the capacitors, unless they are complete crap, so it could be something else (possibly a thermal or stability problem with the new GPU). You can check temps of the whole system using utilities such as CPUID's HWMonitor (http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.25-setup.exe - just install and run, it'll show you a list of temps, stretch the window until they're all visible, run something stressful in the background and take a screenshot or just write the important ones down/take a photo if it's unresponsive and post them here). As for the PSU, the only way you can really test it out it to try out a different quality PSU which is proven to work correctly, I'd recommend getting a good PSU anyway but if money is a problem right now and you don't have access to a good PSU you might want to consider taking it to some sort of computer repair shop you trust.
  11. Oh I'm actually using realistic water 2 too, but I haven't had time to mod or play since I got my new GPU over a month ago so I've only got ENBoost installed, can't wait play around a bit with some ENBs after the exams having only run very light ENBs in the past (I have posted a few pictures here a long while ago and an album in one of the first pages) .
  12. Nice! What's the water mod?
  13. Holy balls, that's one tightly packed beast of a system I think it's safe to say the CPU is the bottleneck... a 4930K...
  14. I guess so, but I don't think I could justify spending $1000 on what is effectively a very small desk and a case. I guess it's slightly more space efficient but tbh the only big reason I see is if you really like the design of it (which I don't, although maybe the 02 could be nice with some modifications to mount a WC system instead of the ITX system, but that costs $1200...) and don't mind spending a lot, I don't think I could justify it in terms of cost though.
  15. Offices? why do you think so? I mean usually in that case it's preferable to have a pc desk which is much cheaper and the top is not so thick so it's much more comfortable to use the whole surface, especially in larger companies it also makes much more sense to just replace the whole computers anyway. This is definitely more aimed towards enthusiasts. True, it's usually almost impossible to hide cables in desk cases though, usually it's best to get sleeved cables and make them a feature. They do seem to have some sort of clip in front of the PSU, it would have been nice to have more, though, or maybe some sticky clips to put wherever you want.
  16. True, but tbh they're both too small of a desk for me to consider it anyway, especially compared to my current large L shaped one. .
  17. I remember getting my PCI dial-up modem getting fried by lightning through the telephone cables , but yeah you're probably fine.
  18. Oh wow, I did search but I didn't check so far down. yup feel free to remove this.
  19. We've all seen modders, including LTT members custom build desks to house PCs and a few other small companies have also made their own designs. Lian li will now be releasing two desks the DK-01X and the DK-02X, both will be made of aluminium with 8 drive bays per system and three monitor mounts with the biggest difference being that the DK-02X is bigger and can house two PCs rather than one (one up to HPTX and another mITX system). Prices are expected to be around the $990 and $1200 for the DK-01X and DK-02X respectively, very expensive. Check the video below for more details. 20. It got announced may 25, how is this old news?
  21. It's a different mouse . It's not the MS-32, a slightly upgraded MS-3 but the MS-2, a completely new mouse (sort of) they have just announced.
  22. Nothing much, just a different shape and different sensor, the MS-32 is a really good product though, so that's not bad at all.

    Func MS-2

I'm surprised this hasn't been posted before, or maybe I completely missed it. Func is introducing the MS-2 gaming mouse. It makes use of the Avago ADNS 3090 sensor and OMRON switches and a smaller body than the MS-32 for use with different grips or smaller hands. "No matter what game you play, the MS-2 can handle it. The Func MS-2 is equipped with the essential functions a gamer needs and is built to handle a wide range of grip styles thanks to its light, mid-size body", says Calle Conradsson, Brand Manager Func. Tech. Specs. MCU/Processor: MCS-51 Compatible Main Switches: OMRON Sensor: ADNS 3090 LED optical Memory: Onboard 512 KB Resolution: 4000 DPI Frames per second: 6400 Tracking speed: 1,52 m/sec (60 ips) Max Acceleration: 20 g Report rate: Adjustable, up to 1000 Hz Upgradable firmware: Yes, via software Connection: USB 2.0, Gold plated (2 m braided cord) Dimensions & Weight 70x130x43 mm / 2.76x5.12x1.69 in 0.145 kg / 0.32 lbs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHTQ0Zkd98w Anyone else find it funny how Func doesn't even mention anywhere that the mouse was designed for smaller hands and yet that's the only thing Linus' ad mentions ? 24. TBH that's how they should have done it in the first place at least for K processors, if anything it would just make more people buy the K series rather than the regular versions, because currently there isn't really much reason other than for enthusiasts who just like overclocking and they're still using the process for their xeons/extreme processors anyway.
