  1. I'm not really understanding what that accomplishes exactly. Why not just wait around in the non-busy area? What are the odds that a random car in a busy parking lot ends up parking at some secluded back alley or whatever? Makes sense to stalk someone, but I don't see how its beneficial in car theft.
  2. If it only alerts you of when an airtag is within ~5 meters, then I don't really see it as tracking, and idk how someone would get specific location data from that.
  3. There are already laws against this and will easily add ~12 months to a jail sentence and thousands in fines. Seems smarter to just watch the car from a distance than to risk extra jail time if caught. wait, how so? If it can inform you that there is an airtag within ~5 meters of you, then I don't see the negatives?
  4. I have Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus sound card and a pair of Kali Audio LP-6 Studio Monitors. The more power my computer uses, the more noise the speakers make. Plugging it into my UPS (that my PC is also connected to) makes it worse compare to plugging it into the wall.
  5. Mildly off topic I guess but this made me realize AMD 6000 CPUs are also releasing early next year, and its going to get mildly confusing reading about new 6000 series AMD products.
  6. You're really missing the point and over analyzing the specific details that are irrelevant to the broader discussion. Correct. The type of debt is what matters. Yes, thats the point, that debt plays no role in how financially well off I am.
  7. False. Debt as a concept is very good. It allows people to buy houses and start businesses. There are many instances in which debt is BETTER than buying with cash. One instance is interest free debt. If a loan is interest free, then it is ALWAYS better to take a loan than to pay full in cash, and that is because of inflation. Over the course of months or years, the dollar amount will be the same for the payments each month, but the value will decrease, so you end up paying less for the product in real value. Another example is investments. I have ~$5,000 in AT&T stock. It has a yearly dividend rate of 9%. That means if I want to buy something that costs $5000 and the interest rate for the loan is 5%, it would be better for me to take out the 5% loan than to sell the AT&T stock and buy the item up front. Those two reasons above are why companies like Apple have billions of dollars in cash and billion dollars in debt. Eliminating all your debt and avoiding getting into debt as a priority is NOT always the best option. "Debt isn't good" is not good general advice. I, with $60k+ in debt (house debt) am better off financially than any of my friends with $0 debt. Would you say if this person didn't go into debt, and instead went to $0 in his bank account, that it would be ok? Of course not. Its not debt thats the issue, its bad financial decisions. I had friends who would spend their money until their bank accounts went to $0. Debt has no relevance in whether someone is financially responsible or not.
  8. misconstrue? Its literally what was said. "never spend what you don't have and save for a rainy day. " is the exact quote. Thats not even remotely similar. Yes, advice differs from person to person, but the advice of never going into debt is never good advice for anyone. Saying oranges are healthy is fine because to most people, it is. Saying debt is bad isn't fine because for most people, debt is good. Something like 90% of consumer debt is from housing, education, and transportation. Maybe some people are paying too much for those things, but even for a financially responsible person, it is reasonable and acceptable to acquire some debt to purchase those things. idk where you are from but in american there is no one "health insurance", there are hundreds, if not thousands of different healthcare plans, all with different monthly payment, deductibles, medication costs, coverage, etc. And then there is also "in network" and "out of network" in which out of network can add to costs. Its a very complex system. I did literally the opposite of that. I explained specifically why they *aren't* equal.
  9. I have this one and it works very well https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0779KYKLB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I bought it since I run an online business and need to be able to use my computer to print off shipping labels and such when the power goes out. Its come in handy a few times.
  10. Then say don't buy a TV if you can't afford it. "don't spend what you don't have" is absolutely terrible generalized advice. Health insurance is incredibly more complicated than that. What they will pay for and how much of it varies greatly from person to person. 250,000 people go onto gofundme every year to beg for money so they can stay alive. Fine, they won't pay "full price", but its enough that they can't afford and have to go into debt or bed strangers for money. I'm not the one doing that. I never implied that all debt is bad like others in this thread have. "never spend what you don't have"
  11. You go to the doctor and are informed you have a serious case of cancer. Its treatable, but will result in expensive medicine, operations, and a long hospital stay. The bill will be over $300,000 with a recurring $500 monthly bill for the rest of your life for the new medication you will have to take every day. Do you choose to not get treatment if you don't have that money saved up?
  12. Oh right, what I posted was my main credit card, I use my prime card for amazon purchases So between my two credit cards, I made over $600 this year in rewards.
  13. Well thats incredibly easy to answer. the cash back rewards. Here are mine
  14. I'm shocked they weren't allowed to do that before. Had no idea there were restrictions in the first place. I really don't see this mattering much though. yea, those filthy poors not being able to pay for a $100k+ house in cash. Imagine being them. which state?
  15. Thats just how the process works. Its like asking why the government doesn't just send people to jail and instead put them in court first
  16. Its mentioned in your post. " to block the largest semiconductor chip merger in history to prevent a chip conglomerate from stifling the innovation pipeline for next-generation technologies". Nvidia by no means is in a vulnerable position and needing to merge with other companies to be able to compete. They are able to compete plenty well as is.
  17. I've been watching for a while and I never learn anything from his main videos. I learn a LOT from wan show, but in his main videos, he just goes through things to quickly. They rarely really explain things, they just list data and numbers. I feel like linus explains stuff best on the wan show.
  18. Forced to do what though? They can't know if someone is using bots on their website unless they take action to stop it. Unless the law enforces use of captcha I guess.
  19. but, then, if the companies don't care, then how could this law possibly be enforced? Only companies have any data on purchases
  20. Right, but clearly that didn't solve the issue. This sounds more involved, specifically for things like concert tickets where its very likely for multiple tickets be bought with people of the same or nearby address. Its definitely possible to investigate orders to determine if they were performed by bots, but I believe thats a very involved process.
  21. They sell cables that you can buy when you buy your phone though, so I don't see your point? https://store.google.com/us/collection/accessories_wall?hl=en-US&productType=Adapters+%26+Cables Its just now its optional rather than bundled. ...what? How? Literally how is this worse than if the phone came with its own, unique, cable port? You have two choices, get a device that MIGHT work with your old cables, or get a device that 100% won't. Why would you EVER choose a world where you know 100% sure your old cables won't be compatible with your other future devices?
  22. Isn't the whole reason this is even an issue is because its near impossible to tell who is a bot and who is real? Look at the lengths LTT had to go through to ensure real gamers got GPUs. If it were a simple thing to detect bots, they would have done that instead I'm sure. How could you possibly determine who is or isn't a bot? Think about EXTREMELY common features of modern browsers that auto-populate form details. Would that be considered bot use? You can't just look to see how fast data is enter or navigated on a page since there is a lot of automation a normal person can use while buying products.
