  1. Budget (including currency): Around 600-800 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Triple A titles gaming at 1440p 144hz Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hey all! My friend bought her PC from IBUYPOWER back in 2020 and it is time for an upgrade. We are looking to upgrade storage and GPU first. The current system specs are: CPU - Intel 9700F GPU - Nvidia 1660Ti RAM - Apacer Panther Silver 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 CL16 Memory MotherBoard - Asus TUF B365M-PLUS GAMING Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard PSU - CWT 500W 80 Plus Non Modular PSU Power Supply. Case - Some Micro-ATX case Here is what I suggested we upgrade first (Open to other ideas as well): 1. Storage - Add a NVME SSD and reinstall windows/games on it 2. GPU/PSU - I am not really familiar with what GPUs are good anymore and could use some help. Is the 4070 super okay? The system will need a new PSU as well Here is the PC part picker list that I suggested but I told her to check this forum on what you all suggest - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6gvdt7
  2. Thank you! I will update the build with those spec. The 10TB drive is just processing large data input/outputs, will have backups for important stuff
  3. This build is going to be used as a work station for machine learning and designing things in AutoCAD. It will also be used for some triple A games. This is what I put together so far, I am looking to get things on blackfriday. I know the new AMD gpus are coming out soon, is it worth waiting for them? This is the PC part picker link - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LCrKRv Please help me critic this build!
  4. My PC setup is 3080Ti with 5950x for gaming and Mackbook pro for work, I am looking to get a new monitor that is well suited for both. I am willing to spend up to ~1k USD for the monitor and I am looking for recommendations. Things to note: My room is gets a lot of sunlight, so I need something that works well in bright rooms Minimum 144hz refresh rate Needs to have great text clarity for work I am currently looking at the LG 38WN95C-W LG 34GP83A-B GIGABYTE G34WQC A 34" Or I am thinking about 2 monitors, one 1440p 27inch monitor with another vertical monitor
  5. Hi, For my build I have a MSI motherboard, G skill neo ram and SteelSeries apex pro keyboard. I want to sync up the RGBs for all those. Which RGB sync software have you guys tried that are good? I saw a couple options OpenRGB, JackNet RGB sync, Signal RGB. I read that OpenRGB may break my MSI motherboard?
  6. oh didn't know wasn't allowed here, mb. Thought that was pretty common for new PC builds to get a cheap windows 10 key. Apologies.
  7. I am currently building my new PC and I heard you can get cheap copies of windows 10. Where could I get this? Could you give link me some good retailers ( I am in Canada if that matters ) I tried looking on ebay but they are all 50 CAD. I heard you can get for around 10 dollars
  8. I know the Meshify is better in cooling but I really like the looks of the NZXT H710i. Is this case good enough to cool my setup?
  9. Another question. I was doing some research and saw that gen 4 drives barley give any performance benefits for gaming. Since the motherboard has 2 m.2. slots one gen 4, one gen 3. Is it smarter to get a 500 gb 980 pro (on sale rn) for my boot drive and then a 1tb 970 evo plus (also on sale rn) ? Also, I really like the looks of the NZXT H710i. Is this case good enough to cool my setup? I know the Meshify is better in cooling but I really like the look of this case
  10. I think I'll go with this then https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/vW4Cj2 Just debating on the case now, not sure how much I like the Phanteks Eclipse. Perhaps no RGB and just go with all black with the Meshify 2 Edit: yea updated the case with the Meshify 2 https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/kXM8nL. Will just put a led strip on the inside if I decide I want more rgb later on How important is it to use 3600 vs 3200 ram speed for 5900x? Thinking of upgrading the memory to this
  11. Thanks, yea I'll use update my parts to use your recommendation. What's the difference between the ssd Kingston A2000 and the 980 pro I chose before?
  12. So when will people take advantage of X570? Might this be a concern for me into the future ( 3-4 years from now probably will do some upgrades) or should I really not worry about it. Also any other good case recommendations? I just did some light research and found the Fractal Design Meshify 2 to be a good choice
  13. Budget (including currency): Not my main concern, just looking for good value for my components. Country: Canda Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Triple A gaming, aiming for gaming at 4k 60fps+ or 1440 144fps+ Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Updating from my previous post Please help my 3080Ti, 5900x build - New Builds and Planning - Linus Tech Tips, decided to add a bit of RGB to my build and update some components. Will most likely try to overclock in the future. This is what I have now, anything you guys would update? https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/stpbqp One question: the cpu cooler, ram and motherboard are made by different manufacturers. Is it possible to sync up the RGB?
  14. Oh I see, I'll probably get a X570 board then. Budget isn't my main concern, I just want to get the most value out of money. Guess I should rephrase what I said about bang for the buck. Any X570 recommendations?
