  1. Hey everyone I am about to buy a used monitor from someone, He says that there are no dead pixels and he is letting me test it. How should I test a used monitor, are there tools online for this? What do you guys do when you buy used monitors? Thanks!
  2. Sure! what do you suggest with that? does XPS 15 support Thunderbolt?
  3. how are the G5 with battery life? I need it to last 5hrs at least
  4. Are AMD based laptops a lot faster? I don't know much about the new AMD chips. I found an Inspiron 17 5000 with AMD Ryzen™ 5 2500U Mobile Processor with Radeon™ Vega8 Graphics for $899.99CAD
  5. On dell's sale, I saw an XPS 15 with i5-8300H Processor (8M Cache, up to 4.0 GHz, 4 Cores), Intel HD 630 and 1TB 5400RPM 2.5" SATA Solid State Hybrid Drive for $1200 CAD, 922.48US. I will mostly use this laptop for school so battery life is important and the most demanding game I will play on it is probably OverWatch or League of Legends. Another option is the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 with i5-8250U Processor (6MB Cache, up to 3.4GHz) and NVIDIA GeForce MX130 4GB GDDR5 for $949.99CAD, $ 730.31US. Is this a better deal? Which one should I get or are there better deals?
  6. Lenovo seems to fit into the price range pretty well with the specs, any recommendations?
  7. display size is 15 inches and weight doesn't really matter however, battery life perf 6+hours Primary use is going to be for school so we value that over GPU performance, *Not gaming focused I am looking into some 2 in 1s Zenbooks
  8. Thank you! Let's say we don't care about GPU performance as much and we would rather value better display, looks and battery. What would you recommend? I am looking at the hp spectre
  9. Hi, we have decided to spend $1000 Canadian on a laptop. We do some light gaming from time to time like portal2, league of legends and overcooked,(steam games like that) nothing too GPU intensive but I definitely want to have a GPU on her laptop. She is going to use her mostly for school-related purposes(so no gaming look please) like research, coding, writing documents, and movies (nice display preferred). I am looking at Lenovo Ideapad 720S 15 or ASUS ZenBook 13 UX331UN-WS51T Any good suggestions? Thanks!
  10. https://www.bestbuy.ca/ , amazon.ca , any manufacturing website that has a Canadian website would do
  11. weight is not really a big issue max like 5 pounds
  12. Thanks a lot! let me know if you find anything better also, it looks like the UX331UN is not available in Canada, is there a model similar to that?
