    seems like just for compatibility's sake, you should get a 1660 super, or specifically an evga 2060 ko for compute performance if you fancy that (read up on it, that particular model has a 2080 die and kicks ass in rendering and whatnot)

    The GPU is not that big of improvement, but getting extra VRAM will help. So I would probably go for it just for that reason, and use more money on CPU or SSD. Having all your files on SSD when editing helps too.

    No need to download an extra client like Putty if you are on Windows 10 1809+.
    Windows now includes OpenSSH, just open a cmd or powershell and type 
    ssh hostname  or
    ssh user@hostname

    Pick the cheapest modem you can get and run it with bridge mode.
    it will run the internet purely as a modem with that mode, so the pfsense would do your heavy task.

    Can't you just turn your current adsl modem/router into modem only mode?  then you just add the pfsense box.

    Get a switch! Not just the one provided by your ISP or one of those combo routers, AP, and switch devices, but a full blown 16-24 port switch for everyone to plug into.

    Most of it will be trouble shooting lol. 
    But yeah make sure you have lots of desk space, Ethernet cables, and a switch or two and power bars.
