  1. You probably wouldn't experience any bottlenecking issues
  2. You could try going into your bios and cranking the fan(s) if they aren't already
  3. Getting a desktop would be the better option long-term but in the short-term, right now is sorta a bad time to get a few parts. GPU's in particular
  4. You could try a fan splitter, they sell them everywhere pretty cheaply. You could also try an adapter for your power supply, you wouldn't have any fan control for the fans hooked up directly to the PSU, but it'd get the job done if that's what you're looking for.
  5. Initially I tried to just tune down my CPU to just turbo, but then even turbo was still causing issues. I've heard about a lot of inconsistencies with the 10900K in particular. As you've probably seen, I've had many XD
  6. I ended up having to de-clock my CPU. It was running @ 5.1ghz(now my i9-10900k is running stock @ 3.7ghz) but it turned out to be the main culprit for my GPU issues(it seemed like a GPU issue but was more of a system instability issue).
  7. You go into your bios and see if there are any turbo-esk modes on. Try turning them off and rebooting to see if that helps at all(This includes your XMP RAM profiles if present). Sometimes PC's are just hella unstable.
  8. Have you checked the thermals of any of your other components? CPU, GPU(assuming you have a GPU installed)? Just to rule out a few of the potential suspects?
  9. Is the PC fairly clean inside? I assume if you have had it for awhile, that everything is likely seated properly. Also, where is the exhaust fan located? Top, back, front, bottom?
  10. I have the same issues with 1200mb/s internet, for Steam(rarest occasion), Origin, and Epic. Usually it depends on the game for me. You could try downloading a different game just to see if it is Epic or the game's servers that are causing the trouble.
  11. Soldering and welding are two very different things. Both use different metals and require different amounts of heat or lack of heat(depending on the use case).
  12. Is it a "burning smell" or just the usual "new electronics running" smell? In the past I have had power supplies that put off a strange smell for a few days before kinda fading out. Edit: Is this a new PC or one that has been used for awhile?
  13. From which angle were you trying to install it at? With M.2s, usually you have to install it at an angle, rather than installing it horizontally(meaning it's installed at an angle and rests at a horizontal angle once installed).
  14. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if it was just the Epic Store doing it's usual thing. It's likely just slow. Probably doesn't have anything to do with your PC specs or internet connection. Just bad Epic servers.
  15. How long have you had your AIO cooler? Also isn't there a certain way that you supposed to mount them so that they don't fail? I remember seeing some vids awhile back talking about the radiator positioning in relation to the actual CPU block(which houses the pump). Do you happen to have any other CPU coolers you could use to see if your CPU cooler is malfunctioning?
  16. What kind of storage device are you using? If you aren't using an SSD, that's another minor improvement cost that can really getting a system running even in just regular task I've noticed.
  17. Why don't you just use the bluetooth functionality?
  18. Personally, I would save the money that I would spend on a new CPU and just dump all that money into a GPU if you can find one and want a noticeable performance shift, especially with gaming specifically.
  19. The newer the better for AMD Ryzen as I believe some of the earlier gens had some issues. I can't remember what exactly the issues were but I remember briefly hearing about them in the past, relating to not meeting on paper performance and drawing lots of power(I believe, do your research. Even YouTube should suffice.).
  20. I would start with making sure all the cables and hardware are seated and inserted properly. Then, if you have anything overclocked, disable it. Even if it is some small non stock clock like using an XMP profile for your ram. You can could also trying turning down your CPU clock(in means of disabling any turbo modes if present). Finding an equilibrium for your system is one of the hard parts of PC building and maintenance.
  21. If you are trying to stick to intel, i5's are usually a pretty safe bet as far as price to performance ratios go.
  22. A black screen even in bios is weird. Especially when considering you said that a game had started. If the GPU was truly disabled, typically games require a GPU to even start, so if you attempt to start a game without a GPU the game will just crash right away. I'm suspecting that there may be more than just an issue of a GPU at bay. Have you tried running the laptop off of an external display? Like even just a tv or something?
  23. The link works, you just have to copy/paste it into your browser. I agree the lack of hyperlink is subtly annoying haha
