  1. Not gonna lie, I wouldn't bet on it, lol. Normally LED MTBFs are over 50000 hours. That's about 6 years
  2. Turn off the setting that's like "The LAN is allowed to switch on my PC" in the BIOS. Sorry I can't remember exactly what it's called. Normally fixes problems like this. Hope this helps EDIT: It's "Wake on LAN" or something similar
  3. Why would some of the LEDs "just die"? LEDs tend to be pretty reliable. I'd expect the keyboard to be replaced/repaired under warranty if even 1 LED died.
  4. Schoolboy error! Still not sure how I got that A-Level in maths! GG
  5. Considering the pain of using Bing compared to Google, the 500 days of "Binging" is not worth $5. That's over a year to earn $5... and that assumes that you do 20 searches a day, every single day!!! You have my respect for putting up with Bing, but my god, why do you put yourself through it... Just for $5, like once every 2 years. I'd have to be being paid $5 every 2 minutes to use Bing  EDIT: Schoolboy maths error, it's 50 days not 500
  6. Dell U2515H. Highly recommended. Review here. Hopefully in your price range
  7. Ask for more help and support. Explain the problems you're having and how you're not as fluent as you feel everyone is expecting to be. If they're decent people they'll spend time helping you out. I was an apprentice hardware engineer and people were always happy to help me out. I'm now a fully fledged hardware engineer and wouldn't be where I am without the help and support of the more experienced engineers. However, sometimes I had to ask. Just ask, I'm sure that the more experienced programmers/bug fixers around you will be more than happy to support you. Hope this helps
  8. I've had my crappy HP monitor for over 6 years and it has one dead pixel. Apart from that it's as good as it was on day one
  9. I agree. Think this is the best solution.
  10. I was a console gamer for many many years (5+ years). I moved over to PC about 3 years ago and have never looked back. I love it. Also, I still play console. You don't have to do one or the other, you can still do both. I haven't upgraded my PC since I bought it either, and I feel it's still powerful enough for most of the games I play Hope this helps!
  11. http://www.rapidtables.com/calc/electric/energy-consumption-calculator.htm This should help you out kWh*price/kWh=cost of running your PC. Hope this helps EDIT: So yes, looks like you're right to me
  12. You'll have to re-download all your music. I HATE having to uninstall and reinstall spotify
  13. So with Corsair link, I've run into multiple problems of the same variety as you're describing, multiple times. I've given up on using it as I've kinda just decided the software is crappy and I can't be bothered to debug it every hour when it stops working. I had issues with it detecting fan speeds, colouring of the LED on the H100i itself, detecting temperatures. All sorts. Imo, Corsair link is terrible and I've completely uninstalled it; given up on trying the change the LED colour on my H100i (the main reason I want link to work). Sorry I can't give better advice, but thought you might feel better if you're not alone! As for plugging everything in, you can get USB header splitters, but I've heard there can be issues with addressing. You're better off waiting for someone who knows what they're talking about to advise on that! Hope this helps!
  14. I know you mean well, but adding a resistor in the cable of a power supply would not reduce ripple and would waste power. No power supply will have a resistor in series with the cable or in the cable. Capacitors and inductors are used for reducing ripple
  15. I don't think a dead chip would stop you updating the BIOS. I'm not certain this is the case though
  16. Yes but it will run at full speed all the time
  17. "This war of mine" looks awesome EDIT: Sorry I completely misread your post. I thought you wanted one to PLAY, not to make. I'll see myself out. Good luck
  18. 2A is not a slow charger. 1-1.5A is a slow charger. EDIT: Qualcomm quick charge is only 24W
  19. 2.1A at 5V is 10.5W. That's the standard for high power phone chargers and tablet chargers. 12W is plenty for these kinds of applications. A standard USB 2 port is only like 5W max.
