Tech Yes City has a relevant video if the safer aforementioned methods don't work.
Be aware that it's not the normal WD40 lubricant but a cleaner.
    Never used it myself.

And der8auer has a novel solution that I haven't tried.

Is your cooler installed tightly onto the motherboard? If so you can try to loosen it a bit. This helped with my pc. But my setuation was a little different.

I think you should “wash you motherboard socket with some rubbing alcohol, but make sure it’s not electrically conductive, them let the motherboard dry for some time. I don’t know how much exactly sorry.

The makers of WD40 have a product to clean electronics.  I've used it on the internals of a PSU and I think the person that recommended it to me used it on a motherboard.  However, I can't say for certain it won't harm a motherboard.  I mention it now because it is pressurized and may work at getting the hard to reach paste out of each hole.  Like I mentioned before, though, it can be done with a toothpick and lots of patience.

Today I finished the metal work on the case. I cut the window out. I also cut a part of the rear IO out and made a custom GPU mounting bracket for this case. I removed all the stickers on the parts and sanded down all the parts for a new coat of spray paint.

    It's comming together... ?

Hey guys! I just want to show you my progress on an "experiment" with a trashed HP Compaq PC that I pulled out of the dump (legally ?).

The PC came with no HDD (otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get it), only 2GB of DDR3 memory and a Core i3 2100. Yep not much really, but for free and I always wanted to do a pointles modd on a PC anyway ?.

Alright, I first started sleeving all the cables of this little HP machine. It actually has way less cables than standard PCs but it comes with lots of IO-Cables that are rather thick and diffcult to work with. Nothing that could stopp me though.

After I sleeved every single possible wire in this PC I decided to take everything apart and spraypaint the front of the metall chassis silver (it was black). My aim is to get a silver shine through the black plastic shroud.

That's basically where I'm at rightnow. I will spraypaint all the CPU-cooling parts silver too. I'm also gonna cut a window into the sidepanel and get some lighting in there.

I like working with acrylic but I don't know what I should modd by using it inside the PC...

If you have any recommendations and idea, please feel free to share ?

Just got home and put the ram and video card in.  Having slight sag with the video card.  Like very slight.  Anyone have any tips to get rid of this?

I've seen a lot of creative ways to deal with GPU sag, but no solution I'd call perfect. One build had a fishing line tied from the roof of the chassis to the end of the GPU. It looked good, but it required some nimble tying and obviously it's not convenient if you change out any of your components in the area.

I kind of like the GPU-stands I've been seeing lately. I don't remember who it was, but one of the tech-tubers showed off a stand/crutch/pole that came with the card, and it was kind of cool looking. I could go for something like that.

Will be getting ready to drill out some holes to place in the reservoir/pump soon.  Just a quick pic of where it should be around and look like.  Not sure if I am going to drill through the floor into the bottom compartment to run tubing or try and run it down the right side of the case yet.

So definitely ran into some hicups that stalled me out some but got second radiator and putting mobo back in.  Also put some other case mods in to clean it up.

So was wrong waterblock.  New one came in and is installed now as well as more screws needed for radiators.  Also had to take mobo out for custom 900d case parts to clean it up which I am waiting for to come in.  Heres pics of that stuff though.

Next I prepared the case some by removing the hhd/ssd bays and some other parts.

Then installed the mobo and psu.

After this I took apart an asus rog strix 1080ti to attach the water block and was pretty nervous.  In the end it was the wrong block so I had to re-order the right one.

Now I went to get the radiators setup and put in, however ran out of screws  because I did not order extra for the push/pull config unfortunately.  So did not get to finish the 480.  And did not even start the 360 yet.

So I started installing components for my first water cooling build in a 900D.  Here are pics and stuff from along the way.  No where near done.  And have never done this before.

First step for me was to clean out the 360 and 480 black ice gtr radiators from hardware labs.  Each rad was flushed aprox. 10x, but pics from first 4 flushes.
