I'm going to be going for a RAM upgrade for my laptop in the next few weeks if I can. One of the following variants will be had, for ~32 USD (per stick) shipped (due to my international component sourcing) :

  • 8GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 SODIMM
  • 8GB PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 SODIMM
  • 8GB PC3 - 8500 DDR3-1066 SODIMM
  • 8GB PC3 - 6400 DDR3 - 800 SODIMM

The module(s) in question is a single stick. If I can get the funds, I'll consider getting two of them, since 16GB is better than 12GB (since I already have 2x4GB in the laptop), assuming all other factors are identical. Most likely will attempt to buy it around the same time as the GTX 1080/1080 Ti.

@DrMacintosh The laptop in question uses DDR3. What do you expect me to do? Bust the APU's package and pop the DDR3 memory controller for a DDR4 one instead? :P

@James Evens The APU in my laptop is an AMD A10-5750M. Having more RAM would help in certain scenarios where the game needs more space for textures, and is not being limited by the processing/compute capabilities of the integrated graphics.
