  1. Indeed, even Microsoft with Windows and Windows phone were not well integrated. Though they are making strides with Android to make the it work better. Especially with that Phone Link thing. Samsung with their phone, watches and earbuds are probably the best alternative to Apple as far as ecosystem goes.
  2. Is this a recent PC purchase or have you had this computer for a while? If recent purchase, contact the seller to see if know what's up. Is the issue something new and there were no issues before? If you've had this PC for a while and this is a new issue, it means something might be going on. Have you checked Task Manager to see if anything was using a lot of your computing resources ? When was the last time you updating the drivers? Newer game updates might require newer GPU drivers to work properly. When was the last time you checked the temperatures of your hardware ? Might be a good idea to dust off the computer if you've had this for a while. To check the temperatures, I suggest the ZIP version of HWmonitor, simply extract and run : Did you overclock the CPU or the GPU ? If so, revert to no overclock and retry the game to see how it plays. If it works fine, it means the hardware got "older" and you need to readjust the overclock. Is the RAM running XMP / EXPO ? If not, set it that way in the BIOS.
  3. If pins were bent from Amazon, it means the CPU wasn't new and whoever returned it probably killed it one way or another. There is certainly something that could possibly be done with BIOS Flash Back, because that CPU wasn't supported out of the box when that motherboard came out. The 5700G compatibility was added in 7C91vA7.zip. Which, while it dates back all the way back in 2021-07-07, could be because that motherboard is old stock that was never updated. Unlikely but possible. I would still 100% return that CPU, though. Right, instead of getting bent pins on the CPU, they could've got a bent pin on the CPU socket. Which is arguably worst because it's harder to DIY fix it. Keep the trolling for Off-Topics.
  4. faster clock means nothing when the instruction per clock is trash tier. AMD CPUs at that time were not competitive at all. The Xeon, even with the lower clock, will outperform that Bulldozer CPU.
  5. The PC I use at work has 8GB of RAM. It's not enough. It's getting pinned out at 8GB doing some basic things like opening word, our in-house work software and a browser. Which slows everything up. Even more so when the slow HDD is failing to keep up. Run till fail mentality, man... At home, it might be "ok" if all you're doing is basic web browsing and some word processing. But corporations have a ton of background processes that runs and use up precious resources. By default, windows 10 alone takes up 3 to 4GB of memory, this doesn't leave much on the table. Heck, at home right now, I have over 8GB of used memory. Not sure how exactly 2678MB = 8.7GB of used memory... but it's using it.
  6. Canada primarily use british english / a bastardized version of it mixed with US english. That's why we use colour, favourite, flavour... While also spelling some words like the Americans do. We don't exclusively use American English, at all. Here's a "blog" on a literal Canadian government website that talks about it: https://www.noslangues-ourlanguages.gc.ca/en/blogue-blog/canadian-spelling-eng
  7. 7 years of support is great. They say live voice translation? ... Now if Samsung(and Google) could stop pretending like Canada is part of the US and give us phone call recording again, that'd be great. Especially considering they would need to be recording calls in some manner for this live translation to even work.
  8. Change the fan curve in the BIOS. Probably set too low to start 3 fans off a single header.
  9. Here I am, having thrown out nearly a hundred colored lightscribe blank CDs/DVDs, jewel cases and my external lightscribe disc drive a few months ago because I will literally never use that stuff again... It had been gathering dust for the past 5+ years. Could've made money selling them to GenZ thinking this stuff is "retro" and worth more than a dime.
  10. They really should just focus on making TGV trains instead of this unrealistic hyperloop stuff bought back into discussion by Elon's crazed mind. It's above ground and relatively simple to build.
  11. They seriously updated a 12 year old game just to cripple it further? What a waste of resources... What's the point of adding a new DRM to an old game. It was already pirated long ago. There's no saving those sales.
  12. US sanctions. /Edited : Political talk is not allowed. I'm genuinely not surprised scammers are trying to sell these as genuine GPUs... without the GPU.
  13. I'd rather have a jetpack.
  14. "Linus talks about the new CPU, reads what intel has to say about it. Shows benchmarks for it and gives his thoughts". -The video. It's a CPU. Unless Intel moved from Silicon to Graphene or there's a major leap in performances(which there is not if I'm to believe GN reviews of the desktop chip thus far), it ain't interesting enough for anyone to care about.
  15. The floorlamps would provide the most brightness to the room. You can put these type of 100W equivalent 1500 lumen LED bulbs and the entire room would be lit up no problem https://www.homedepot.ca/product/philips-led-a19-e26-100w-equivalent-a-line-energy-saving-light-bulb-daylight-5000k-2-pack/1001006062 There are also controllable smart LED bulbs that you can dim and change the color temperature through an app. To create whatever ambiance you want. The LED strip will only provide ambiance lighting at best like what you can see on the amazon reviews that posted videos of them. It might be hard to see some stuff that you drop on the floor and what not. Be aware that while the product page says "5 watts", it may not actually 5W. Someone responded to a question saying it's actually 36W. It all depends on what you want and how much efforts you want to put in this.
  16. You won't be running GTA5 on the headset anyway. Beside, it's Apple. They aren't known for putting a lot of storage on their devices. Otherwise, how would they sell you their cloud services.
  17. To bridge two wires, never just bring them together and tape them up. Use proper connectors. Like marrette wire connectors or butt splice connector. If the rubber casing on the wire is damaged, just cut that part off and use a butt splice connector to link the two cables together. THEN put electrical tape over it if you want. The insulation of the tape alone may not be enough to isolate the two wires from one another.
  18. I'll be honest, I had not even noticed this. Even though I had used long press many times in the last few days. It does look to only show apps you have installed, as I only had Amazon show up on the list for me. That said... Honestly, I can see the appeal for some people to have their favorite store show up on a quick press. No need to copy, open the app and then look it up. As long as it is limited to select few pre-approved apps and not every apps can just hijack your longpress menu to add their junk. While google added this feature, it wasn't google that enabled this for each apps. It's Amazon themselves who updated their app to have this thing in it. If you uninstall the updates, it will be gone. The apk from last october (26.21.0.100), is confirmed to not have this built-in according to a reddit comment. I tried it, it worked. But then again, you have to get access to a secure apk, maybe not worth it... This is why I hate when apps automatically update. You could always uninstall the Amazon app, launch your browser, go to Amazon and through your browser, use the "add to home screen" feature to make a pseudo app.
  19. just rip the audio from the youtube version and listen to that if you can't wait.

That explains it. I had also looked at the website and there was no mention of it at all. Weird how they got the one unit without.
  21. I was watching the AYANEO SLIDE video and it suddenly disappeared. Is there a reason for that?
Some comments were saying it has a touchscreen while Linus showed it did not... But there's no mention of a touchscreen anywhere on the product page and the indiegogo. Surely that's not why, right?

No wonder. Can't imagine why they would send one without it and not tell LMG!!!

Linus is right, no TS would be a dealbreaker.

Sounds more like an "oh shit this is bad, let's quickly rework it to add a touch panel and pretend it was always meant to be there"...

  22. "You are Star-Lord. The fate of the galaxy and the Guardians is in your hands. Time to show the universe what you’re made of. You got this. Probably." https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/marvels-guardians-of-the-galaxy Well reviewed game, 9/10 Steam 8/10 IGN 8.6/10 IMDb 96% Google users liked this video game... I'm surprised they got this one for free. This holiday has been pretty good as far as free games goes from EGS.
  23. Record yourself unboxing it start to finish without any cuts. Ideally have someone else record or set the camera in a position that films everything. Or refuse the package for it to be returned.
