Lucky you because more and more games uses 8-cores!

AMD just has way worse single core performance.
That's why they try to shove as many on a chip as they can.
Makes it seem like it will be a better chip for the price.

You want to OC the 8350 to 4.4GHz or so and add some faster RAM to make it even - the RAM on the i3 does contribute some 10% to performance in CPU-bound scenarios

nasyesta36 reacted to Nena Trinity in AMD FX 8300 vs i3-6100
Well 1333MHz RAM is very slow so you can get 1866MHz/CL9 or 2133MHz/CL10 RAM then overclock the CPU to 4.5GHz or above!

Try OCing the motherfucker, and get some faster RAM. While it doesn't matter too much since most AMD CPUs from the FX line fucking suck with high speed memory, it's something.

z97, i5 4690k.. Probably need ram too.. Make sure you have 8GB DDR3 to go with it
Your card isn't amazing but it will be held back by that system in BF4 and newer games in a significant way.
I'd actually be tempted to sell your whole rig and start from scratch (sell it as an entry level gaming PC) then combine the $600 with what you get for it and add a new GPU, PSU, storage and case... should be doable
Ohh and follow your own topics to see notifications of replies.

nasyesta36 reacted to W-L in Case Mod Question
It will help a bit bit it's a 92mm fan so it may be a bit loud if you get ones that are high peforamnce. I'm not sure how much room you have in the front but there are slots on the side of the front panel maybe you can install a fan there to help bring in fresh air while also exhausting.
-
nasyesta36 reacted to W-L in Case Mod Question
@nasyesta36 For that case you could cut the bottom and install an extra 120mm fan as an intake to provide more airflow. To cut it you can use something like a jigsaw or Dremel/royalty tool to cut the opening. I would also be sure there is enough clearance between the floor and bottom of the case for air to get in or add some thicker feet.

Step #1: Get a big and thick drill
Step #2: Drill the case
Step #3: ?????????
Step #4: Profit
Enjoy your 100% dust magnet!
Jk. You are better off with buying a new case.

I say, if you can wait, R7 260X. I am waiting for one, and it's cheap, under USD150.
