Yeah it is stable. And would be great for that use case. Just get the 1700.

The RX 480 is often as fast or faster than the GTX 1060 6 GB, let alone a 1060 with half the VRAM and 128 fewer CUDA cores. I'd absolutely go with the RX 480.

RX 480, more vram and chances are it'll perform slightly better (if at all) in the games you play.

Oh boy, it's actually quite complicated to explain that but i'll try anyway.
in DX11, they are nearly identical, sometimes the rx 480 wins, sometimes the GTX1060 6GB (not 3gb) wins.
    DX12, rx 480 wins by a roughly 10% margin.

However, there's more to it than that because there is stuff like freesync/g-sync, crossfire/sli support etc etc.
Anyway, personally i would get the rx 480 (i have one :p) because if price are the same, imo the rx 480 is the better option.

nah, I only meant money wasn't a problem for these 2 cards, seems I can save 40 euros from purchasing the strix rx 480. Thanks a lot for your help

    Latest purchase:

    TowerRAID TR8X12G

    http://www.sansdigital.com/tr8x12g.html

I had been looking for an affordable SAS3 back-plane solution for a while and this baby came on the market. I had 8 HGST 1.92TB SAS3 RI SSDs just collecting dust while I searched for a SAS3 back plane and or expander. Most were enterprise solutions that were 2-3U and would be nice but loud in the computer room.

With a RAID5 giving me 12.2TB usable SSD storage, I am getting over 3.3GB/s read speed. I was hoping for closer to 6.0GB/s but I am still stuck on PCI-e 2.0, so that may have some effect.

Altough most people will say their brand is like playing russian roulette, i can say with confidence the one i have feels pretty solid and my only complaint is that whites arent properly represented (i suppose all RGB peripherals are like that tough, but the mousepad actually renders them well surprisingly) and that the rubber feet are no match for the hefty size and weight of this keyboard and i dont even want to use them, altough i could be exaggerating, but with the wristrest its too much to bear . Nonetheless, clicky and tactile keys are awesome and it was my only option too. The wristrest is excellent that it is and so is the backlit.

RGB set is finally complete .-., took over 6 months!

This is a respectable thing to say, but just keep in mind the socket you are buying into with Intel is getting outdated too, 1151 socket will be replaced eventually.

Just look at how many sockets Intel has had in the last few years.  (Not in date order) - 1150, 1151, 1155, 1156, 2011, 2011v3

What makes you possibly think that Intel will stick with 1151 longer than AMD will stick with AM4 (which they've already said they're using through at least 2020).  Intel changes sockets like my ex-wife bought new cars.

Well its not really that they didn't release anything. It just wasn't competitive. And even as an intel fan we all better hope they continue to stay competitive after the Ryzen release.

Sure if you want to look at it in a very limited context.  AMD had a ton of non-tech related issues that they've had to deal with - not the least of which would include having to sell off ALL of their fabs and now do all their chip manufacturing through 3rd parties.  Historically AMD has been great with releasing regular tech and I'm betting that they continue to do so again.

Sure, anything competitive. I'm just more comfortable going with Intel (also because they've been focusing on single-core performance; better gaming experience). Might just close it here, boys, I'm not going AMD (as you might be able to tell). Though this has been informative, and a nice debate, thank you.

One last thing, I still didn't get an answer for my original question in the post, would you mind trying to answer?
