  1. Hey, welcome! Are you using an overclocked GPU? Is this also brand new or a little older? Thanks.
  2. Your SSD might have some built in protection against this stuff, especially since it's likely more expensive. Good thing, too, it would be much harder to do data recovery on a fried SSD than a HDD.
  3. Hey guys, I'm having some more issues with my Razer Blade. Whenever I'm connected to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi specifically, I have issues with the screen flickering. It'll happen when I'm either connecting or transferring a lot of data over 2.4 GHz. The screen will not flicker if I'm connected over 5 GHz Wi-Fi. I'm going to have to use my phone's mobile hotspot for the next few days and I'm going to be stuck using 2.4 GHz or the horrifically slow USB tethering. Turning Wi-Fi off while the screen flickers instantly fixes it, and turning Wi-Fi back on and connecting to a 2.4 GHz network causes it to instantly start again. Here's a video showing it. I'm sorry it's so low quality, I was in a moving vehicle. Here's what I've tried: > Rebooting > Updating the driver software for the network card > Switching between 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz. Definitely a problem. I've also had BSODs occur when pulling up the Wi-Fi menu before. This is a major issue and I can't wait weeks without this laptop to RMA it. Any ideas would be appreciated.
  4. Hey guys, look at my awesome internet speed! I'm kidding, this is a problem I've been having with the Google internet speed test recently. I get vastly different speeds with it than any other speed test website. Seemingly at random, the meter will to up to a number usually between 300-3000 Mbps and freeze until I reload the page. Anyone else having issues with it?
  5. I'd say that you should contact Dell and see what they say, then update this. Hope your problem gets fixed!
  6. Your camera should be fine as long as you put a lens cap on both the camera and the lens. Without that, dust can get into the sensor or debris can block the optical image stabilization and cause problems with it. A lot of people swap their lenses all of the time.
  7. So today while watching a YouTube video, I found a bit of a hidden feature of the Blade keyboard. If you press and hold the FN key and press one of the numbers, it'll switch your lighting profile to whatever key you pressed. I also managed to put the fans into some sort of turbo mode while doing this, but I don't quite know how. Hope this helped you guys, I don't really know why it isn't documented anywhere.
  8. According to HWMonitor, it's at 0.0%
  9. Hey, I posted about my Razer Blade having issues earlier today, but I seem to have narrowed down the issue to the battery. In event viewer, the shutdown reason is "Battery." I'm not sure why it would go into hibernation because of a low battery when the battery is at 97%, so it must be some Windows safety thing. I read somewhere that Windows will do this if the battery voltage goes down too quickly, but I'm not sure how I'd fix it. I found this post while looking for other people having this issue, but my power settings are already set to the defaults. (10%, 5%) Is there any other settings I can change to prevent this from happening? It seems to be software related.
  10. I'll do that, but it feels like a software issue. It isn't like flipping a light switch, Windows will do the hibernation animation. Thanks for the reply!
  11. Hey guys, I'm having some issues with the Razer Blade (2016, GTX 1060) I bought a few days ago. The laptop seems to randomly go into hibernation every half an hour to an hour. I can't really figure out when it does it, but it isn't heat related because it''s running around 45 degrees C, and it isn't battery related because it happens when the battery is pretty much fully charged. This problem also occurs when I'm doing anything, so it isn't happening just when a game is running. I've disabled the power button in settings after reading that it could be that, but that hasn't seemed to help. I can pick up right where it left off after I turn the computer back on, so I know that it isn't sleeping or shutting down. Is there some Windows setting I should change? Thanks! UPDATE: I've taken a look at event viewer and these two errors occured at the time of hibernation. Error 1: "The system is entering sleep. Sleep reason: Battery." I'm not sure how this is possible, the battery was at 60% when this happened. Could it be some sort of voltage reading error? Error 2: "The application specific permissions settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID" I have no idea, I attached the error below.
  12. Windows 7-10: Go into the start menu and type in "Sound." From playback, test each device to see which one is the one you want. After that, right click and choose "Set as default device" and "Set as default communication device" as they're different for no good reason. You might have to reboot for this to apply everywhere. Mac OS: Go into settings, choose sound, and select the device you want. It might be a little different depending on your version.
  13. I don't have a solution to your GPU issue, but I say that you should buy any GPU from the store, the cheapest one you can, throw it in your rig for a little bit just to download your games until your 1080 can be recovered.
