  1. $20 air fryer? Yes please.

  2. I wouldn't be too worried about it TBH. Most SSDs will go far, far beyond the rated drive endurance. I believe it's more of a warranty thing. They tested x number of drives, all lasted within that time, so that's the rating they'll give them so that they don't have to file as many warranty claims.
  3. I'd probably look into more storage. 1TB these days goes by pretty quickly.

Yes I'm aware. Who cares? Clearly I do. I need the towing capacity. A Sprinter van is 3 feet longer than a Cayenne, it also can't go offroad. I don't feel like driving something that large all the time. The vehicles you listed can't go offroad. Can't tow. A8 can't carry as much internally. Not very multipurpose. Saying no one cares about SUVs is so blatantly false it's laughable. If that were true, they wouldn't exist. Stop trying to push your views onto everyone as if they're fact

I guess you've never driven a Porsche Cayenne, M40i x3, and I've heard the Alfa Stelvio in it's race version is pretty fun too. Find me a car that can tow 7700lbs It's not so much range, which is an issue, or charging. It's the fact that while they might not emit a thing from a tail pipe, they pollute in many other ways. Something like 5% of the batteries are recycled, the rest are not. They use rare earth minerals. If a car gets into an accident, or even marks the underbody plate that covers the battery, the vehicle is written off and battery replacements aren't feasible. It'll only take a few more years of hard numbers and insurance companies will likely jack their rates to cover the added expense. They also throw far more pollution into the air in terms of tire wear. Electric vehicles are a stopgap solution. That's why we've seen huge leaps and pushes towards Hydrogen by some of the larger car manufacturers.

I like my vehicles to be multi purpose Electric vehicles. Unless there's quite a bit of advancement, they just don't make sense.
  7. You pretty much never get a 100% increase in what you get. That kind of hope will just leave you constantly unhappy. If you're worried about that kind of equation you're probably better off getting the 5 Pro. I'd probably get it sooner than later, as they'll ramp down production when they start manufacturing the 7 Pro.
  8. The Rivian R2 is the first electric vehicle that's really peaked my interest.

Though I still think the segment as a whole is destined for failure.

You didn't understand my point. You were making the point that SUVs were fun to drive. I'm telling you that no one ever bought an SUV for fun, because no one cares about that in an SUV. And that is what I meant with no one cares about SUVs. They're just like any other car, but in a shitty tall chassis.

And on top of that no one does care in Germany about towing or load capacity. Again, if they were, they'd get a Sprinter, which is shorter than a Cayenne with a Trailer and much much cheaper.

If you actually take your SUV off road, cool, I bet there are dozens of you. In Germany no one does. Literally no one and no one tows more than 1-2t with a car here. If you want to get shit done here, you rent an appropriate car for the job.

The vehicles I listed, I didn't list because they are particular good at towing or going off-road. Again, you didn't understand my point.

Not true, but believe what you like.

I'm not sure why you think I care what Germans do, as if that's some kind of benchmark for me.

I didn't understand your point because it's rather pointless.

We won't be flying in, so we won't be near an airport. How is it? Good to know it's on ATT, I imagine they have pretty good coverage.
  10. 7/10. Nice, but you didn't get the LTT colorway, which IMO if you're collecting them as you say, doesn't make much sense I went with the Megapro driver instead of the LTT one. 90% of the performance, 1/4 of the cost. Standard bits. I don't think people critiquing it means that they're jealous. Sometimes someone judging your financial choices is simply not in line with what you spend your money on. I, for example, could have easily afforded an LTT screw driver, but spending 4x the money on some differences that wouldn't matter to me is a waste.

Apples response to their EU fine makes them sou…

Haha, I don't expect a ton from large corporations but when I see things like this it just wreaks of insecurity. Though as with anything written like this it could just be a butthurt diehard fanboy writer and the person above him feeling the same. I have more of an issue with them thinking they're somehow entitled to a portion of their subscription fee. Though, even if you break it down it's only 22.3 million terabytes for all of the Spotify downloads. Which sounds like tons but really isn't that much considering that's global, and I'm assuming lifetime.
  12. Does anyone here live in the US and use a Pay As You Go cell phone?

My partner and I are planning a trip to Portland in the fall and we'd need cell phones with data for a few days. Was looking at US Cellular, but there's really mixed reviews.

It's very good. i'm in Michigan, and it works in just about any place, good coverage in the middle of nowhere. I'd assume in portland oregon it'd be so, so much better than middle of nowhere michigan

https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2024/03/the-app-store-spotify-and-europes-thriving-digital-music-market/ It basically attacks Spotify, and comes across as Apple crying that they won't pay them more money. I'm on mobile and at work so I can't really make a news post.

Just because you bought the phone doesn't mean that the cost of hosting the app magically goes away. Whether either of us like it, it still costs money to host an app.

Well, there is a way to not host the app.

Just that Apple doesn't like doing it. I wonder why.

I can understand charging for hosting the app, I don't get how they got the gall to take  cut for monthly sub.

depending from what perspective we want to see it:

On one side, if no app have any interest on being in [Put an App Store Here], then I wonder how many people still want to use phone that uses that App Store.

On the other side, app wants to be in all app store to reach more audience.

IMO, both is quite hand in hand.

Me, if I know the phone I'm buying doesn't have the App I want (let's say I play fortnite), and I don't have any other way of installing it, I'll simply won't buy it. No point doing otherwise.

I actually want Apple to do to Spotify what they did to Epic. I'm curious at how their average community reacts and all.

I imagine it's because the online hosting idea was still relatively new when the App Store launched, and that just made sense at the time. About time they changed it.

You have to consider that most people don't want to switch phones or phone brands. As Linus has gone over before, switching to a new phone means hours and hours of setting everything up and learning how to use a new phone. For most people, that just isn't an option.

Gosh, that would be interesting. However, I just can't see Apple doing that; even if they broke the guidlines. Spotify is too big a seller on the App Store to kick it off like that.

Well, I'm actually the type of person who never like environment change.

I mean.... I still used Win 7 up to 2021 :x. Still used it for like 3-4 years after I bought a new PC with Windows 10. Was only using the Win10 PC for really heavy games.

But yeah, if let's say my phone tomorrow no longer have any App, I will change brand. And that should be quite something considering it's said by me, who barely uses apps.

  18. I'm pretty sure back when AI images were simply blobs trying to look like something, a lot of people were laughing saying it'd never amount to anything. Yet look at the strides it's made in the past 2 years alone. To say it'll never be able to do something is ridiculous and very short sighted. You simply sound like the line workers in a turn of the century auto plant, or the people who tend to countless horses during the rise of the automobile. I get the shots at him saying things like this, as he does have a massive vested interest. At the same time, and for the same reason, he likely sees things many don't, and knows what's coming down the pipeline.

  22. 4060. You won't notice the VRAM difference much, and by the time you do it'll be time to upgrade to a better card. I personally wouldn't go AMD; I've tried, several times, and it's simply not as stable as Nvidia across the same amount of titles. Nvidia just works. Welcome to the forum.
  23. You need to quote or tag people in order for them to see you've replied to the post As for your list, it's not bad. I'd get a bigger cooler for the CPU. There's lots of very good budget coolers, check out Hardware Canucks, they do great shootouts on them. I'd probably get a better case as well, that one is likely a bit air flow restricted. Do you really have the space for a second monitor with a 45" ultra wide? I think it'd be more of a pain than something that's genuinely useful.
  24. I'd make a build on PCPartPicker, and link to that; downloading files off a forum isn't usually something a lot of people are going to want to do. Are the monitors in the budget? Welcome to the forum.
