Symbolizer21's Achievements

  1. Nope, no change at all... Displayport and hdmi come up as no signal on my on board outputs while the graphics card is installed
  2. No other PCi cards have ever been installed and I tried booting with the card in but monitor plugged into on board graphics but they just stayed asleep, so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong there, i tried both the hdmi and display port monitors individually bc I've had dp issues before with this setup but that didn't seem to be the case this time... I'll give it another go with card in and monitor on on board graphics, hopefully new bios yields differnt results.
  3. so ive been running my system i built with no gpu for a while for various reasons and i finally bought a card (gigabyte GTX 960 G1 gaming 2gb) and i go to install it, my system posts, i get all the bios stuff up to make sure it was all good then i go to boot into windows and the windows logo comes up then my keyboard and moush flash and shut off then my screen just goes blank, not off just black and theres not hdd activity and i leave it for like 30 minutes and nothing. i tried removing the card and looking up drivers but it wont install without nvidia hardware present in the system. im going to try updating my bios but i doubt thats the issue since i can post and reach bios and even get to the os logo, it seems to just get hung up on the switch from bios to os my hardware is 8gb DDR3 2133, intel i5 3570k, asus maximus V formula, gigabyte GTX 960 G1 Gaming, a standard 1080p displayport monitor from asus, windows 8.1 fully updated my keyboard and mouse are in the usb2.0 ports no other hardware has changed other than the addition of the graphics card im not sure what other information i should give, its just after midnight here and im just sitting here scratching my head at what could possibly be wrong any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated
  4. Connecticut Legislators are working on a plan to make Connecticut the first "Gigabit State" It's an ambitious goal and they even say that they have a lot of catching up to do with other sates far ahead. What do you guys think of the goal of being the "first gigbit state" ? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Article is from the Connecticut Post, it was published December 21st http://www.ctpost.com/news/article/Plan-would-put-Connecticut-on-Internet-fast-track-5969260.php ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quotes from article: To hear Milford Mayor Ben Blake tell it, wiring Connecticut for ultra-high-speed Internet access is the modern version of building roads and bridges. "It used to be based on where the trains went through or the highways," he said. "Now the economic driver is Internet technology. You have to get on that train or perish." The effort is coordinated by the state but run through the municipalities. The fastest Internet access widely available in the state is through cable companies, which do not directly compete with each other. Access through phone lines is slower than cable. Service generally costs between $50 and $100 per month. Stamford, Danbury, Bridgeport and Fairfield are also among the 46 communities [included in the project], which represent more than half the state's population.
  5. I have a pair of nice headphones that came with an inline mic and it uses a 4-pole 3.5 mm jack (the kind for cell phones) and I've been looking for a connector that would convert the 4 pole jack to 2 standard 3.5 mm jacks (headphones and mic separate) so that i can use the headphones with their inline mic on my pc I havent had much luck finding anything relevant, maybe someone knows if something like this even exists and if it does what its called so i can buy one
  6. it would be amazing to have this laptop, i never win anything
  7. i love the lg version android, very nice
  8. well the cmos battery is exposed under one of the access covers on the bottom so its easy thankfully
  9. I tried starting up my old Acer 5736z-4016 Notebook and it wont boot because its asking for a Bios level boot password i never set. I know how to reset it on my desktop but ive never had to reset it on a laptop, do i have to pull the whole thing apart to pull the cmos battery or is there an easier way to clear that boot password
  10. coke is too much like acid for me, gotta have my pepsi
  11. some more details would help what are you doing when this happens does anyhting weird happen before it does this is this happening often/once in a while/ or a rare thing specs? other information? the more info we have the easier it is to rule stuff out or pinpoint the problem Also. update everything. and if thats what caused the problem, un-update everything.
  12. Just update everything that can be updated, thats just scary. id maybe as a last resort use the Windows 8 [REFRESH] option to reinstall windows without overwriteing the settings/documents/programs I use it once in a while, very cool option for a re install without wiping the drive clean. Try to reinstall window 8.1 they update frequently and after waiting a while try to reupdate to 8.1 my gf's laptop wasnt happy with 8.1 at first so i rolled it back to 8 but after a few months it started not likeing 8 >.> and when i pushed it forward to 8.1 again the more recent updates fixed the old issue. 8.1/8 are still somewhat volitile ATM. give it some time for some updates to release... not the funnest thing ever
  13. i google for greneades often. in the context of for Airsoft for Smoke Grenades, CO2 Stun grenades and Projectiles Grenades. they wont show up at your door bc your googled or bought something. if u buy all the ingredients to make meth and googled meth recipe then you might have a problem. theres a diffenrce between clearly doing something wrong and just buying shit or researching. If it was a problem to buy it few would be selling it.
  14. I dont see too much on a mobile phine being heavily multithreaded for an 8 core processor, I've got a snapdragon 600 wich is a quad core 1.7Ghz proccessor and it runs beautiful. the mobile handset at this point just doesnt need super powerful hardware. more than anything efficancy is the most important thing in a hand set so lower power consuming parts and better batteries are what you want. Its finding a balence between power and power usage
