  1. In the Disney PC video, Linus went out of his way to tell people not to connect Windows XP to the internet because of security concerns, but it will soon be three years since OS X El Capitan has received a patch. With that in mind, the value of this adapter for people in that boat is immediately reduced by 1/3. An argument can be made that the adapter can be used in the future by the newer of your devices once it becomes the old device, but as you already stated, these features are coming to macOS natively. I respect the idea of reducing waste, as well as the fact that you got blindsided by Apple, but suggesting one outdated platform is safe while another isn't is a problem.
  2. This video made me realize I have PTSD. I had to open and setup 60 iPads once. When I started it was awesome. 10 iPads in I hated plastic, cardboard, boxes, cutting, Apple..... Opening a bunch of cool stuff isn't as cool as it sounds.
  3. That's true except for one group. When people say they got a deal on a 1060 its always the 3GB.
  4. I came here specifically to find out which as well.
  5. I thoroughly enjoyed the use of "C roll" footage in the middle of the video.
  6. This video, plus recently watching 'No, THIS is the CLEANEST Setup.' video, made me think Taran should get a custom desk. Worlds collide. Or at least videos.
  7. If you have a smart outlet, you can use tasker and IFTTT to disable the outlet when the phone reaches a specific percentage, and then power back on when the battery drains. A method that does not require root to prevent the battery from charging to 100%
  8. "Maybe we're strong enough together?" - Linus, 2018 #Profound
  9. The computer itself is awesome. The production value of the video, though.......amazing. Unbelievably, great work everyone.
  10. I designed this in March of 2012: http://ifans.us/forums/threads/the-new-iphone-should-be-this.373089/
  11. Wow. Haha. Thanks for the reply. The timing is amazing. I literally stopped the Macbook Stand video when it went to autoplay to post this thread. I'm glad you guys made the decision to add the credits. I think its another step in the right direction for a medium that seems to have so few rules right now.
  12. As I was watching 3 Reasons NOT to buy a $400 Laptop, I began to think to myself, "I wonder how involved Linus is in all of the videos now?" I didn't think this because I believe he is doing less work, but because of how thorough the content is. Then I thought, "It must be hard for Linus to find people he trusts who he can work with and feel comfortable representing him and his name on "LinusTechTips." Then I thought about all the VLOG videos and WAN show episodes where Linus has commended his staff and given them credit for all the things they do, especially on the videos he really likes. And then I got the question in my head that prompted this post? Why doesn't LTT credit its contributors in the video descriptions? I know there are a number of writers on staff, and it seems to take a huge group effort to make and edit all the footage, and I'm curious to know who is working on each one. Traditional media would acknowledge the contributors, but I understand this is not traditional, and I was curious of anyone from the staff can give us some insight, or if anyone one else is curious about this like I am. Thanks, and keep up the good work everyone. Bold used for the tl;dr crowd
  13. You can also install Cortana on Android and send and receive SMS from Windows 10. Once Cortana is installed it more or less acts like Pushbullet.
  14. Definitely a great video. I'd love to see more stuff like this. It's pretty cool you guys are still trying new things after 3800 videos.
  15. I'd like to see you guys talk about this on the WAN show. I'm curious if the new style will affect ad revenue. I don't think it will, but I think it may alter how you make thumbnails, knowing there will be two backgrounds.
