Thanks for the insight. It appeared to me to have been longer than 10min on paused without the script taking action. But ill check the logs tomorrow. And yes youre right that the servers are getting bombarded enough!

Hm I never got that. The only thing I changed is that I am running it for local and two systems on the LAN. I see it accessing and confirming the checks for all the systems. But I dont get the restarting.

Well mine says check done but doesn’t detect a paused slot so it also doesn’t take action...?

Roger that, thats! Ok then FreeNAS it is IMHO. Best free system by a long shot. As said above I like unraid for the nice KVM and docker support but yeha FreeNas is also nice.

Yeha ZFS without ECC ehhhhh... How about OpenMediaVault. I have never used it but it seems ok. But yeha in that case I recommend spending a few bucks and getting unraid. In my experience this ruins the best on old HW without ecc. That is also what I am doing for my VM/NAS/Docker server!

Wich model is that PSU? Wich mobo do you have? First upgrade idd do is to get 16GB or RAM. Sell those 2x4 and get 2x8 3200 or 3600Mhz. Then maybe a faster GPU. Is that 144Hz on 1080p?

I think it is perfectly fine to build now with this budget. 4xxx CPUs wont be a HUGE perf gain from what I have read. Do you also intend to be able to game with it or do you ned it for pure productivity? Also do you have any special storage needs? Silent as possible: NH D15 So please answer those questions and ill come up with a nice build. Currently I am thinking 3950x or MAYBE we're able to squeeze a 3960x

Normaly ref. My 5700XT now is a Nitro+, but there in only one block for it alphacool. Performs nice, but yeha zero flexibility. Besides that you do only really need a custom PCB for real hardcore OC. Especially AMD but nowadays also Nvidia VRMs are decent!
