  1. First of all run this to make sure its actually installed $ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install steam then run it in the terminal to see if you get any errors $ steam
  2. I say if you have to ask, you clearly dont need a new game. Save it for when something good comes out.
  3. Ahh the typical IDE vs Editor debate. I say use whatever you work with the best. As for a good python ide, PyCharm is good, since you are a student, you get access to all of the Jetbrains products for free.
  4. Installed ubuntu on a crappy laptop when I was 12. After many years of googling how to do things you learn how everything works. Also this is a pretty new website to check out https://linuxjourney.com/
  5. I love os x but the one thing that bothers me is the inconsistency in Finder. IE the views change in each folder, getting everything to align to a grid is a pain, and columns are inconsistent depending on your directory.
  6. Just ordered a b.87 pcb, acrylic case, and some zealios switches. The hype is real!
  7. Why would you want to use an outdated OS? 10.11 is very good, much better than 10.10.
  8. Make sure you connect via ethernet. WIFI adapter on the PS4 is terrible.
  9. This guide should explain everything http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/290949-how-to-install-os-x-10x-snow-leopard-to-el-capitan-in-vmware-workstation-1011-workstation-proplayer-12-player-67-esxi-56/
  10. Dont do this, as it will get rid of grub and you will not be able to boot into mint. You need to go into mint and type "sudo update-grub"
  11. VirtualBox is not emulation, https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Virtualization But a slow hard drive will take longer to install on, so I would recommend installing it on your SSD. Not sure what you mean by 'clogged up' but that just sounds silly. If you want to install linux, of course you will need an image, but if you are just installing windows then no.
  12. I see a lot of people here recommending arch and I agree but it will be a very difficult time installing it if he has never used a linux distro before. Because of this I would recommend https://manjaro.github.io/ as it is based off arch. It uses its own repos that are usually 1 week behind arch so your packages will have a smaller chance to break when upgrading. Also you still have access to the user repo which is a huge plus.
  13. Why not just sync the photos with owncloud if you dont mind me asking?
  14. Indeed it will, this is what I do all the time.
