This is how companies should act!

"We recently received a small number of reports from riders who experienced stronger than expected braking force on the front wheel," Lyft wrote in a letter to customers on its bikeshare websites. "Out of an abundance of caution, we are proactively removing the pedal-assist bikes from service for the time being."

Then everything got stupid:

A decision to repaint Laguna Beach police cars with an image of the American flag running through lettering on the doors will return to the City Council Tuesday after some residents deemed it unfit for the artists’ community.

“Some of the words people used was that they felt it was threatening, intimidating, harassing and a symbol of racism,” Dicterow said.

At a recent council meeting, local artist Carrie Woodburn said the design scheme on the squad cars looked “aggressive.”

Michael Beanan, who served as a Navy SEAL during the Vietnam War and was responsible for flag treatment and etiquette, had questions weeks ago, when the red, white and blue logo first was seen around town in early March.

“The present re-design with an American flag sprawled across police cars is likely misappropriation of the American flag as a branding device,” he wrote to the City Council. “As an artist in an art community, the hacked display of the American flag is garish and promotes blunt nationalism in a community welcoming international visitors. The scattered, desiccated flag design is also unintelligible and would fail any design class.”

WTF????!!!!

But others, such as Jennifer Zeiter, a local attorney, commended the use of the flag design on the patrol cars during the April 2 City Council meeting.

“It should not even be an issue,” she said on Monday, April 15. “The American flag represents all Americans. It should unify us, not only be used by the left to further create division. It’s an outrage and a clear indication just how dangerously left these people have become attacking our flag.”

But for those in the police union, the flag represents part of the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics.

“We feel that having the American flag displayed on our police vehicles symbolizes all of the good things that this city, county, state, and country not only stand for but strive to achieve,” Hotchkiss said. “America and its flag represent something larger than itself — freedom, democracy, human rights, and equality for all.”

at least someone has sense...

Americans don't have much in common, which is fucking hilarious when people act like "wHy ArE yOu ApPrOpRiAtInG tHe AmErIcAn FlAg" when it's one of the few things that keeps us together.

I don't care if it's the flag or not, but I think it looks ridiculous..but then again I always thought our flag looked stupid.

Honestly, I think the appropriation angle as far as the flag goes is a bit odd. To the former SEAL's opinion on what he think would pass a design class, it's not that hacked up. I think it's a pretty portrayal of the flag given what they had to work with. It's similar to a lot of the flying flag murals that you see painted on the sides of buildings (especially here in NYC).

I gotta say, I think the attorney and the police hit the nail on the head. I think it's a bunch of people (in this situation leftists) who want to portray the flag as being a threat to minorities to forward the agenda that people who love America actually love AmeriKKKa.

(I know that it's a lot of "I think"s but art is subjective and it's also tough for me to comment. I am a tiny bit qualified with a certification in PS CS6 visual communications, but that's not much.)

Tainting a scientific breakthrough with political drivel?  I am disappoint.

I will talk about the actual meaningful conversation.  Skin as well as muscle fiber have been 3D printed successfully in the past, but 3D printing a heart is definitely new, but has been talked about before do to muscle fibers being relatively easy to print.

There have even been talks about using stem cells for repairing damaged organs with the assistance of a 3D printer, along with the age old ethical debate of using human blastocysts (you can't use a human fetus to acquire stem cells, the cells are too far developed) as the source of the stem cells.  I won't go too much into the ethical point of view, but the waiting lists for organs may get a lot lower.
