  1. things that could be implanted in me that could control me i would draw the line at, other then that a modern smart phone has everything on it that the government needs to spy on your every move anyway.
  2. eventually the internet will be brought to its knees by bots on unsecure outdated andriod devices. you can put windows 10 on a 15 year old pc and still get securtiy updates
  3. I have only managed 4.3 on mine. I have seen people that couldn't break 4.1 on broadwell-e
  4. until multi terabyte ssds become affordable for a father of 4 girls, my hdds will be mine.
  5. can you download courses to a phone to listen to offline with them?
  6. I really don't bother proof reading on forum posts, especially when I have a terrible head cold like I do right now. I can write grammatically correct when it is really important. Linux is something I really want to master in the future personally. Yes, I will take your advice on practical knowledge as well as I have been in management for years in a few different companies and someone demonstrating the skills they claimed to have was always a big plus in the interview process.
  7. So where I work right now has terrible cell service so streaming isn't a choice, so I was wondering if anyone has any good suggestions on audio books I can download to listen too while at work, eventually I want to get several certifications and get out of where I am working now, I already have a book on a+ certification and realize I knew 95 percent of what was in the book already so passing that certification test should be easy for me. I am looking for things a little more in depth. Thanks in advance.
  8. I was referring to you talking about a Pentium 3 in a 900d lol.
  9. I was just keeping the case he put in his first build, never had any problems with evga psu's myself, and I was trying to keep with and msi, personally if it was me I would go with and cheap 50$ case a 1060 or rx480, a gigabyte or asrock motherboard since they seem to be some of the best for the price and a 6600k, but I was trying to stick with a full size atx msi board since that is what he had in his original build, to me on tight budget builds asus and msi boards need to get overlooked.

  11. it is going to be hard to get it down to that 900 range with out going to a 1060 or rx480, unless you really cheap out on the cpu and motherboard. (edited because I even stutter when I type sometimes lol)
  12. From working in the automotive business, the majority of people care more about looks than anything else. I have had so many people come in that just bought a car, but have no idea what engine is in it, or the car has beautiful paint and body but every warning light is on in the dash and they got it just because it looked pretty.
  13. The Razer blade, it would be a good replacement for my asus g series that got fried by lightening 2 months ago.
  14. Wendell was the whole reason I watched the Tek, if he isn't on there I won't watch anymore.
  15. When my power supply went bad in my old system it started off with a lot of the same symptoms. I would have to unplug it so all the power would drain, then I could plug it up and it would power on, some times immediately other times i had to wait a few minutes. Some times it would power on just long enough to get in windows and then turn itself off, some times it would run all day just fine then I would turn it off and it wouldn't come back on unless i did the whole unplug and drain power thing. It would also randomly turn off like I hit the power switch and at first I thought it might be a short case wiring, I checked everything out all the connections to the case and mother board. one day it finally wouldn't power on at all. I decided to buy a new psu, plugged it up and it booted fine and was flawless til lightening fried it 6 weeks ago.
  16. you can try one stick at a time in a slot you know is working and if all 4 work in the same slot then it maybe the slot that is bad, I got the same motherboard, and the main complaint i see from people on this motherboard is dead ram slots.
  17. Mine was buying a 2000 dollar gaming laptop instead of building a pc, but I learned and since then I have built 3 lol.
  18. I got a cooler master gx450 psu from a thrift store brand new for 5 bux.
  19. I would think the newer gpus and cpus will last longer since the trend has been toward more power efficiency which also in turn causes them to run cooler. I haven't had any problems with higher end hardware that wasn't an act of God, ie the lightening that fried half my stuff. It took that to kill my almost 6 year old asus g73 jwa1 laptop which at the time was the highest end one they sold.
  20. the second choice, when I am out and about for work ect. my phone does what I need, I am to busy interacting with people to immerse in a game or deep work on my pc. I like to game when I am home and can zone out everything. Would you rather be with out internet for 1 week and have electricity or have internet for that week and only enough power to run the router, modem and keep your phone/tablet charged and usable?
  21. I read though my policy, I didn't see anything about lowering electronics to actually cash value, I found out I am covered for things I didn't know I was like debries removal. I am going to go back over it agian this weekend and make sure I didn't over look it.
  22. So far the vast majority of things have been done via email so I have records of everything so far. I just submitted all my receipts, and the report from the tech shop that looked at all of my items. I am hoping to hear something by monday or tuesday on what they plan to do.
