  1. What a wonderful avatar! "Could you have been born, Richardson? And not egg-hatched as I’ve always assumed?"
  2. Have you moved it at all recently? check to see if there is a loose screw or piece of metal touching the motherboard somewhere.
  3. Nostalgia tarnishes the present, but in the idea of good faith I suppose answering is alright. A C64 would be the first. My neighbor had to put GEOS on it for me so it would cease to be a paperweight. My best friend then moved here from Ireland and he brought an Acorn RISC based PC over with him. This would be the official beginning. Then came the big guns. The Amiga with a copy of Dune.and Wolfenstein. I actually don't remember which was released first but I want to say Dune. That is the one I definitely owned first anyway, having to beg my father to get Wolfenstein for me for quite a while. then we fought over who would play it the most. Up until the Amiga all the gaming was done on a Sega master sytem, although now the only games I can remember are Shinobi, California games, and a football game that might have been a Madden title. Again my father would play the Sega as much or more then I would. He swung and slam broke so many controllers. Years later he broke my whole Genesis after losing in some high level Sonic Spinball. In short, the past is never as good as we think. Let us praise and love our i7's.
  4. I found the channel several years ago while looking for some info on the first i7's that came out. The LTT channel wasn't started yet at this time. I've watched it grow since the beginning, and you guys do a great job. At this point I don't necessarily watch to learn anything about the technology or specs of products, but more to see if there is something I overlooked or some weird behavior that any given product might display, either right away, or after prolonged use. That is a very important and helpful thing to have before sinking serious money in something. Or perhaps just to see like minded people speaking about the products I love. It's always nice to have someone else talk about their experience with a product. It tends to give me comfort to see other people as excited as me about new tech that has come out. The one thing I would like you guys to examine next is the actual tangible benefit of some of the 3333+ MHz memory kits that are going to start surfacing soon. In particular when the 4000+ MHz kits start to hit the shelf. I need to know what the real world benefits are going to be, and how the high latency these kits have as they go up in speed effect the performance of not just games but programs like Maya and NASTRAN. At what point does the introduction of higher latency negate the speed and make the performance the same as the next lower speed. Where do the diminishing returns begin? I always buy the memory with the highest speed I can get and dial it down a notch or two to get better latency. I recently got the Corsair DP DDR4 2800 kit and run it at 2666, 15-15-15-35. Which seems to run better then at 2800, 16-18-18-36. Some of the kits available now have a latency of 17. This is almost double what a few PC's I have are running at. When compiling something with gcc it seems to make a tangible difference to have the speed higher. While with other programs I use, ones that say track movement of stars or crunch tons of numbers that deal with the infinitesimal quite apparently benefit from the lower latency of say 2400, 9-11-11-31. Answers, answers, I must have answers!!!
  5. Real neat idea man. Looks great. I had a i7 950 it was a stellar chip, first CPU I ever touched 4GHz with. I run a 3+1 monitor setup myself so I know how awesome it is. If you haven't been HERE before it will be your new best friend. You'll find every fix and tweak for basically every game you could play in Eyefinity / Surround on there and a great community who KNOWS their stuff when it comes to MM. I'm not a big enough jerk to say eww bad cable management, that shit doesn't matter. Instead I'll say eww 16:10 burn it with fire. \jk Awesome rig man.
  6. I got a H440 and it is BOSS. I have the red/black one. It looks sweet and was great to build in. 600t has a few issues for me although I think it is also fantastic, those side panels man.
  7. I would join, I'm not profane, BUT, I am educated so listening to you gossip about fairy tales might make me vomit. Evolution kiddos it's a fact not an opinion. If you disagree next time you come to my hospital I'll make sure they don't give you any medicine since it can only be made with the knowledge from evolution. Have fun being repressed.
  8. Two titans can't run 60 fps @ 4K NOW in Cry Engine 3. Not to mention Chris Roberts said At launch the graphics technology to push SS at ultra will be available 1 1/2 years after release. Also you are probably just daydreaming and aren't really contemplating a 8,000 dollar PC. I cant see anyone with that money needing to ask.
  9. Why is it every thread I go to has some know it all assholes telling someone "Already Posted" or "Breaks CoC" and are usually wrong. What kind of sorry crap has made you guys this way? If you have nothing to contribute butt out, the grown ups are talking. Anyways thanks OP it looks cool. I'll give it a whirl. Sounds like my kind of game. Adults only.
  10. Applied. I've been looking for people to play with. It was great at first but now it sucks solo.
  11. I NEVER pre-order games but I pre-ordered this one. All because you get Doom 4 BETA access if you pre-order.
  12. Thanks for your great addition to this topic. Also thanks for feeling it necessary to try and correct someone. Why is it on 60% of the threads there is someone who only comes in to say "already posted." without even contributing to the thread? Instead next time you feel the urge to be the junior C.O. go watch some more Netflix anime and think your watching the rare unknown stuff. Sorry for taking my bad day out on you. I'm still gonna post this though if at the very least to vent.
  13. If the game is worth it I always pay Full Price or close(coupons). It's all about the "real world" and in the "real world" adults pay for what they want. It's not fair to the devs to screw them by Pirating. Now as far as waiting for price drops, I personally am to neurotic to wait. If it's something I want to play I'll get it.

    Is BF4 good?

Exactly. It's a great game, BUT at this point if you don't have anyone to play with it gets a little bit frustrating. I can never find anyone to stick with me in the game and it is irritating as hell.
  15. I'm upset that they're using Source also. For a different reason though. Once you crank the game up to 3840 x 2160 if fails hardcore. The textures are terrible. Why didn't they use Cry Engine or even Unreal?
