  1. We have the right to return any product within 14 days for any reason, for the most part our laws tend to protect the public over corporations
  2. Don't you mean 14nm######################, you need to stack the +'s together so more fit on the box
  3. And I thought I had one of the oldest gaming machines on here!
  4. Cats are a nightmare if you go away for more than one night. We occasionally go away for weekends, Friday evening to Sunday evening. They're OK with dry food for a couple of days but apart from the health problems that it can bring over longer periods of time, leaving them alone isn't that good for them.
  5. There was the "Slate" with XP and resistive touch. Very clunky interface though. That they are, plenty of space inside, everything is socketed, no thermal issues and last longer than the newer machines. Except mine, mine are just broken.
  6. Security by obscurity does work when the hardware terminates itself with any attempt to gain access to it's internals. Try to read another applications memory? Hard reset. Ingenico's Telium OS is based on Debian I believe, and very locked down. It's also secure enough for decade old designs to still be valid and certified. I certainly won't be giving away the source code to my fintech back-end
  7. I have a "dead" CPU that will only run 32-bit code, try 64 and it locks up. It's a Xeon x5500 series, cant remember the exact model.
  8. Oh dear, better not pay with card again then Only company I won't buy (new) hardware from again is Apple. I've had and still have a lot of Apple hardare, but their intentional use of non-replacable hardware in anything other than phones and tablets is an utter fark bucket. That and instead of allowing the installation of a new OS on older hardware, they just prevent the installer from running and pull support for hardware which it would be no issue to leave drivers in for. When it's as much effort to install Mac OS on actual Apple hardware as it is to install it on an AMD machine from 10 years ago, it's not a good sign. Also EA for dropping online support for NFSU2 because the next one was released. I miss that game.
  9. I ended up finding a guide on installing it in a VM and they provided VMDK images. I booted and setup High Sierra in the VM, then used a 3rd party tool to download the installer app, and promptly failed to get the installer to transfer an install image to a USB drive attached to the VM. Using a Mac was useless too as the installer won't run on Snow Leopard, an OS updater that refuses to run on an older OS. The mind boggles.
  10. I spent all weekend trying to get just a working vailla image on a USB drive for upgrading an actual Mac!
  11. Give up and use a VM, you need OSX running on something to make the bootable drive in the first place. Gone are the days of simply burning a CD/USB image and installing from that.
  12. Drop the resolution and refresh rate. I'd try running a benchmark too and see how that goes, furmark or sometihng similar.
  13. I'll be activated using it's OEM license, failing that buy a cheap key online or just use it with the watermark (or remove the watermark and be a true pirate).
  14. EPS connectors are for CPU power headers. You really are limited to having an external power supply, pushing your luck with molex adaptors, replacing the entire machine or selling the card and getting one that doesn't require supplementary power.
  15. It's a royal pain in the arse, had no luck on an Mac Mini using Snow Leopard (part of the reason I want a newer OS). I ended up downloading a vmware disk image for High Sierra, setting that up, finding an Apple page on downloading older OS versions, downloading the installer, that failed, so I used a 3rd party tool to download the complete installer app through the app store. People wonder why I get pissed off with Apple and the way they do things, this crap is one of many!
  16. I too have been trying to find a not horridly priced iPhone, it's damn impossible. In some ways I wish I had got one instead of my Note 9, but I got a better device with the Note so I'm glad I made that choice.
  17. Breach of contract isn't really illegal, not in this instance at least.
  18. The topic is not selling other peoples software either is it?
  19. Running macOS in a VM is an EULA violation, it is only licensed for use on Apple hardware yet the net is full of VM's, disk images and many websites dedicated to running the OS on any hardware it can support. If anything Apple has more to loose as they get nothing from people using their OS without buying the hardware to go with it.
