  1. Why aren't you watching the video to the end before commenting?
  2. Update to the absolute latest stable bios. I had almost the exact same issues. CPU isn't faulty, BIOS support just isn't fully there with whatever you're running.
  3. They did. It nearly bankrupted the company as a whole.
  4. Hey you weren't around to deal with Bulldozer aight? Like... I was there. Shit went down. xD
  5. That's a power supply issue. That sounds like the 12v rails are going bad/are bad and showing those signs. Only other thing I can think of would be that the GPU is dying.
  6. It's also worth noting they're trying to suddenly pour money into making literally thousands of windows games run flawlessly on Linux, which was already an insurmountable task to begin with, and to manage such a feat in what... two years? Yeah that was never going to happen.
  7. Uh... pretty much any motherboard will give you the full benefit of what that APU is capable of. The B550i you've got is perfectly fine. I certainly hope you aren't expecting that APU to actually push 1440p in any games. Like... the 5600G has a hard time managing 1080p on low settings as is. o.o;
  8. It outputs insane heat because it's set up to push 240w through the CPU at full load and is completely unrestrained. If you pushed 240w through a Zen3 processor, you'd run into much the same issue. That's basically the entire problem. Drop the wattage used and the issue falls away almost immediately.
  9. I'd honestly just wait. There's still skepticism regarding if Raptor Lake is going to be supported on LGA1700 at all, so... might not even bother if you ask me.
  10. It's purpose-built for 1080p gaming. Though I would NOT spend $700 on one.
  11. You insinuate that there's a steep price drop for 64-bit cards. There isn't. Cards rarely drop down below $50, so find the best thing you can get for $50 and laugh all the way to the bank. Go find a GTX 960 or some other Maxwell-based card. They aren't particularly good, but they're a LOT better than any GPU you're hoping to get.
  12. LOL I was going to ask if they were Unity Engine games! Does event viewer show anything?
  13. No not really. You haven't listed what you are planning to buy as a whole system so... can't really give much more of an opinion until we get that info.
  14. I would check to see if there's any games used all share a similar game engine. I know for a fact that Unity doesn't play well with certain laptop models, namely machines with a mobile 1060. Had three just... up and shut down due to some kernel power management error thing. Be interesting to see if this happens much the same here.
  15. Did you update to the latest BIOS version and install all drivers for your motherboard as well as enable XMP/tune the memory to the advertised settings? I know before updating the BIOS, I had all sorts of issues with my 5800X, similar to not clocking high enough in most apps.
  16. That's not the same 1600. The one the OP is talking about is the 1600 AF, which is pretty much a 2600 but clocked 100MHz slower.
  17. I wouldn't bother with more than 16GB RAM personally. Besides, running that configuration will cause problems down the line. It's *okay* at best. I'd be more impressed if it were being used as like... a self-setup NAS unit than a gaming system. FX is garbage-tier. Like asking how your Pentium 4 gaming system looks when everyone has Sandy Bridge. xD
  18. I would just settle for a cheaper option from Intel for AMD personally. Even a 10-series i7 or Zen 2 CPU would crush anything you have right now. Grab something that's on sale (I know the 10900k is regularly sold for under $400 which is an amazing deal for what it brings) and build a totally modern machine for pennies on the dollar. Better to grab a bug-free, stable platform, even if it's not bleeding edge. I'd lean more toward Intel 10th gen personally, even if it is slower than Zen 3, because pricing is so damn good for what you pay for. A 10900K for $380 or 10700K for $275 is insane.
  19. What makes you think anything with Intel will be upgradable? They haven't had that business model for nearly a decade.
  20. If you can find that one GTX 1070 for around $300-350 on Ebay, and while rare, they do pop up, it'd be a worthwhile upgrade. The doubling of Vram alone would considerably help in modern day games, if only because 4GB just does NOT cut it anymore. If you can find a 1060 for around $250-275, and again yeah that's super rare/near impossible though it does happen, then it's a good deal. But if you have to drop $400 on a 1070 or $350 on a 1060? Just stick with what you have.
  21. As others have said, SLI is dead, it ceased support with the 10-series GPUs. Also, doubtful your 4770k could keep up with much beyond the 1070. Would upgrade the system before the GPU. Likely to notice a bigger increase. Willing to bet cash that any frame drops you experience are directly related to your memory speed and the lack of threads for that CPU.
  22. Nope! They came out in 2018 remember, so we're talkin' about CPUs that are two generations old by this point, that and the Ryzen 5000 series as a lead as great over Ryzen 2000 as Ryzen 1000 had over FX. (+50% IPC gain) I still recommend people to grab a 2600 if they are coming from a considerably older i5 or i7 offering. You can build an entire PC, no GPU, for around $550 using 2nd Gen Ryzen as the basis. Great way to allow people to upgrade to something more potent down the line without sacrificing much.
  23. Hang onto it. Considering you'd essentially be downgrading in every way going to any lesser card, I say just use the overkill card as long as you can.
