  1. i'm cool with it as long as i can use paypal been pretty lucky so far, no bad experiences
  2. funny u mention it, this was brought up in my astronomy elective today. our guest lecturer reckons that the 4 billion dollar price tag they put on it wouldnt get them close to what it would actually cost to carry out this mission. pretty sure he said nasa estimated like 65 billion for return manned mission to mars back in 2004/5
  3. i'd say not. i never noticed mouse lag with my tele, it seemed just like using a monitor until online fps multiplayer or twitch platformers, ppl weren't where i was aiming in online play. other than that i found the pc+tv gaming/use experience really positive. and yeah monitors have input lag too, the more bits and pieces the higher the input lag usually. bits and pieces = speakers, inputs, controls, usb hubs
  4. i never noticed mouse lag whilst moving it across the screen, it was more when trying to hit things moving at a distance. they usually have some tru motion tech or something for like sporting events to reduce blur, but this inturn adds more input lag im pretty sure. a good gaming monitor priced for its response time will be like 2ms, my dells are about 8ms, but they are ips. hope this helps.
  5. sporting a 256gb crucial m4 ssd for my primary drive - games, os and programs. do fresh os install bout every 3 months. picked ssd cause its uber fast boot and program installs. picked crucial for the brand because it had a really good rep for reliability/compatability at the time. have a 1tb samsung spinpoint f3 for fraps recording, editing and storage. picked these drives cause at the time of purchase they were really well priced and had great reviews. real happy with it 2 years on. have another 1tb f3 for my steam library backup and for other program backups. same reason as above. originally bought these 2 and ran in raid 0, then in raid 1, then split after i got my big drive as follows. have a 3tb WD ezrx green drive for all my movies, music and tv shows. got this drive for a few reasons -priced well -low heat and power -had seagates fail before -WD sponsors LTT seems so much faster than the 1tb sata2 wd green i used to have (now lives in my dads pc) real happy with this recent purchase
  6. is used a toshiba very much like that for my pc while away for work (its now mounted on my wall, great tv), made tribes ascend really difficult with the input lag. if u gonna game on it i suggest steering away from it. perhaps compromise for a 1080 27inch.
  7. cant comment on the recording part. but i just build a htpc with win 8 and find it is a real nice os for the application

  10. this. i have red, not really a fan. had black gets a bit tiring. sister has brown, love it.
  11. if there is a chance u will go eyefinity, go 7950. u want that extra vram believe me. plus just say u dont end up getting a second card, it would be better to be left with a 7950 then a 7870.
  12. ft03 http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=291&area=en tj8 http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=303&area=en in that 100 price range and matx or spring for a bit more and get http://www.silverstonetek.com/raven/products/r-spec.php?model=RV03&area=en rv03 or even the rv02 (great case) with the larger size http://www.silverstonetek.com/raven/products/index.php?model=RV02-E&area=en
  13. case + air cooling = silverstone. personally think their cases are the best air cooling cases around, awesome dust filtration, cooling and features. can also vouch for their psu's. used them in 4 builds with no dramas. hope this helps
  14. alternative cheap mic, i use this. pretty happy with it http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=116_250&products_id=2885&zenid=006fae4bd19c5e1d3fd6b3cb8ec50071
  15. whilst i know its no issue, F*** it drives me bonkers. its why i buy cases like the rv02 and haf xb, so i dont have to see it. will grab that dowel idea fopr the future tho
  16. http://www.head-fi.org/ have a look at that site, there is so much info on there its where i pretty much lived prior to purchasing my set up.
  17. stereo headphones will be enough, the software throws the sound around. ad700's have a massive solund stage and are super comfortable. i dont have the 700x's tho so cant comment on those.
  18. no, but the xonar has a headphone amp on it, i wouldnt use the ad700s without them personally. and the software for virtual 7.1 on the xonar will be a better solution than that on ur mobo i use this set up and am really happy with it, 2 of my friends bought the same when they had a try.
